Good Morning everyone!  I have my coffee and have done a bit of posting and getting breakfast for kids around here while everyone else sleeps.  I enjoy my mornings!
Things are still a bit rough around the house and in fact not comfortable at all.  I have checked with my boss and it is okay if I spend my work nights at the mission if I chose.  I may take her up on that.  Today is the 8th?  So that only leaves about 12 days before I move.  I find that I'm looking forward to living alone again with only drama being with the voices in my own head!  Grin

Yep!  I'm keeping my sense of humor and taking it with me!

Grin  I used to suffer with multiple personalities, but now I enjoy them - we're just fine.   Wink

I know this is a difficult time for you, and you are in my prayers. It does appear that God is working things out, and nobody knows what good might come from this situation. Trusting God is our part, and I know that you are doing just that.

Here's some great advice for all of us from the greatest source of all truth:

Proverbs 3:1-6 (ESV)1 My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments, 2 for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you. 3 Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart. 4 So you will find favor and good success in the sight of God and man. 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

I was reading this portion of Scripture and following the cross references. It's a nice study that reinforces what we should already know: He is always with us and wants to love us in ways that the world can't do. We just many times need to LET GO AND LET GOD.

Psalms 119:88-91 (ESV)88 In your steadfast love give me life, that I may keep the testimonies of your mouth. 89 Forever, O Lord, your word is firmly fixed in the heavens. 90 Your faithfulness endures to all generations; you have established the earth, and it stands fast. 91 By your appointment they stand this day, for all things are your servants.

Love In Christ,
Tom

1 Peter 5:6-7 (ESV)6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, 7 casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.

Hello Everyone!

I hope that all are having a great day.

I've been reading some very nice inspirational quotes in the last few minutes, and I thought that I would share a few with you.

"Christian spirituality does not begin with us talking about our experience; it beings with listening to God call us, heal us, forgive us." — Eugene Peterson

"Christianity is not a theory or speculation, but a life; not a philosophy of life, but a living presence." — Samuel Taylor Coleridge

"Christianity, if false, is of no importance, and if true, of infinite importance. The only thing it cannot be is moderately important." — C. S. Lewis

As for me, I'll tell everyone that Jesus Christ is real, He Lives, and I belong to Him. I give thanks for this.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Hello Everyone,

I realize it isn't normal coffee-time for most folks, but it is for me.   Wink

I've been reflecting some today on the chaos of this world and looking at the opposite end of the spectrum - Peace with God.

This world is becoming an evil, insane, and Godless place, but Christians still have Peace with God. This is something that the world can't take away from us. There's no doubt in my mind that the world is going to try to take many things away from Christians. Most of the world hates Jesus Christ, so it should be obvious that the world will hate us. In the midst of all the noise and chaos of the world, we can still:

Philippians 4:4-9 KJV  Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.  5  Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.  6  Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.  7  And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.  8  Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.  9  Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

Brothers and Sisters, the Lord is at hand. Truly, the Lord is at hand and He is coming again soon.

Love in Christ,
Tom

It would be wonderful if the RAPTURE was tonight, but CHRIST will come at His Perfect Time.

Until then - KEEP LOOKING UP!

Love in Christ,
Tom

AMEN brother, though I do wish it was tonight He would call us home. But...... He will do it in His time, not man's time.

In the mean time, I've got my coffee before I head off to bed.

Good morning everyone!

I'm away from my regular  computer, the programs I like to use, and most of my Christian materials - so I'm somewhat out of my comfort zone for an unknown period of time. First, I'm having to get used to a smaller and flatter keyboard on a laptop. The keys aren't in the same place, and I'm making a ton of typos.

I do have my coffee, and that works just great - plain and black. I might be able to figure out how to do my email from this laptop if I install more programs. My wife does Hotmail and doesn't need an email program. I'll just say that this is going to be interesting. I do have a Bible Study program installed on this laptop, so I at least have the main thing I like to do. It's funny how you get used to certain programs, set things up the way that you want, and get uncomfortable pretty quickly when you move to a different computer. Even small examples like the Bible quotes I like to use makes a big difference. I'm clicking for things that aren't there.   Grin

I know what you mean BEP.  I helped my 71 year old mom get set up on Facebook the other day using her laptop!  Other than the main typing keys, I couldn't find a thing!
By the way don't let mom's age fool you......she a pistol!   Grin

I'm sitting here feeling all thumbs, but things are beginning to be a little bit easier. I'm used to new mail pop-ups and all kinds of things that aren't there, so I'm in the twilight zone. This little laptop does have plenty of memory, so I now have e-Sword fired up in the background. Being able to at least use e-Sword is some comfort, and I'm thinking that I can add a few of the other things that I like today.

