I would have joined you on this sooner if I had known it wasn't getting answered so that you wouldn't have to answer your own question.

I too should have answered that sooner , I believe that I sort of fell into the "Church at Laodicea" and was just being lukewarm in responding. In Christian love Dave H

What leper carried a letter from the king of Syria to the king of Israel?
(2 Chronicles, 2 Kings, 2 Corinthians) Naaman (2Ki 5:1 ASV) Now Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honorable, because by him Jehovah had given victory unto Syria: he was also a mighty man of valor, but he was a leper. (2Ki 5:5 ASV) And the king of Syria said, Go now, and I will send a letter unto the king of Israel. And he departed, and took with him ten talents of silver, and six thousand pieces of gold, and ten changes of raiment. The following is from the "Fausset" Bible dictionary: Naaman 1. A son, i.e. grandson, of Benjamin (Gen_46:21; Num_26:40; 1Ch_8:4); reckoned in the Genesis genealogy as a "son" because he became head of a distinct family, the Naamites. Came down to Egypt with Jacob. 2. Naaman the Syrian (2 Kings 5). Identified by Jewish tradition (Josephus, Ant. 8:15, section 5) with the archer (1Ki_22:34) who drew his bow at a venture, and wounding Ahab mortally was Jehovah's instrument in "giving deliverance to Syria." Benhadad therefore promoted him to be captain of the Syrian host and the lord in waiting nearest his person, on whose arm the king leant in entering Rimmon's temple (compare 2Ki_7:2; 2Ki_7:17). "But (for all earthly greatness has its drawbacks) he was a leper," afflicted with white leprosy (2Ki_5:27). (For the rest, see ELISHA.) The case of Naaman was designed by God to shame Israel out of their half-heartedness toward Jehovah by a witness for Him the most unlikely. God's sovereign grace, going beyond Israel and its many lepers to heal the Gentile Naaman, Jesus makes to be His justification for His not doing as many miracles in His own country as He had done in Capernaum, an earnest of the kingdom of God passing from Israel to the Gentiles; Luke the physician (Luk_4:23-27) appropriately is the evangelist who alone records it. I also think of how "Matthew Henry's commentary" writes his thoughts on (2Ki 5:2 ASV) And the Syrians had gone out in bands, and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a little maiden; and she waited on Naaman's wife. This little maid, though only a girl, could give an account of the famous prophet the Israelites had among them. Children should be early told of the wondrous works of God, that, wherever they go, they may talk of them. If our children are to learn about GOD, we must teach and show them the way. How long does it take for someone not to know GOD?, one generation is all. In Christian love Dave H.

What god did the Sepharites sacrifice their children to?
(2 Kings, Amos, Judges) (2Ki 17:31 KJVR) And the Avites made Nibhaz and Tartak, and the Sepharvites burnt their children in fire to Adrammelech and Anammelech, the gods of Sepharvaim. I think it is a "sun-god" Adrammelech (1.) An idol; a form of the sun-god worshipped by the inhabitants of Sepharvaim (2Ki_17:31), and brought by the Sepharvite colonists into Samaria. Whose ship had figures of the gods Castor and Pollux?
(Genesis, Luke, Acts) To start off with, though I did not know you weren't feeling well; praise the LORD that you are feeling better. a ship of Alexandria: (Act 28:11 KJV) And after three months we departed in a ship of Alexandria, which had wintered in the isle, whose sign was Castor and Pollux. The 3 months is when Paul and the crew of the ship they was sailing was ship wrecked on the island of Melita. I see with interest in Acts 27 that the ship Paul was on was also a ship of Alexandria: (Act 27:5 KJV) And when we had sailed over the sea of Cilicia and Pamphylia, we came to Myra, a city of Lycia. (Act 27:6 KJV) And there the centurion found a ship of Alexandria sailing into Italy; and he put us therein. In Christian love Dave H.

The people of Lystra were so dazzled by Paul and Barnabas that they called them by the names of two Greek gods. What were the names?
