GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!

This is another wonderful day that the LORD has made - let us be glad and rejoice in it.

Pull up your chair - get a hot and fresh cup of coffee - and enjoy some spiritual food while your here.

Colossians 1:24-27 ASV  24  Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and fill up on my part that which is lacking of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body's sake, which is the church;  25  whereof I was made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which was given me to you-ward, to fulfil the word of God,  26  even the mystery which hath been hid for ages and generations: but now hath it been manifested to his saints,  27  to whom God was pleased to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

Colossians 1:24-27 AMP  24  [Even] now I rejoice in the midst of my sufferings on your behalf. And in my own person I am making up whatever is still lacking and remains to be completed [on our part] of Christ's afflictions, for the sake of His body, which is the church.  25  In it I became a minister in accordance with the divine stewardship which was entrusted to me for you [as its object and for your benefit], to make the Word of God fully known [among you]--  26  The mystery of which was hidden for ages and generations [from angels and men], but is now revealed to His holy people (the saints),  27  To whom God was pleased to make known how great for the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ within and among you, the Hope of [realizing the] glory.

____________________

Romans 5:1-2 ASV  1  Being therefore justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ;  2  through whom also we have had our access by faith into this grace wherein we stand; and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

Romans 5:1-2 AMP  1  THEREFORE, SINCE we are justified (acquitted, declared righteous, and given a right standing with God) through faith, let us [grasp the fact that we] have [the peace of reconciliation to hold and to enjoy] peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).  2  Through Him also we have [our] access (entrance, introduction) by faith into this grace (state of God's favor) in which we [firmly and safely] stand. And let us rejoice and exult in our hope of experiencing and enjoying the glory of God.

____________________

Romans 15:4-7 ASV  4  For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that through patience and through comfort of the scriptures we might have hope.  5  Now the God of patience and of comfort grant you to be of the same mind one with another according to Christ Jesus:  6  that with one accord ye may with one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.  7  Wherefore receive ye one another, even as Christ also received you, to the glory of God.

Romans 15:4-7 AMP  4  For whatever was thus written in former days was written for our instruction, that by [our steadfast and patient] endurance and the encouragement [drawn] from the Scriptures we might hold fast to and cherish hope.  5  Now may the God Who gives the power of patient endurance (steadfastness) and Who supplies encouragement, grant you to live in such mutual harmony and such full sympathy with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus,  6  That together you may [unanimously] with united hearts and one voice, praise and glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah).  7  Welcome and receive [to your hearts] one another, then, even as Christ has welcomed and received you, for the glory of God.

Ephesians 1:15-23 ASV  15  For this cause I also, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which is among you, and the love which ye show toward all the saints,  16  cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;  17  that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him;  18  having the eyes of your heart enlightened, that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,  19  and what the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to that working of the strength of his might  20  which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly places,  21  far above all rule, and authority, and power, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:  22  and he put all things in subjection under his feet, and gave him to be head over all things to the church,  23  which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

Ephesians 1:15-23 AMP  15  For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints (the people of God),  16  I do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers.  17  [For I always pray to] the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him,  18  By having the eyes of your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones),  19  And [so that you can know and understand] what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength,  20  Which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His [own] right hand in the heavenly [places],  21  Far above all rule and authority and power and dominion and every name that is named [above every title that can be conferred], not only in this age and in this world, but also in the age and the world which are to come.  22  And He has put all things under His feet and has appointed Him the universal and supreme Head of the church [a headship exercised throughout the church], [Ps. 8:6.]  23  Which is His body, the fullness of Him Who fills all in all [for in that body lives the full measure of Him Who makes everything complete, and Who fills everything everywhere with Himself].

I think that we could use Pecos Pete to get these storms under control here. We're getting hit with another really heavy one today.

Brother Roger,

We had storms all around us yesterday and last night, but things were mild here. We did get some rain, but not enough. I'm just hoping that the surrounding farm country got more rain. Regardless, it was enough to help. The weather man says more tonight.

We will be in a hotel for the next several days while our house is being remodeled. We probably should have left earlier because the house is already full of dust and paint fumes. The big, bad, and ugly work will begin tomorrow, and our kids will be running the show. They're running the old folks off for several days, and we're looking forward to missing the dust and paint fumes.

