Hi May,

Well lets see, I am married, 51 years old and am a Pastor in my church. I live in Arizona, in the United States. We also have members that are in Europe, Canada, the Philippines, as well as Great Britain.

Please feel free, to just jump into a conversation you would enjoy. Or start a new topic, and see how others respond to your topic.

We do enjoy ourselves in fellowship, as you have seen. Yes we do carry on a bit, least Pastor Roger does.......... and GrammyLuv (Yvette).............. and Blackeyedpeas (Tom)................... and I guess I (Bob) do as well. There is also Brother Jerry, and brother David, who are also on the forum who also have some fun.

But we all put God first in our lives. When the time to be serious comes, we get serious very fast. We do have children as young as 8 years old, visit Christians Unite forum.

See you later sister....................  :D :D

Hello May and welcome!  I'm sorry I'm late in getting here to welcome you.  I'm usually only on in the early morning as I work the evenings and weekends.  Now that I'm living with my daughter and her family, it's a bit harder to get on here as there are 3 adults that use the one computer!  I hope you enjoy our forums and as others have told you feel free to jump right on in!
In Christ,
Yvette

No, May, I have not been to Mauritius.  But I have been to several Asian countries when I was in the travel industry and it was quite interesting and educational, even from a Christian prospective.  Gave me a love for those types of missions in countries where there is alot of idol worship and superstition.

Thanks for your prayers.  God bless you, too!

Thanks, May, for telling about your worship service.  That is nice that you are helping to lead in praise and worship.  And yes, when there is harmony between believers that is very good.  Some grow faster than others and we should all try to be patient with each other.

I hope to get to Good Friday Service tomorrow.  Our church has it from noon to 3 p.m. and you can come and go as you please.  I like the service.  A few pastors from area churches will speak and we also sing hymns, and have some soloists sing, too.

Hello Sister May,

Being a moderator here makes me somewhat of a target for some of the folks I have to ban, so I don't give out personal information. I hope that you understand. Generally, it's not a good idea for anyone to give out personal information on a forum that can be read by the entire world. This is one reason why we ask our member to list their email address as hidden in their forum profiles. It's also the reason why we don't use our real names in posting. Some of the wrong types of folks put this information together and use it for identity theft or filling up your email with junk.

I make and collect Christian graphics and have done so for many years. I first started making them because very few were available. Now, there are thousands of Christian graphics available on the Internet.

Here's a link for free Christian Clipart on Christians Unite:
http://clipart.christiansunite.com/

Here's a link for free Christian Wallpaper on Christians Unite:
http://wallpaper.christiansunite.com/

Here's a link on the forum for free Christian graphics that are mainly Bible Verse graphics:
http://forums.christiansunite.com/index.php?topic=21332.0

If you do a Google search for "Christian Graphics", you'll find thousands of free Christian graphics. Most of them are clearly labeled as "free for non-commercial use", but there are other requirements on some graphic sites. You just need to read their terms of use. All of the ones here are free to use just as long as money is never involved.

You might also want to read several threads in our "Questions and Help" area about posting graphics. You need a place to store your graphics that has an Internet address for each graphic you want to use. Quite a few places offer this as a free service. I use "Photobucket", but there are many others. There has to be a hot link to the graphic at all times before it can be used in a post.

As an example:

http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i160/tlr10/verse/Verse001.gif

The above is the address to one of the graphics that I made shown below:

Sister, I hope this helps you some. There are much better details in our "Question and Help" area of the forum.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Hello Sister May,

There's nothing to apologize about, and you certainly didn't do anything wrong. I was just trying to give you some helpful information about trying to keep some things private on the Internet because of what can be done by some folks who get that information.

The best example is advertisers getting your email address, and they can if you don't have your email address marked as "hidden" in your profile. It could lead to tons of advertising coming to your email account, including pornographic advertising. That's why we try to encourage our users to keep their email address private by marking their profile "hidden email". Marking your email address as hidden prevents all kinds of problems. The same is true for keeping other personal identifiers private. The wrong people can use it for identity theft and sometimes even get enough information to charge on your credit cards or get money out of your bank account. These are the same reasons why I keep my personal identifiers private and don't share them with the many thousands of folks who read the forum every day. As far as the world is concerned, I'm a male using the forum name of Blackeyedpeas, and that's all they know. There's nothing that anyone can do with this limited information, so what needs to be private is private.

