A staffer at a cafe in Istanbul's Üsküdar district on March 14 warned a couple holding hands, telling them to "keep their distance."

"Keep your distance, you cannot sit this close. We do not allow such things here," the staffer told the couple who was sitting at Çimen Cafe.

When the staffer saw that the couple was recording his remarks on their mobile phone, he walked away. The staffer's remarks were also met with reaction from other customers.

Three Copts slaughtered by a group of Muslims in Minya over a 70-year-old feud

The execution is ostensibly a “revenge" killing for a death that occurred decades ago. The group killed the Christians and danced over their bodies. Upon returning to their village, they were greeted by songs, celebrations and cries of “Allah Akbar”. The three brothers who were killed had nothing to do with past events.

Cairo (AsiaNews) – Three Christian Coptic brothers were brutally killed by a group of six Muslims, who allegedly acted in revenge to “cleanse” the blood of a relative who died about 70 years ago.

At the time of the attack, 1 March, the victims – Youssef Youssef Youssef, Afifi Youssef Youssef and Bushra Youssef Youssef – were working in an agricultural field, but news of the incident became public only recently.

The attackers, from the village of Jaweer, killed the Christian brothers, execution style while they were in the village of Ibshadat, Mallawi district, Minya governorate. They reportedly performed a ghoulish dance during the killing and then mutilated the bodies.

Aprison sentence of six years. That is what the Attorney General of Antwerp is demanding for Ramesz H. The reason? In 2017, the Afghan raped a 16-year-old girl from Rijkevorsel. The man was the same age at the time of the crime. An amendment to the decree in the Flemish Parliament was needed to convict him as an adult.

She was medically examined the same night.

The Taliban will allow girls around Afghanistan to return to class when high schools open next week, an education official said on Thursday, after months of uncertainty over whether the group would allow full access to education for girls and women.

"All schools are going to open to all boys and girls," Aziz Ahmad Rayan, a spokesman for the Ministry of Education, told Reuters.

An anonymous Telegram account has leaked personal details and documents of Mossad chief David Barnea in a video that claims to be the result of a yearslong surveillance operation.

Released on Wednesday on the account Open Hands, the video features pictures of Barnea's house, tax documents, flight receipts, personal photos and other content. The material is edited into a presentation featuring English, Hebrew and Arabic writing and interviews with anonymised people purporting to be Israeli intelligence officials.

Four residents of East Jerusalem were indicted Friday over alleged ties to Hamas, with police prosecutors charging some to have planned attacks in the coming month after conducting weapons training and meetings with terror group officials in Turkey.

Following a lengthy joint investigation with the Shin Bet security agency, police said three of the suspects — a family from Sur Baher — were detained upon their entry to Israel last month.

A fourth suspect — a resident of Beit Hanina — was also arrested, with 500,000 NIS (approximately $155,000) in cash, vehicles, and other assets seized, as well as the freezing of bank accounts belonging to a charitable organization.

The indictment for the murder in Oey reads like a gruesome thriller: Qerim B.* (62) allegedly beat the mother of his four children to death with a hammer in a scrap yard in March 2020 and then “almost completely decapitated” her with a 35 cm long kitchen cleaver. He allegedly hit the head of Vana V.* (†31) with the two tools a total of 14 times and her neck four times.

Since then, B. has been in prison: At first he was in pre-trial detention, but in the meantime he has been transferred to prison. On Wednesday, he will now be tried at the Regional Court Oberland in Thun.

The trial at the regional court in Thun starts this morning with the questioning of the perpetrator. The suspected murderer willingly gives information to the judges in his mother tongue, the translator mediates because he does not speak German. The 62-year-old confessed, but he said he could not remember the exact course of events due to his diabetes – he had had blackouts: “When I grabbed it, I was not aware that it was a hammer. I forgot myself, no longer felt anything, no longer saw anything”.

Palestinian Islamic scholar Yousef Makharzah said in a March 6, 2022 speech that aired on the Hizb-ut-Tahrir-affiliated Al-Waqiyah TV (Lebanon) that Syrian refugees were driven to Europe by "oppressive Europeans" and that the Europeans are the cause of the Muslims' tragedies. Makharzah claimed that Europeans practice bestiality to the extent that "they have sex with animals and beasts more than with humans." He also said that that Western civilization is inferior, asinine, and racist, and that it causes "a man to oppress his brother and kill him with no justification." In addition, Makharzah asserted that when European colonialist came to Muslim countries, they made the Muslims "more ignorant and shallow" so they would purchase the European consumer goods.

The Islamic State (ISIS) is back. Five years after Donald Trump entered the Oval Office and quickly brought about the destruction of its caliphate in Iraq and Syria, ISIS is resurgent and wealthy. Could this have anything to do with Old Joe Biden’s misrule? Of course.

To be sure, there are other factors at play as well. An Iraqi security official said Friday that “recent assessments … put the group’s reserves at between $25 million and $50 million.” That could be a conservative estimate: the Wall Street Journal reported in September 2020 that ISIS had “assets ranging into the hundreds of millions of dollars across the Middle East and Central Asia,” according to “officials and government records.”

Palestinian propagandists and their willing collaborators in the Western media have been bewailing the fact that the Palestinians haven’t been given the sympathy that is being lavished on Ukrainians, even though their situations – they claim — are identical, for both Ukrainians and Palestinians are brave peoples being denied their national rights by their oppressors, Russia and Israel, respectively. Sean Durns reports scathingly on this latest Palestinian effort to win international sympathy here: “Media Outlets Use Russia’s Invasion of Ukraine to Attack Israel,” Algemeiner, March 10, 2022:

…Russia’s invasion of Ukraine isn’t anything like Israel’s security situation. Indeed, there is no legitimate comparison whatsoever.

The Washington Post, however, pretends otherwise. On March 7, the newspaper’s global opinion section published an op-ed titled, “The world of inconsistencies between Ukraine, the Middle East, and beyond,” by Khaled Beydoun. The author is an associate professor at Wayne State University where he specializes in “Islamophobia, national security and anti-terrorism law.” But judging by his Post opinion piece, his real expertise lies in historically illiterate comparisons.
