New UN Special Rapporteur on Palestinian issues compared ‘nakba’ to Holocaust

The U.N. Human Rights Council announced the appointment of a new Special Rapporteur on Israel on April 1, a position that is a “mandate to discriminate,” according to the UN Watch NGO. Israel is the only country to which a permanent investigator has been assigned.

“Our position is that everything under the mechanism of Item 7, the special rapporteur, anything that unfairly singles out Israel, there is no point in engaging on those matters,” a spokesperson for the Israeli Mission to the United Nations in Geneva told JNS.

Relatives of Jeremy Cohen, a 31-year-old French Jew who died two months ago after being hit by a tram in the town of Bobigny, near Paris, said Monday that his death was not an accident, but the result of an antisemitic attack.

Initially, his death was reported as a “pedestrian being run over,” but video footage released by Cohen’s family on Monday showed the moments leading to his death and indicated that the incident could have been triggered by an assault.

Celebrating Palestinian Mother’s Day on March 21, the PA stressed its Martyrdom worship ideology that Palestinian Media Watch has documented. The PA reiterated that dying for “Palestine” – offering the “strong red blood… of its sons,” is good, desired, and even expected of Palestinians.

Indonesian teacher sentenced to death for raping 13 students

An Indonesian teacher found guilty of raping 13 students at an Islamic boarding school, and who impregnated at least eight of the victims, was sentenced to death on Monday.

Herry Wirawan, 36, had been sentenced to life in prison in February, in a case that drew national attention to sexual abuse in the country’s religious schools.

But prosecutors, who had requested the death penalty and chemical castration, filed an appeal.

France: Anti-Semitic slogans at Islamo-left university

The Union of French Jewish Students (UEJF) published several photos of anti-Semitic graffiti on the walls of the University of Nanterre in the Hauts-de-Seine department on Thursday March 31, reports Cnews. The photos show “Hitler you are the best” written in red felt-tip pen or a Star of David under the word “media”. Another picture shows a phrase referring to the gas chambers.

The Representative Council of French Jewish Institutions (CRIF) immediately reported these actions and denounced them to the university management. “For more than twenty years, the University of Nanterre has been the epicentre of anti-Zionist, indigenist discourse in the academic world. It is basically here where the extreme left, but also the Islamist movements, first gained a foothold at the university, and they hold an extraordinary sway there today,” Yonathan Arfi, a member of CRIF’s executive office, criticised to Cnews.

At least 11 soldiers were killed after some terrorists locally dubbed as bandits raided a Nigerian military base in Polwire village in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State

He said the bandits came in large numbers on motorcycles and engaged the troops in a battle that lasted for two hours before dislodging them.

Three members of the Kaduna Vigilante Group were also killed during the attack.

Abbas openly calls on Palestinians to murder Israelis

After Israel killed three terrorists who had already carried out a number of terror attacks and were planning another imminent attack, Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas called on Palestinians to “dish out to them twice as much as we’ve received.”

A top advisor to Iran’s nuclear negotiating team jumped to the defense of Russia on Tuesday, saying US President Joe Biden was a “racist piece of garbage” because he called Vladimir Putin a war criminal.

“This racist piece of garbage was vice-president when Obama and Saudi Arabia destroyed Yemen. Biden also supported the invasion and occupation of Iraq. He was involved in the decimation of Libya & he supported ISIS/Al-Qaeda in Syria... Don’t racist western elites have any shame?” Mohammad Marandi tweeted.

France: Illegal Algerian migrant stabbed mother and daughter in their faces after daughter refused to marry him, say police

French police have arrested a 30-year-old Algerian illegal migrant accused of attempting to murder a mother and her daughter in an apartment in Bayonne in southwestern France, according to local reports.

The man is suspected of having stabbed a 64-year-old woman and her 28-year-old daughter in the face on Friday evening, resulting in severe injuries.

Police investigators state that the male was subject to an order to leave French territory (OQTF), but instead had stayed with the two women in Bayonne for several days. It is reported that the assailant became violent towards the women when he was informed the 28-year-old woman did not want to marry him, according to the Actu.fr news outlet.

THERE are only two Kashmiri Pandit families living in Chotigam village of Shopian – the Bhats and a neighbour. When militancy erupted in Kashmir and other Pandits left the Valley, including over a dozen families from Chotigam, the two decided to stay back.

On Monday evening, Anil Kumar Bhat was sitting outside his medical shop when he saw two youths drive up on a motorcycle, and one of them alight and go in. Anil thought they had come to buy some medicines. Suddenly, he says, gunshots punctuated the silence of the sleepy village, and Anil’s brother Bal Krishan Bhat came out screaming.

Anil says: “They fired at Bal Krishan with a pistol. They aimed at his head, but he covered it with his arms, and that saved him.”

Columnist for left-wing daily indicted on Erdoğan insult charges due to article on forest fires

A columnist for the left-wing Evrensel newspaper has been indicted on charges of insulting President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in an opinion piece in which he criticized the government response to wildfires in the country in the summer of 2021, Evrensel reported.

Columnist Ender İmrek faces charges of insulting the president in an article titled “Türkiye yanıyor, saray izliyor” (Turkey burns, the palace [a reference to Erdoğan] watches” dated July 31, 2021.

Indonesia jails hardline Muslim for terrorism offenses

An Indonesian court has sentenced a senior member of a banned hardline Muslim group to three years in prison for terrorism offenses.

Critics said the sentence was far too lenient considering the gravity of the crime committed.

Munarman, 53, who like many Indonesians goes by only one name, is a former secretary-general of the now-outlawed Islamic Defenders Front, a group responsible for inciting violence against religious minorities including Christians.