You asked what a moderator is. All of our moderators are unpaid Christian volunteers who try to make the forum a safe and clean place for family use, including children. We enforce the forum rules, try to protect and help our users, and we post a variety of wholesome Christian materials. There are many people in this world who hate Christians and Christian sites of any kind. There are many attempts to put inappropriate and even dirty material on the forum. The moderators stop them and ban their account so they can't do it again. Moderators also try to keep peace on the forum. If users become angry with each other, we try to calm them down. This is the basic job of a moderator, and it has to be done 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Sister, I hope this helps some. I'm sorry if I gave you the impression that you did something wrong. You've done nothing wrong, and you are a very pleasant and sweet person to converse with.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Philippians 4:7 ASV  And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

Hello Sister May,

I'm very happy to help you.

You will see a button near the top of your screen that has a label of "Profile". Click the profile button.

There will be a menu on the left of the settings, and you will see one near the top labeled as "Account Related Settings". Click on "Account Related Settings".

You will now see your settings for email and one with a box labeled "hide email from public". Click your mouse in that box and you should now see a check mark in the box next to "hide email from public". Near the bottom of your screen, you'll see "save changes". Click save changes and you're done. Click the home button near the top of the screen to go back to the forum.

The forum has an excellent help system you can get all kinds of detailed information from. There's a "Help" button near the top of your screen to the left. It's just to the right side of the "Home" button. The help system really is excellent and gives information about everything. I hope this helps you. We also have additional help information in our "Questions And Answers Area".

Love In Christ,
Tom

Amen and Thank You Sister May!

As Christians, we should all be anxiously awaiting His Glorious Appearing. For Christians, that will the the Rapture, and we will be going Home to Heaven. Until then, we can live each day as a living testimony for Him, give Thanks, and pray that He uses us for His Perfect Will. I do believe that the time is growing short, and I think that most of us will still be physically alive at the Rapture.

In the meantime, we can smile and KEEP LOOKING UP!

Love In Christ,
Tom

Sister MAY

Hello Sister May,

I'm sorry to hear that you've been ill. I do understand how we can get closer and stronger in CHRIST when we face trials and other difficulties, and I give thanks for this. God is always with us - more so when we invite HIM and want to be close to HIM.

I am glad to hear that you're feeling better. I'm also happy to hear that you wisely used your time of illness.

You mentioned wanting to share some Christian Wallpaper with me and not being able to figure out how. Sharing Christian graphics on a forum is a common problem, so we have several threads in the "Questions and Answers" area about how to post graphics. It's confusing because you first have to place the graphic on the Internet with a hot link to it. There are many more details in the help threads. There are many free graphics services that will store your graphics so they can be posted on the forum and really anywhere on the Internet. I use Photobucket to store my graphics. Photobucket's free account is more than adequate for most people, but I have a pay account because of the large number of graphics I post and use in various places. Photobucket even has excellent help information on how to use your graphics stored there. The first step is always having a place on the Internet to store your graphics. Let us know if you need more help.

Here's an example of an address for one of my graphics:

Hello Sister May,

You're most welcome. Many of us suffer from illnesses that limit what we can do in this short life, but God is with us. I'm convinced that prayer and God's help is what keeps many of us going. I know that is true for me. I can't rely on my strength, but I can rely on His Strength. I give thanks that He allows me to serve Him.

2 Corinthians 4:1-18 ASV  1  Therefore seeing we have this ministry, even as we obtained mercy, we faint not:  2  but we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by the manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.  3  And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled in them that perish:  4  in whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not dawn upon them.  5  For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake.  6  Seeing it is God, that said, Light shall shine out of darkness, who shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.  7  But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the exceeding greatness of the power may be of God, and not from ourselves;  8  we are pressed on every side, yet not straitened; perplexed, yet not unto despair;  9  pursued, yet not forsaken; smitten down, yet not destroyed;  10  always bearing about in the body the dying of Jesus, that the life also of Jesus may be manifested in our body.  11  For we who live are always delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus may be manifested in our mortal flesh.  12  So then death worketh in us, but life in you.  13  But having the same spirit of faith, according to that which is written, I believed, and therefore did I speak; we also believe, and therefore also we speak;  14  knowing that he that raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also with Jesus, and shall present us with you.  15  For all things are for your sakes, that the grace, being multiplied through the many, may cause the thanksgiving to abound unto the glory of God.  16  Wherefore we faint not; but though our outward man is decaying, yet our inward man is renewed day by day.  17  For our light affliction, which is for the moment, worketh for us more and more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory;  18  while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Hello Sister May,

It's great to hear from you. I understand about getting busy. You are definitely in our prayers.