My wife tells me that she thinks the hotel has Internet access, so I'll at least try to drop by and say hello.

In the meantime - KEEP LOOKING UP!

Love In Christ,
Tom

Romans 3:10-31   10  as it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one;  11  There is none that understandeth, There is none that seeketh after God;  12  They have all turned aside, they are together become unprofitable; There is none that doeth good, no, not, so much as one:  13  Their throat is an open sepulchre; With their tongues they have used deceit: The poison of asps is under their lips:  14  Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:  15  Their feet are swift to shed blood;  16  Destruction and misery are in their ways;  17  And the way of peace have they not known:  18  There is no fear of God before their eyes.  19  Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it speaketh to them that are under the law; that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may be brought under the judgment of God:  20  because by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified in his sight; for through the law cometh the knowledge of sin.  21  But now apart from the law a righteousness of God hath been manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;  22  even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ unto all them that believe; for there is no distinction;  23  for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God;  24  being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:  25  whom God set forth to be a propitiation, through faith, in his blood, to show his righteousness because of the passing over of the sins done aforetime, in the forbearance of God;  26  for the showing, I say, of his righteousness at this present season: that he might himself be just, and the justifier of him that hath faith in Jesus.  27  Where then is the glorying? It is excluded. By what manner of law? of works? Nay: but by a law of faith.  28  We reckon therefore that a man is justified by faith apart from the works of the law.  29  Or is God the God of Jews only? is he not the God of Gentiles also? Yea, of Gentiles also:  30  if so be that God is one, and he shall justify the circumcision by faith, and the uncircumcision through faith.  31  Do we then make the law of none effect through faith? God forbid: nay, we establish the law.

Ephesians 2:1-10   1  And you did he make alive, when ye were dead through your trespasses and sins,  2  wherein ye once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the powers of the air, of the spirit that now worketh in the sons of disobedience;  3  among whom we also all once lived in the lust of our flesh, doing the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest: -  4  but God, being rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,  5  even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace have ye been saved),  6  and raised us up with him, and made us to sit with him in the heavenly places, in Christ Jesus:  7  that in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus:  8  for by grace have ye been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;  9  not of works, that no man should glory.  10  For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God afore prepared that we should walk in them.

Ephesians 3:8-21   8  Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, was this grace given, to preach unto the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;  9  and to make all men see what is the dispensation of the mystery which for ages hath been hid in God who created all things;  10  to the intent that now unto the principalities and the powers in the heavenly places might be made known through the church the manifold wisdom of God,  11  according to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:  12  in whom we have boldness and access in confidence through our faith in him.  13  Wherefore I ask that ye may not faint at my tribulations for you, which are your glory.  14  For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father,  15  from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named,  16  that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, that ye may be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inward man;  17  that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; to the end that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,  18  may be strong to apprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth,  19  and to know the love of Christ which passeth knowledge, that ye may be filled unto all the fulness of God.  20  Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,  21  unto him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus unto all generations for ever and ever. Amen.

If we could find Pecos Pete and make sure he had a strong lasso maybe he could bring some of this rain down there. We've had more than our share of it this year. All of the reservoirs and by waters are overflowing.

Enjoy your time in the hotel. Personally I would have been running at the first indication of that kind of dust.

I haven't seen Pecos Pete recently, but I'll look for him.

We're settled in a nice - clean room. We're worn out and looking forward to a rest. We did wait too late in getting away from the dust and fumes, but we're planning to catch up on some rest tomorrow.

I obviously do have an Internet connection. I don't know how fast it is, but it works just fine. I expected a hard time in trying to set up the network, but it was nothing but plugging it in. I'm sold on this little laptop now. It actually does everything the desktop does, but better. The graphics are even better than my desktop, so they packed a lot into a tiny case.

I'm probably going to make a few posts and call it a day. I'll be much smarter in the morning because I'm staying at a Holiday Inn Express.   Grin   I want to be a rocket scientist by morning.

Ephesians 3:9-12 KJV  And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:  10  To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,  11  According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:  12  In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.

Well the past few days, we've had hard thunderstorms here. One of the reasons I haven't been on. The other is, I've been dealing with to much pain. Not to mention I got bit up by mosquitoes.

Well I have my coffee and am enjoying the forum. Brother Tom, have fun in the motel, while you are there.

Hello Brother Bob,

I'm sorry to hear about you not feeling good. You know that you are in my prayers.

