AMEN! - Beautiful!

We do have storms in this short life, but God is with us.

I do have a fresh mug of hot coffee sitting in front of me, and it sure does smell good. Our weather right now is hot and dry, and we really need some rain, so send some of that rain down our way. I just heard part of a news clip that somewhere got a flash flood of 6" of rain in less than an hour. I didn't hear where, hopefully not up in your neck of the woods. We do need some rain, but not quite that fast. Picky - right?   Wink

Please do try and get some rest - and KEEP LOOKING UP!

Love In Christ,
Tom

I've enjoyed several old guy naps already today.

That 6 inches in an hour just might have been here. There was a point during the storm that I thought we might have to head to higher ground. The storm drains clogged up with leaves, branches and grass clippings and soon the road disappeared out of sight. The water came up to my front door before it slowed down and started to recede. The winds were up to 80 MPH fo awhile and quite a few trees and branches are down. So far there are no reports of any injuries or severe damage that I've heard about.

You can have all the rain you want. We've had more than enough this year. Many of the filds are behind in growth and might not be ready for harvesting before the first frosts hits this year. Here it is in August and many of the corn fields are still not knee high. Very few of the fields are ready for de-tasseling.

It's looking like we are going to be having a permanent member of the family here. The little dog that was my brothers is still with us and getting attached to us quickly. She is getting along just fine with Buster even though Buster has shown a bit of jealousy now and then. She loves to be held and will put her head up close to ours in a manner of hugging us. When she first got here she tried to run away and even headed toward the 40 mile trip back to what she knew as home.

I think that she has finally accepted this as home even though she still has not figured out the door length mirror on the bathroom door. She still tries to walk through it to that strange looking dog she sees in it.

Brother Roger,

I'm glad to hear that you and your family are safe after the storms. I think that the weather patterns have changed over the years. We used to have bad storms all the time, but we've really had a mild year. It seems that a lot of the rough weather has moved North and East of Oklahoma. The term "tornado alley" was well-deserved here for many years. Maybe it has something to do with a shift in the jet-stream. NO - it has nothing to do with so-called global warming. I mentioned this before Al Gore and his gang could turn it into a con-game.

It sounds like your new family member is going to be good. Loyal dogs like her do have to get used to new surroundings and especially a new master. Our 18 year old dog is still with us, and leaving him alone for just a hour is a major tragedy for him. He wants to be within inches of either my wife or myself 24/7. It's really more than just loyalty - they really do love us.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Weather has been known to take such shifts throughout history and will continue to do so as long as God wants it to.

My brother had fluffy for almost 4 yrs. She was sitting in his lap when the police found him on the health and welfare check. Yes, dogs do have more emotional attachments than many give them credit for. My brother suffered from congestive heart failure, kidney failure and emphysema. If my wife or I cough, sneeze or even take an extra deep breath she jumps and comes running to check us out. Such changes are difficult for them as it is for us. It does help somewhat that she was already familiar with my wife and I.

Brother Roger,

You and I have both talked about reasons why we love dogs. Now, make a huge contrast and think about why we love God. They both involve unconditional love, but God's love is obviously magnified countless times.

I was just thinking about this, and I've decided many times that I will always have a dog. I've only been without a dog short periods of time in my entire life. They've always given me much more than I've given them. Now, make the huge contrast with God again. I give thanks that I'm a purchased possession of Jesus Christ. I belong to Him, and He's done so much for me that it would be impossible to repay Him.

1 John 4:14-19 (AKJV)14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Savior of the world. 15 Whoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwells in him, and he in God. 16 And we have known and believed the love that God has to us. God is love; and he that dwells in love dwells in God, and God in him. 17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. 18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear: because fear has torment. He that fears is not made perfect in love. 19 We love him, because he first loved us.

YES, CHRIST did love us first - enough to die for us.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Hello brother David. I pray that you also will have a good day. We'll be spending the day at a going away party for a group of Soldiers that my son is a part of. They are departing for the first leg of their deployment tomorrow. After that we'll be spending time with our grandchildren. Another long day for us but it will all be worth the time and effort. (I'm taking coffee with me just to ensure that I have some.)

Hi Brothers, hope you have a good day

Thanks Brother David and the same to everyone.

Romans 11:33-36 (ESV)33 Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways! 34 “For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been his counselor?” 35 “Or who has given a gift to him that he might be repaid?” 36 For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.

Love In Christ,
Tom

A wonderful day yesterday at the park with the Troops. It was a comfortable temperature and no rain yesterday and today. We were able to see the troops off this morning. They are being escorted to the first leg of their journey by the Patriot Guard Riders. A wonderful group of Veterans and non-veterans that show great support for our Troops every chance they get.

Big spring like storms are hitting here right now. I made a big pot of coffee and filling up the thermos with it just in case the power goes out. Drinking coffee, watching the storms and getting some badly needed rest and as I do my mind goes back to an old, old song.

What does tomorrow hold
Nobody really knows
The future is never ours to see
So much uncertainty
Still we keep holding on to
Yesterday, when yesterday is gone
But even in the darkest night, we're safe inside His love
And that's where we still stay

In the hands of Jesus, we remain until we're home
Standing together, come what may
For we know that we will not be moved
We will remain in Jesus' hands

Just let your fear subside
Here it is safe inside
And though every storm is hard to see
We are bound by unity

For even as we struggle in our battle,
We know the victory is won
And no power on this earth can ever separate us now
We're in the hands of God

We will remain
In the hands of our Savior
We will remain
Even in our weakest hour
The power that strengthens us will never die
It will stand the test of time
Throughout all time

This is wonderful and I really needed it this morning!  It is exactly what I've been thinking and feeling this week.  Even in the midst of what I've been living the past couple of weeks, I know that God is right there with me and in fact mentioned to friends that I know God has me in the palm of his hands!
I have been to my storage unit to locate my dishes and pans that I will need when I move in a couple of weeks.  I was so amazing how God knew before I did that I would need a place right away and opened up that little studio for me.  It's just a block to work so think of the gas I will save and the rent is less than I'm paying my daughter right now!  God is so good to me!

Brothers and Sisters,

I give thanks that we see God working in our lives. Yes we are in His Hands, more so when we yield to Him and invite Him in for every facet of our lives. We have much to give thanks for! Sister Yvette, you and your family will remain in my prayers.

Brother Roger, I'm happy to hear that your son and his fellow soldiers got a nice send-off. They will be in my prayers. As you know, my home is also a place where the military is shown the respect and love they deserve.

Love In Christ,
Tom

more Gore, he can ruin a great day, with his garbage.

Well I'm on, reading today checking out a few things. I'm also doing better, as I have been in bed the past few days. But now, I have my coffee, and the Word before me. Nothing could be better, except if the Lord called us home right now.

AMEN BROTHER BOB!

I'm very happy to hear that you're better!

It would be wonderful if the RAPTURE was tonight, but CHRIST will come at His Perfect Time.

Until then - KEEP LOOKING UP!

Tom

Good Morning everyone!  I have my coffee and have done a bit of posting and getting breakfast for kids around here while everyone else sleeps.  I enjoy my mornings!
Things are still a bit rough around the house and in fact not comfortable at all.  I have checked with my boss and it is okay if I spend my work nights at the mission if I chose.  I may take her up on that.  Today is the 8th?  So that only leaves about 12 days before I move.  I find that I'm looking forward to living alone again with only drama being with the voices in my own head!  Grin

Yep!  I'm keeping my sense of humor and taking it with me!