Let me take this opportunity to share some favorite portions of Scripture:

Colossians 1:24-27 ASV  24  Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and fill up on my part that which is lacking of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body's sake, which is the church;  25  whereof I was made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which was given me to you-ward, to fulfil the word of God,  26  even the mystery which hath been hid for ages and generations: but now hath it been manifested to his saints,  27  to whom God was pleased to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

Colossians 1:24-27 AMP  24  [Even] now I rejoice in the midst of my sufferings on your behalf. And in my own person I am making up whatever is still lacking and remains to be completed [on our part] of Christ's afflictions, for the sake of His body, which is the church.  25  In it I became a minister in accordance with the divine stewardship which was entrusted to me for you [as its object and for your benefit], to make the Word of God fully known [among you]--  26  The mystery of which was hidden for ages and generations [from angels and men], but is now revealed to His holy people (the saints),  27  To whom God was pleased to make known how great for the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ within and among you, the Hope of [realizing the] glory.

Romans 5:1-2 ASV  1  Being therefore justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ;  2  through whom also we have had our access by faith into this grace wherein we stand; and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

Romans 5:1-2 AMP  1  THEREFORE, SINCE we are justified (acquitted, declared righteous, and given a right standing with God) through faith, let us [grasp the fact that we] have [the peace of reconciliation to hold and to enjoy] peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).  2  Through Him also we have [our] access (entrance, introduction) by faith into this grace (state of God's favor) in which we [firmly and safely] stand. And let us rejoice and exult in our hope of experiencing and enjoying the glory of God.

____________________

Romans 15:4-7 ASV  4  For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that through patience and through comfort of the scriptures we might have hope.  5  Now the God of patience and of comfort grant you to be of the same mind one with another according to Christ Jesus:  6  that with one accord ye may with one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.  7  Wherefore receive ye one another, even as Christ also received you, to the glory of God.

Romans 15:4-7 AMP  4  For whatever was thus written in former days was written for our instruction, that by [our steadfast and patient] endurance and the encouragement [drawn] from the Scriptures we might hold fast to and cherish hope.  5  Now may the God Who gives the power of patient endurance (steadfastness) and Who supplies encouragement, grant you to live in such mutual harmony and such full sympathy with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus,  6  That together you may [unanimously] with united hearts and one voice, praise and glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah).  7  Welcome and receive [to your hearts] one another, then, even as Christ has welcomed and received you, for the glory of God.

Ephesians 1:15-23 ASV  15  For this cause I also, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which is among you, and the love which ye show toward all the saints,  16  cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;  17  that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him;  18  having the eyes of your heart enlightened, that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,  19  and what the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to that working of the strength of his might  20  which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly places,  21  far above all rule, and authority, and power, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:  22  and he put all things in subjection under his feet, and gave him to be head over all things to the church,  23  which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

Ephesians 1:15-23 AMP  15  For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints (the people of God),  16  I do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers.  17  [For I always pray to] the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him,  18  By having the eyes of your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones),  19  And [so that you can know and understand] what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength,  20  Which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His [own] right hand in the heavenly [places],  21  Far above all rule and authority and power and dominion and every name that is named [above every title that can be conferred], not only in this age and in this world, but also in the age and the world which are to come.  22  And He has put all things under His feet and has appointed Him the universal and supreme Head of the church [a headship exercised throughout the church], [Ps. 8:6.]  23  Which is His body, the fullness of Him Who fills all in all [for in that body lives the full measure of Him Who makes everything complete, and Who fills everything everywhere with Himself].

Love In Christ,
Tom

Hello Sister May,

I really don't know what to think about the swine flu. I asked my doctor about the shot on my last visit. He said that there would be a shortage and that people most at risk would be given the shot first. He said that older people had some immunity built up over the years and that children and young people were most at risk in getting swine flu. I expressed my concern for my grandchildren, and the doctor said they have effective medications and treatments, but it was only common sense to give them the flu shot when it became available. The doctor said to pay close attention to anything that might be the flu and see the doctor quickly, especially for children. He said that those who have had the flu and flu shots multiple times are less at risk because of natural immunity being built up in the body. So, the younger a person is, the less immunity they will have. For parents, I think this is a serious matter for prayer and close attention for their children.