Sister, my Mother is 88 years old, and I think that she can outrun your Mother.   Grin

By the way, I barely know what Facebook is, and I guess it's time to find out more about it. I also know almost nothing about "twitter", but I don't think that I want to learn. I can't keep up with what I have now, so learning a bunch of new fancy things will have to wait. I'll assume that your Mother might call me wimpy since she's already doing the new stuff. She might even say, "What's wrong with that young man? He needs to get his act together!" Just tell her that I'm sorry and I'll try to be a good boy.   Wink

Brother Laptops are good, when you don't have access to a regular computer. I have one for those days I'm down in bed, I can read my electronic Bible, do Bible studies, etc., etc.

Nope I don't have a facebook account, nor do I want one. There is just to much going around today, where I'm thinking safety for myself and family.

If you are confused I used to write with the name "livingbyfaith" .  When I tried to get on I forgot my old password so came on with a new id and password'

Hello Livingbyfaith,

It's nice to hear from you. Yes, I remember you, mainly because I like your writing.

Some folks get used to new things all the time with no problem. Personally, I like to get comfortable with software and hardware. I learn and do new things when I think it will help me better serve the Lord. I like user friendly software, and I usually stick with it once I like something and get comfortable with it. In other words, I really don't want to cooperate in the race for new technology every day.   Wink

Love In Christ,
Tom

A Portion Of Scripture I love:

Ephesians 1:6-12 KJV  To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.  (7)  In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;  (8 )  Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;  (9)  Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:  (10)  That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:  (11)  In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:  (12)  That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.

Brother Bob,

It looks like I'll be using a laptop quite a bit. I'm getting more comfortable with it a little bit at a time, and I have added some programs to get my mail and do a few other things that are daily routine things that have been left undone. So, I'm behind again. It's a sad thing when an old guy gets settled in with his own editor and all kinds of programs set up JUST RIGHT.

I'll give you a laugh. The laptop has a flat place in front of the keyboard that doubles as a slide kind of mouse. We also got a wireless mouse with the laptop, so we don't use that flat space. Here's the punchline:  the screen kept jumping pages at a time, and I was having a hard time getting a post done. I didn't realize that I was rubbing that flat place as I typed. So, now I either have to learn how to avoid that flat spot while typing or see if it can be turned off.   Grin   I first had no idea what was going on and considered the laptop might be haunted.

You have to remember that it wasn't that long ago that I started using a mouse at all. I used the keyboard and was lightning fast with DOS. They started using Windows at work, so Gates finally got his way. I was perfectly happy with DOS. Everything was small, elegant, logical, and worked. Now, look what Bill Gates has done.   Grin

Just sitting here watching a thunderstorm move through and enjoying my coffee. I heard that there has been snow and really cold temps in Idaho and Wyoming. The Big Horn Mountains and Yellowstone National Park has had such weather before in recorded history but it has been a good many years since it has happened. If this moisture pattern continues into the winter months here then there will be an awful lot of snow. I may end up being snowed in most of the winter.

Brother, our weather here is hot and dry right now. We would love to have some rain - even if wind came with it.

A couple of snags have been hit in the first few jobs on our house, so things are going to be slower than planned. I am getting more comfortable with this little laptop.

You mentioned COFFEE, and I have had some - but the mention of it means another fresh mug.   Wink

I am having a good day. I came across some excellent Christian materials that I don't have, so I am enjoying them. I plan to share with everyone soon. As usual, I really enjoy older materials and the older writing styles. It seems as if they are less spoiled and less touched by the world. One can actually see the love of the Lord from the author in their writing. Maybe some of this is just my personal observations, but I did try to explain it.

Love In Christ,
Tom

1 Thessalonians 2:13 KJV  13  For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.

Good Morning Everyone!

I slept almost like a normal person last night and got up early this morning after a refreshing rest. I say "normal" because I usually don't know when I'll be able to sleep. Night or day - it really doesn't matter.   Wink

Okay DreamWeaver, I left you the perfect opportunity to harpoon me.   Grin

I'm enjoying some fresh coffee and reading a variety of excellent Christian materials. This is a great way to start the day. I would like to share the portion of Scripture I'm reading right now:

Galatians 4:4-7 KJV  But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,  5  To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.  6  And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.  7  Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

How wonderful and beautiful is this? Think about this and give thanks! Read the below portion of Scripture and again give thanks!

Love In Christ,
Tom

Romans 8:14-17 KJV  For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.  15  For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.  16  The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:  17  And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