We're still in the motel, and things are very nice here, but we are ready for things to get back to normal. It's not like being home. We have no complaints, but we are going to be ready for home.

Love In Christ,
Tom

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!

We've got a lot of folks ill or out of pocket with moving or back to school, and that includes several moderators. I've been partially out of pocket and gone while work was being done to my home. We're back home now, but there's still a lot of work to do. At this point, we'll cheer for one totally functioning bathroom and shower.   Wink  It's funny how easy it is to be spoiled with things like that.

However, we do know:

Romans 8:28 ASV  And we know that to them that love God all things work together for good, even to them that are called according to his purpose.

I want to share something in Christian News:

Ravi Zacharias and Other Top Scholars Set to Argue Their 'Case For Christianity'

by Staff
August 27, 2009

MURRIETA, Calif., (christiansunite.com) -- On November 6-7, 2009, some of the country's top scholars such as Ravi Zacharias, Norman Geisler, Lee Strobel, Gary Habermas, Ron Rhodes, Ergun Caner, Ed Hindson, Greg Koukl and others will assemble in Diamond Bar, California, at 'The Case for Christianity' conference sponsored by Veritas Evangelical Seminary.

Lectures will address crucial components of the Christian Faith that have been debated by evangelical and secular theologians for decades, including the nature of truth, God, the historical reliability of the Bible, evidence for Christ's resurrection, the historical Jesus, and the case for Christ's second coming. In addition, former Muslim turned Christian theologian, Ergun Caner, will lecture on "Why I Am A Christian."

The President of Veritas Seminary, Joseph Holden, was asked why the school was sponsoring such a conference he replied, "Unlike many of the eastern religions which frown upon rational justification for belief, Christianity has always been a reasonable faith supported by historical, archaeological, philosophical and biblical evidence. This gathering will demonstrate that it takes more faith to be a non-Christian than it does to receive Christ. In Christianity, there is simply no basis on which to check our minds at the door." Normally, conferences of this magnitude require a facility that seats up to 10,000 to 20,000 people, however, the conference has adopted a smaller intimate setting in Diamond Bar which seats 2200.

The popularity of the event is evident since it is drawing spectators from all over the country and as far away as Germany and Brazil. For more information or to register online for "The Case for Christianity," visit ww.VeritasSeminary.com

YES, it does take more faith to be a Non-Christian! There's a mountain of evidence that Jesus Christ is real, and He is exactly who He said that He was. It's wonderful to know that He Lives and we have Eternal Life In Him. The world is turning to chaos and evil, but God never changes.

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!

We can finally see some light at the end of the tunnel in terms of the remodeling on our house. We even have a functioning shower now - inside the house. I added that last part for DreamWeaver just to let him know that it isn't just a garden hose in the back yard. Yes, we even have hot water.

I want to share something I read in a devotional yesterday. As Christians, we can live in Romans 8 with God's help. This is a profound statement, and you won't understand until you read Romans 8 and carefully try to absorb what God wants to give His children. It's quite beautiful, and it can apply right now, even in this short life. We are living in a time where the world is turning to evil and chaos, but Christians are not of this world. As Christians, we are born from above and are in Christ. Do yourself a big favor and Read Romans 8. In fact, read it often and consider all of the wonderful Promises of God to us. Many of them apply right now. We do have to live in this world a little bit longer, but God doesn't want us to be drug down with the world. His intentions for us are the opposite. He wants to pull us up, and He will catch us Up to Glory one day soon.

Love In Christ,

Romans 8:1-39 KJV  There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.  2  For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.  3  For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:  4  That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.  5  For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.  6  For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.  7  Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.  8  So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.  9  But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.  10  And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.  11  But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.  12  Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.  13  For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.  14  For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.  15  For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.  16  The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:  17  And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.  18  For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.  19  For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.  20  For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,  21  Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.  22  For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.  23  And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.  24  For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?  25  But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.  26  Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.  27  And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.  28  And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.  29  For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.  30  Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.  31  What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?  32  He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?  33  Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.  34  Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.  35  Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?  36  As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.  37  Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.  38  For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,  39  Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Well it's about time, you got hot & cold water piped into the house brother. I guess you got tired of running out to the well and pumping on the handle for your water. I would have thought you would have learned that lesson some time ago................. Grin Grin Grin