Sister, I really don't know much about this except for what my doctor explained to me. I really just repeated what he told me, and I hope this helps.

Love In Christ,
Tom

can say to him,
Your are my defender and protector
You are my God; in you I trust

How are you today Sister May?

I'm tired and thinking about taking it easy today. We've had repairs and remodeling on our home, and we're now busy trying to find things and put them away where we can find them easier the next time. Our kids did a lot of the work for us, and everything was put in the garage during the painting, etc. So, we're finding things that we didn't want to find.   ;D   The things we use often are hard to find. We are creatures of habit, and we knew where everything was for 30 years. We're not complaining. We also got to throw away and give away some things that we have no idea why we had them.

Love In Christ,
Tom

John 14:16-18 NIV  16  And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever--  17  the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.  18  I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.

Hello Sister May,

CONGRATULATIONS!

It's nice to hear about this happy time for your family. May God richly bless this young couple and both families. They will be in my prayers. I'm also happy to hear that the young couple are both Christians, so God will be in their home.

Tom

Romans 12:4-5 NLT  Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function,  5  so it is with Christ's body. We are all parts of his one body, and each of us has different work to do. And since we are all one body in Christ, we belong to each other, and each of us needs all the others.

Hello Sister May,

I had trouble going to sleep, so here I am on the forum. There's a peace and calm that comes from reading God's Word and Godly materials, so that's what I do when I can't sleep.

It's nice to hear from you, and I'm happy that you're getting some time off. I remember how I looked forward to days off and vacations, but now I'm retired and it seems I'm busier than ever. The difference is that I stay busy doing my favorite things that are usually Christian volunteer work. I just give thanks that God still uses me for whatever He will.

Yes, I also think that Jesus is coming to catch us up in the clouds soon. Tonight would be just fine with me. Until then, may God strengthen and encourage us all.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Romans 1:16-32 ASV  For I am not ashamed of the gospel: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.  17  For therein is revealed a righteousness of God from faith unto faith: as it is written, But the righteous shall live by faith.  18  For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hinder the truth in unrighteousness;  19  because that which is known of God is manifest in them; for God manifested it unto them.  20  For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, even his everlasting power and divinity; that they may be without excuse:  21  because that, knowing God, they glorified him not as God, neither gave thanks; but became vain in their reasonings, and their senseless heart was darkened.  22  Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,  23  and changed the glory of the incorruptible God for the likeness of an image of corruptible man, and of birds, and four-footed beasts, and creeping things.  24  Wherefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts unto uncleanness, that their bodies should be dishonored among themselves:  25  for that they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshipped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.  26  For this cause God gave them up unto vile passions: for their women changed the natural use into that which is against nature:  27  and likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another, men with men working unseemliness, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was due.  28  And even as they refused to have God in their knowledge, God gave them up unto a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not fitting;  29  being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malignity; whisperers,  30  backbiters, hateful to God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,  31  without understanding, covenant-breakers, without natural affection, unmerciful:  32  who, knowing the ordinance of God, that they that practise such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but also consent with them that practise them.

2 Timothy 1:7-10 ASV  For God gave us not a spirit of fearfulness; but of power and love and discipline.  8  Be not ashamed therefore of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but suffer hardship with the gospel according to the power of God;  9  who saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before times eternal,  10  but hath now been manifested by the appearing of our Saviour Christ Jesus, who abolished death, and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel,

Hello Sister May,

That's all different from family to family, according to the wishes of the bride. Our customs are fairly simple in my extended family and we've never done an engagement ceremony that I know of. Many of these things are also according to the culture and customs of the people in that particular area or country. Other things would also be according to family. As an example, my family wouldn't serve alcoholic beverages at any event. This would be a matter of opinion for us regarding testimony, but I won't debate this issue. I know that I didn't help you much.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Hello Sister May,

I wasn't trying to criticize. You asked me for my opinion, and I do know that things are different for country, culture, and family by family. A good description for my family might be simple, conservative Christians. I have a family full of pastors and missionaries, so "very conservative Christians" or old-fashioned Christians might be a better description. In fact, we have several generations of pastors and missionaries.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Romans 5:8-9 ASV  8  But God commendeth his own love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.  9  Much more then, being now justified by his blood, shall we be saved from the wrath of God through him.

