What is a moderator

Hello Sister May,

There's nothing to apologize about, and you certainly didn't do anything wrong. I was just trying to give you some helpful information about trying to keep some things private on the Internet because of what can be done by some folks who get that information.

The best example is advertisers getting your email address, and they can if you don't have your email address marked as "hidden" in your profile. It could lead to tons of advertising coming to your email account, including pornographic advertising. That's why we try to encourage our users to keep their email address private by marking their profile "hidden email". Marking your email address as hidden prevents all kinds of problems. The same is true for keeping other personal identifiers private. The wrong people can use it for identity theft and sometimes even get enough information to charge on your credit cards or get money out of your bank account. These are the same reasons why I keep my personal identifiers private and don't share them with the many thousands of folks who read the forum every day. As far as the world is concerned, I'm a male using the forum name of Blackeyedpeas, and that's all they know. There's nothing that anyone can do with this limited information, so what needs to be private is private.

You asked what a moderator is. All of our moderators are unpaid Christian volunteers who try to make the forum a safe and clean place for family use, including children. We enforce the forum rules, try to protect and help our users, and we post a variety of wholesome Christian materials. There are many people in this world who hate Christians and Christian sites of any kind. There are many attempts to put inappropriate and even dirty material on the forum. The moderators stop them and ban their account so they can't do it again. Moderators also try to keep peace on the forum. If users become angry with each other, we try to calm them down. This is the basic job of a moderator, and it has to be done 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Sister, I hope this helps some. I'm sorry if I gave you the impression that you did something wrong. You've done nothing wrong, and you are a very pleasant and sweet person to converse with.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Hello Sister May,

I'm very happy to help you.

You will see a button near the top of your screen that has a label of "Profile". Click the profile button.

There will be a menu on the left of the settings, and you will see one near the top labeled as "Account Related Settings". Click on "Account Related Settings".

You will now see your settings for email and one with a box labeled "hide email from public". Click your mouse in that box and you should now see a check mark in the box next to "hide email from public". Near the bottom of your screen, you'll see "save changes". Click save changes and you're done. Click the home button near the top of the screen to go back to the forum.

The forum has an excellent help system you can get all kinds of detailed information from. There's a "Help" button near the top of your screen to the left. It's just to the right side of the "Home" button. The help system really is excellent and gives information about everything. I hope this helps you. We also have additional help information in our "Questions And Answers Area".

Love In Christ,
Tom

Hi Tom,
Hope by God's grace you spend a nice day
Tomorrow @ Women Meeting we will have a whole day fasting & praying
The aim of the meeting we want to see the Almighty God power
With the daily burden of life & luxury life, we have not the same faith as the first day
we want to humble ourselves in God's present
We want Him to be in control our life 100 %
JESUS IS COMING SOON
So we must be ready to welcome him
Jesus has blessed but we will leave all on earth only our faith in Him will be rewarded

Amen and Thank You Sister May!

As Christians, we should all be anxiously awaiting His Glorious Appearing. For Christians, that will the the Rapture, and we will be going Home to Heaven. Until then, we can live each day as a living testimony for Him, give Thanks, and pray that He uses us for His Perfect Will. I do believe that the time is growing short, and I think that most of us will still be physically alive at the Rapture.

In the meantime, we can smile and KEEP LOOKING UP!

Love In Christ,
Tom

Sister MAY

Hello Sister May,

I'm sorry to hear that you've been ill. I do understand how we can get closer and stronger in CHRIST when we face trials and other difficulties, and I give thanks for this. God is always with us - more so when we invite HIM and want to be close to HIM.

I am glad to hear that you're feeling better. I'm also happy to hear that you wisely used your time of illness.

You mentioned wanting to share some Christian Wallpaper with me and not being able to figure out how. Sharing Christian graphics on a forum is a common problem, so we have several threads in the "Questions and Answers" area about how to post graphics. It's confusing because you first have to place the graphic on the Internet with a hot link to it. There are many more details in the help threads. There are many free graphics services that will store your graphics so they can be posted on the forum and really anywhere on the Internet. I use Photobucket to store my graphics. Photobucket's free account is more than adequate for most people, but I have a pay account because of the large number of graphics I post and use in various places. Photobucket even has excellent help information on how to use your graphics stored there. The first step is always having a place on the Internet to store your graphics. Let us know if you need more help.

Here's an example of an address for one of my graphics:

Hello Sister May,

You're most welcome. Many of us suffer from illnesses that limit what we can do in this short life, but God is with us. I'm convinced that prayer and God's help is what keeps many of us going. I know that is true for me. I can't rely on my strength, but I can rely on His Strength. I give thanks that He allows me to serve Him.

Love In Christ,
Tom

2 Corinthians 4:1-18 ASV  1  Therefore seeing we have this ministry, even as we obtained mercy, we faint not:  2  but we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by the manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.  3  And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled in them that perish:  4  in whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not dawn upon them.  5  For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake.  6  Seeing it is God, that said, Light shall shine out of darkness, who shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.  7  But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the exceeding greatness of the power may be of God, and not from ourselves;  8  we are pressed on every side, yet not straitened; perplexed, yet not unto despair;  9  pursued, yet not forsaken; smitten down, yet not destroyed;  10  always bearing about in the body the dying of Jesus, that the life also of Jesus may be manifested in our body.  11  For we who live are always delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus may be manifested in our mortal flesh.  12  So then death worketh in us, but life in you.  13  But having the same spirit of faith, according to that which is written, I believed, and therefore did I speak; we also believe, and therefore also we speak;  14  knowing that he that raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also with Jesus, and shall present us with you.  15  For all things are for your sakes, that the grace, being multiplied through the many, may cause the thanksgiving to abound unto the glory of God.  16  Wherefore we faint not; but though our outward man is decaying, yet our inward man is renewed day by day.  17  For our light affliction, which is for the moment, worketh for us more and more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory;  18  while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Hello Sister May,

It's great to hear from you. I understand about getting busy. You are definitely in our prayers.

