Somalia: At least six killed in Mogadishu attack near beach

Six people have been killed in a blast at a seaside restaurant in Somalia's capital Mogadishu, an ambulance service official said.

The Pescatore Seafood Restaurant, which opened recently in the south of the city, was frequented by security and government officials.

Video uploaded to social media shows smoke billowing from the scene of the attack.

Militant Islamist group al-Shabab claimed responsibility for the blast.

Three people were shot dead and several others were injured in a terror attack in Tel Aviv, Israel, on Thursday night, according to authorities.

At least 12 people were shot in the attack, with victims being taken to Ichilov, Sheba Tel Hashomer and Wolfson hospitals, according to Magen David Adom, Israel's national emergency medical service. Two men, "approximately 30 years old," were pronounced dead at Ichilov Hospital.

The Israel-Arab conflict is full of contradictions and astounding facts, but to an outside observer like me, nothing is quite as contradictory and bizarre as the situation on the Temple Mount, the Jews’ holiest site (known to Muslims as the Haram al-Sharif and their third holiest site).

On the Temple Mount, it is forbidden for Jews (sit down for this) to pray. Yes, pray. No matter how quietly, and no matter how discreetly, Jews are not allowed to pray. In fact, it is forbidden for any religious group other than Muslims to pray on the Temple Mount.

Telangana: Azhar slits 23-year-old MCA graduate’s throat for rejecting his advances

On Friday, the Telangana Police arrested Mohd Azhar for slashing the throat of a 23-year-old girl in Hanamkonda town of Telangana. The accused had attacked the girl after she had rejected his love proposal.

The incident occurred at the victim’s house which falls within the limits of the Subedari police station in the town. According to the reports, the accused belongs to the Mondrai village in Warangal. He had met the victim a few years ago when she used to visit her relatives in Mondrai. His feelings for the victim drove him to Hanamkonda town where he requested the girl to meet outside once.

Uber threatened with legal action over lack of sharia-compliant pension

Uber’s UK pension provider is to redraw its new workforce scheme within months of its launch after a union complained the lack of a sharia-compliant investment option effectively excluded much of the ride-hailing app’s Muslim-majority workforce.

Auto-enrolment in a workplace pension scheme was one of the main practical benefits to drivers of Uber’s decision last year to reclassify them as workers, following a landmark ruling by the UK’s Supreme Court. It means drivers earning more than £10,000 a year receive contributions to their retirement fund worth 8 per cent of pensionable salary, with 3 per cent paid by their employer, and 5 per cent by the worker.

Saudi Arabia Bans Marvel's Next Superhero Film 'Doctor Strange'.

Marvel Studios' much anticipated movie "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" has been banned in Saudi Arabia and several other Arab countries due to the presence of a gay character.
The "Doctor Strange" sequel, which will release in the US on May 6, was originally scheduled for hit theatres in the Saudi Arabia and other Gulf countries on May 5.

According to Variety, the Saudi Arabian censors didn't issue the distribution certificate to the Benedict Cumberbatch-led superhero movie.

Hubballi Police suspects the role of Raza Academy in instigating Muslim mob to attack police station, temple: Reports

The investigation by the Hubballi police into the recent mob violence by the Islamist mob has revealed a suspected link to Raza Academy, a radical Islamist outfit responsible for the 2012 Azad Maidan riots in Mumbai.

According to the reports, the Hubballi police investigation suspects the role of Raza Academy in the recent violence against police personnel in the city. More than 200 Muslim youths had attacked and pelted stones at the old Hubballi police station, a nearby temple, and a hospital over an alleged offensive tweet put by an individual.

Hair cutting, beatings: Videos reveal brutal punishments at Iranian schools

School officials cutting students’ hair, slapping or punching them and hurling insults… These are some of the punishments inflicted on students at schools in Iran. Now thanks to smartphones, students are able to record videos of these incidents and share them online. Our Observer, a teacher in Iran, told us that although these types of punishments have become more rare in recent years, they still exist in some schools.

A video published on April 13 on an Iranian Telegram channel shows a shocking scene: a school vice-principal grabbing students by their hair and cutting pieces out at random. The video appears to have recorded by a student in a classroom above, looking down at the schoolyard.

During the recent visit to Pakistan of the ever-winsome and fiercely patriotic Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Islamabad), she made sure to visit Pakistan’s former prime minister Imran Khan, whose Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party proudly tweeted: “US Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (@Ilhan) called on @ImranKhanPTI in Bani Gala. They discussed Islamophobia & related issues. Ilhan Omar expressed her admiration for Imran Khan and his work for Muslims globally.” That’s right: there is war in Ukraine, the U.S. Southern border is nonexistent, crime is rampant, inflation has skyrocketed, and an American elected official found the time to travel halfway around the world to discuss “Islamophobia.”

This is an issue that is dear to both of their hearts. Omar is a cosponsor of the Combating International Islamophobia Act, which the House passed in December. The bill calls upon the president to appoint a “special envoy” to fight “Islamophobia”; this envoy will head up a State Department that will monitor the phenomenon. Omar’s bill, however, is wrongly focused in all kinds of ways, not least of which is the fact that it will combat efforts to “promote racial hatred” against Muslims, even though Islam is not a race and there are Muslims among people of all races. Meanwhile, the raucous House debate raised other problems with the bill as well, including the likelihood that it will inhibit counterterror efforts.

As with many other cases involving a migrant who reportedly killed his victims due to jihadist motives, a Somali man who killed three women in Würzburg in a stabbing spree last year while screaming “Allahu Akbar” will end up receiving institutional mental health treatment rather than head to prison.

The trial against the Somali began in Bavaria on Friday, with the court hearing how Abdirahman J., who came to Germany in 2015, stabbed and killed three women aged 24, 49, and 82 years within just five minutes in the early evening of June 25, 2021. Equipped with a 30-centimeter-long blade, the Somali migrant severely injured four other women, including two girls between the ages of 11 and 16, and slightly injured three others.

A Muslim student group at American University was set to co-sponsor an interfaith seder and Iftar event this week with the campus Hillel chapter, to commemorate Passover and Ramadan.

Then, in an Instagram post Saturday, the Muslim Student Association at the university in Washington, D.C., cancelled its participation in the event, citing Hillel’s support of Israel amid last week’s renewed violent clashes at Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa mosque.

The terrorist who murdered 3 Israelis at a bar in Tel Aviv and another Palestinian who shot at Israeli forces were both “defending the land of Palestine and the people’s honor” according to the Fatah Movement, which added that their terror was “for the sake of Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque.”

This message was delivered by Jenin District Governor Akram Rajoub when he conveyed condolences on behalf of PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas to the families of the two terrorist “Martyrs”: murderer Ra’ad Hazem and shooter Ahmed Al-Sa’adi.