Hello Sister May,

No apology is necessary. I do understand. There are many different cultures and customs in my country because we were colonized by immigrants from all over the world. I live in Southwest Oklahoma in a part of the country known for being Christian conservatives. Some of these labels are now confused with politics, so it's hard even here to determine what someone means by these labels. We have to ask them to explain what they mean before we can know.

The world is a confusing place today. Everyone might have a different definition for the same word. I can travel just a few miles in any direction and find communities of different cultures, ethnic origins, and various religious beliefs. So, being different is nothing new. I could probably find people here with the same customs and culture as you do. I obviously don't know or understand all about the culture and customs of others, and I'm sure that the same is true for them understanding mine. I live right next to a huge military base with people from all over the country continually coming and leaving. So, I have a variety of interesting neighbors with various backgrounds.

Sister, you didn't say anything to hurt my feelings at all, and I hope that I didn't say anything to hurt your feelings. That was not my intention and I know the same is true for you. We're just having a friendly discussion.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Hello Sister May, Your plans sound wonderful to me. Although, our culture is different weddings given as a gift from and to God can be done in many ways. Your child is blessed to have such a caring thoughtful mother. Please tell me more about how you are doing and a bit about your country and culture. I look forward to exchanging experiences with you.  I just got back from visiting up in the eastern part of US, in PA. The weather was cool at times, though most of the time it was a comfortble warm. Now here it Florida it is very hot and humid. I get so tired and weak trying to be outside to long down here. Well guess I should stop rambling on...... May God Bless you and keep you and your family safe.

Hello Sister May,

YEAH! - I'm very happy to hear that things went so well. I'm sorry that I wasn't much help to you before the party. Maybe it's a good thing I didn't know that much about formal engagement parties. I'm telling you the truth with the following, but maybe it will also give you a little laugh. My niece got married barefoot in one of her favorite parks in the Rocky Mountains North of Denver Colorado. That's what the bride wanted, and that's what the bride got.

My wife and I did wear shoes when we got married 38 years ago.   ;D

All kidding aside, I'm very happy for you and your family. Please give my best wishes and congratulations to your daughter.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Hello Sister May,

Posting graphics is a common question, so we have a thread with detailed instructions:

Posting Graphics (http://forums.christiansunite.com/index.php?topic=21461.0)

The above explains it all.

Ref. your question on Jonah, if you read Jonah 1 and 2 Jonah was alive before and after being swallowed by the fish. This was a miracle performed by the Lord, otherwise he would have been digested or killed.

Sister, I hope you're having a good day. I'm drinking some coffee and reading some old sermons by my favorite authors (F.B. Meyer and George H. Morrison).

Love In Christ,
Tom

Psalms 19:1-14 KJV  The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.  2  Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.  3  There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.  4  Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,  5  Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.  6  His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.  7  The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.  8  The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.  9  The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.  10  More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.  11  Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.  12  Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.  13  Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.  14  Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

Hello Sister May,

It's nice to hear from you. I certainly understand getting busy because I do that also. I just hope it has been a pleasant busy - mine has. I've had a visit from grandkids, and we have two puppies. We recently lost both of our old dogs - one 17 years old and one 18 years old, so we have been without dogs for the first time since either one of us were kids. The puppies are a little bit of work, but we think that they already love us, and we certainly love them. They are both small lap dogs that like to cuddle - one male and one female. OR, should I say that they are training their new humans?   ;)   It's been 18 years since we had a puppy in the house, and we love it. They also have each other as playmates, and their play is fun to watch.  The little male Hank is 14 weeks old - a Shih Tzu. The little female Lucy is 10 weeks old - a Bichon Frise. I know their breed sounds funny. They could have just said small lap dogs and that would have covered it.   ;)

Love In Christ,
Tom

Hello Sister May,

First, I don't know of any churches in the countries that you mentioned, but I'll try to do some checking. You might try an advanced search in Google that might help you find something. I was thinking about using the "And" function of a Google search - as an example - Baptist "and" Singapore - OR Christian "and" Thailand. You would need to be careful because some of those countries don't like Christians and persecute them. If I'm not mistaken, Malaysia is one of them.

Reference to the posting of pictures, I don't know of a way to describe step by step any better than the already posted help in "Questions and Answers" I gave you a link to. The first step is always getting a photo or image service to upload your pictures to. They maintain a hot link to display your pictures. Many photo and image services are free. I personally like to use Photobucket.

Here's an example of a picture of my puppies I just uploaded to Photobucket:

Here's what the address of the pictures look like:

http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i160/tlr10/357/hanklucy2.jpg

If you clicked that address, you should see a picture of my puppies.