Let me take this opportunity to share some favorite portions of Scripture:

Colossians 1:24-27 ASV  24  Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and fill up on my part that which is lacking of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body's sake, which is the church;  25  whereof I was made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which was given me to you-ward, to fulfil the word of God,  26  even the mystery which hath been hid for ages and generations: but now hath it been manifested to his saints,  27  to whom God was pleased to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

Colossians 1:24-27 AMP  24  [Even] now I rejoice in the midst of my sufferings on your behalf. And in my own person I am making up whatever is still lacking and remains to be completed [on our part] of Christ's afflictions, for the sake of His body, which is the church.  25  In it I became a minister in accordance with the divine stewardship which was entrusted to me for you [as its object and for your benefit], to make the Word of God fully known [among you]--  26  The mystery of which was hidden for ages and generations [from angels and men], but is now revealed to His holy people (the saints),  27  To whom God was pleased to make known how great for the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ within and among you, the Hope of [realizing the] glory.

Romans 5:1-2 ASV  1  Being therefore justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ;  2  through whom also we have had our access by faith into this grace wherein we stand; and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

Romans 5:1-2 AMP  1  THEREFORE, SINCE we are justified (acquitted, declared righteous, and given a right standing with God) through faith, let us [grasp the fact that we] have [the peace of reconciliation to hold and to enjoy] peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).  2  Through Him also we have [our] access (entrance, introduction) by faith into this grace (state of God's favor) in which we [firmly and safely] stand. And let us rejoice and exult in our hope of experiencing and enjoying the glory of God.

____________________

Romans 15:4-7 ASV  4  For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that through patience and through comfort of the scriptures we might have hope.  5  Now the God of patience and of comfort grant you to be of the same mind one with another according to Christ Jesus:  6  that with one accord ye may with one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.  7  Wherefore receive ye one another, even as Christ also received you, to the glory of God.

Romans 15:4-7 AMP  4  For whatever was thus written in former days was written for our instruction, that by [our steadfast and patient] endurance and the encouragement [drawn] from the Scriptures we might hold fast to and cherish hope.  5  Now may the God Who gives the power of patient endurance (steadfastness) and Who supplies encouragement, grant you to live in such mutual harmony and such full sympathy with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus,  6  That together you may [unanimously] with united hearts and one voice, praise and glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah).  7  Welcome and receive [to your hearts] one another, then, even as Christ has welcomed and received you, for the glory of God.

Ephesians 1:15-23 ASV  15  For this cause I also, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which is among you, and the love which ye show toward all the saints,  16  cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;  17  that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him;  18  having the eyes of your heart enlightened, that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,  19  and what the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to that working of the strength of his might  20  which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly places,  21  far above all rule, and authority, and power, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:  22  and he put all things in subjection under his feet, and gave him to be head over all things to the church,  23  which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

Ephesians 1:15-23 AMP  15  For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints (the people of God),  16  I do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers.  17  [For I always pray to] the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him,  18  By having the eyes of your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones),  19  And [so that you can know and understand] what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength,  20  Which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His [own] right hand in the heavenly [places],  21  Far above all rule and authority and power and dominion and every name that is named [above every title that can be conferred], not only in this age and in this world, but also in the age and the world which are to come.  22  And He has put all things under His feet and has appointed Him the universal and supreme Head of the church [a headship exercised throughout the church], [Ps. 8:6.]  23  Which is His body, the fullness of Him Who fills all in all [for in that body lives the full measure of Him Who makes everything complete, and Who fills everything everywhere with Himself].

Hello Sister May,

I really don't know what to think about the swine flu. I asked my doctor about the shot on my last visit. He said that there would be a shortage and that people most at risk would be given the shot first. He said that older people had some immunity built up over the years and that children and young people were most at risk in getting swine flu. I expressed my concern for my grandchildren, and the doctor said they have effective medications and treatments, but it was only common sense to give them the flu shot when it became available. The doctor said to pay close attention to anything that might be the flu and see the doctor quickly, especially for children. He said that those who have had the flu and flu shots multiple times are less at risk because of natural immunity being built up in the body. So, the younger a person is, the less immunity they will have. For parents, I think this is a serious matter for prayer and close attention for their children.

Sister, I really don't know much about this except for what my doctor explained to me. I really just repeated what he told me, and I hope this helps.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Hi,
Thank for your comments
Psalms 91
GOD OUR PROTECTOR
whoever goes to the Lord for safety
whoever remains under the protection of the Almighty
can say to him,
Your are my defender and protector
You are my God; in you I trust
he will keep you safe from all hidden dangers and from all deadly diseases
He will cover you with his wings; you will be safe in his care; his faithfulness will protect and defend you
You need not to fear any danger at night or a sudden attacks during the day or the plagues that strike in the dark or the evils that kill in daylight