If I enclose that address in the image command on the forum, it shows the picture without clicking on the address:

Once you get a photo service, they also provide instructions on how to use the photographs you have stored. Photobucket gives excellent instructions. I hope this helps you some. Step one is always getting the Photo Service.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Here's the link to Photobucket:

http://photobucket.com/

There's information on the opening page for joining. Once you join, you make albums and upload photos from your computer to Photobucket. An album is just a category of photo. In your case, let's say your first album is "Engagement". Give the command to create a new album called "Engagement" and upload your Engagement photos to it. Then give the command to show links on the pictures you have in your album. It will give you several types of links, one specifically for forums. Like I said, Photobucket has excellent instructions, and I find it very easy to use. Each one of your uploaded photos gets an address and you can use that address anywhere to display your pictures.

Hello Sister May,

It sounds like you're having a great Sunday, and I love the subject your pastor chose to cover today.

Reference the photos, there is nothing I can do to help you. You need to get a free photo service like Photobucket, and then you can post the pictures anywhere you want to. I use Photobucket, and using a photo service like this is the only way I can post pictures. So, the first step is to join a photo service. It's free and I don't know of a way that anyone can help you until you get a free photo service. It's easy and free to join Photobucket.

Hello Sister May,

I've been up and down with sinus infections, and I just had a relapse. I'm getting back with my doctor again tomorrow - hopefully for some stronger antibiotics that will stop this before it gets into my ears, throat, and lungs.

However, I'm not complaining. God has been very good to me. Right now, I'm just hoping and praying that I can get better before planned family gatherings at Christmas. The weather here has been up and down with large temperature changes almost daily. I think this is what got me sick.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Hello Sister May,

I return your best wishes for the New Year and congratulations on the wedding of your nephew.

I attended special church services at Christmas, but my wife and I had a quiet evening at home on New Year's Eve and Day. I did what I usually do:  Bible Study, forum posts, and reading excellent Christian materials. My wife and I had just returned from a visit to my daughter's home, and we were pretty tired.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Hi Brother Tom ,
It seems to me none reply to me.
In Mauritius we do have some percussion on the conversion of people
the Hindu want the government to apply a law on anti-conversion
Many Hindu have given their life to Jesus, so it does not please the Hindu priests
So in the name of Jesus pray for us that the law may not be approved

Hello Sister May,

I've read some about persecution of Christians in many parts of the world. I haven't read anything about Mauritius yet, so I was hoping you didn't have any trouble there. You will be in my prayers, along with all Christians around the world. I've read about harsh persecution of Christians in China, India, Indonesia, and other places. Things like this make me very sad, and I will be praying about this.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Hello Sister May,

I really don't know or understand why Christians are persecuted. I don't think it's because we are rich because many persecuted Christians are very poor. A bigger question is why was Jesus Christ persecuted, beaten, and crucified. We know that His earthly ministry was full of love and kindness, and He helped many people. Most of the Christians I know are not rich - except in Christ, but most of the world hates us. Just as the Bible says - they hated Jesus Christ first. They don't want to hear that they are sinners or be convicted of their sins. Regardless, millions of people are still accepting Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour every day. I think that the answer about hate is the devil.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Sister May,

I don't have the money or the health to travel much, so I'll listen to what you say about your home. I'm not complaining - God has richly blessed me and my family. Everything you've said about Mauritius makes it sound very nice. I'm hoping and praying that Christians can lead their lives and freely worship there. Freedom of religion and worship would be much more important to me than money or material things. In fact, money and material things are near the bottom of my list of things that are important.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Hello Sister May,

Your holiday sounds very nice. I hope that you enjoy it. I know there are many Christians in Hong Kong and China, but I don't know any of them. Sadly, China is a place where Christians are persecuted, and they must worship in secret. I don't know if Hong Kong is that harsh since it hasn't been under the control of China that long. I have no personal and direct knowledge of this, rather these are things that I've simply read. You might want to check for yourself before you go to see what possession of a Bible might result in. They call gatherings of Christians there "House Churches", and I've read about arrests for those who worship God. The only thing I'm positive of is that China does not have freedom of religion, and they treat Christians who openly worship God harshly. You might want to leave your Bible at home. You will remain in my prayers, and I will look up Mauritius.

In the meantime - KEEP LOOKING UP!

Love In Christ,
Tom
