Do good to all and kindness show-
That's what God's word commands;
For when we're serving in Christ's name,
We are His feet and hands. Fitzhugh

We who love Jesus are walking by faith,
Not seeing one step that's ahead;
Not doubting one moment what our lot may be,
But looking to Jesus instead. Fields

“You may spoil the gospel by substitution. You have only to withdraw from the eyes of the sinner the grand object which the Bible proposes to faith--Jesus Christ--and to substitute another object in His place… and the mischief is done. J.C. Ryle

Savior, let me walk beside Thee,
Let me feel my hand in Thine;
Let me know the joy of walking
In Thy strength and not in mine. Sidebotham

Just exactly what is the Gospel?
We hear the Gospel spoken of quite frequently by many. But exactly what is the Gospel? The book of Mark puts it quite simply in the very first verse. It is the good news of the coming of Jesus Christ. John the Baptist tells us in Mat 3:1 it is the good news of " the kingdom of heaven". We are told in numerous places that Jesus went around "preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God".
We find in Luke 4 where it is so clearly stated that:
Luk 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
Luk 4:19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
Luk 4:20 And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.
Luk 4:21 And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.
This wondrous good news of the coming of Jesus Christ and the Kingdom of God is "salvation to everyone that believeth"
Rom 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
Rom 1:17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
Salvation, salvation from death under the law by God's perfect grace.
Rom 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
Rom 3:11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
Rom 3:12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
Rom 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Rom 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Rom 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
Rom 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
Rom 3:27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.
Rom 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Rom 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
Rom 2:4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?
Rom 3:22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
Rom 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Rom 4:21 And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.
Rom 4:24 But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;
Rom 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
Rom 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Rom 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Unfailing is God's matchless love,
So kind, so pure, so true;
And those who draw upon that love
Show love in all they do. D. De Haan

To follow Christ we must let go
Of all that we hold dear;
And once we have denied ourselves,
Our gains become more clear. Sper

Pro 25:27 It is not good to eat much honey: so for men to search their own glory is not glory.
Rom 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Col 3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
Heb 13:14 For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.
Heb 13:15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.
All glory is His. Through His grace are we saved and through His grace do we strive for His glory. We do not work for that which is seen of man but for that which is in Heaven.

To fear the Lord means giving Him
Our reverence, trust, and awe,
Acknowledging His sovereignty,
Submitting to His law. Hess

The Old Gospel from the Bible says, "God forgives all our sins through Christ Jesus."
Our culture offers a New Gospel that says, "You can't name anything 'sin' anymore. Don't criticize what people do in private. If you name anything 'sin,' you are INTOLERANT.'
The Old Gospel quotes Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
The New Gospel quotes Mat 7:1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.
The Old Gospel wants to tell the whole world about Jesus Christ.
The New Gospel tells Christians, "Shut-up. Don't say anything about religion. Keep your faith private. You can use Jesus' name only for cursing, not for blessing."
Jesus told His Disciples: Joh 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Notice Jesus did
not
say, "You can choose any way to God; what you prefer - my way or another religion - doesn't-matter. "
No, Jesus said, "I AM THE WAY." - the only way!
Notice Jesus did
not
say, "Here is my opinion."
Jesus said, "I AM THE TRUTH."
Notice Jesus did
not
say, "Follow my example for successful living."
Jesus said, "I AM THE LIFE."
A few hours later after Jesus said these words to His Disciples, Jesus stood on trial in-front-of Pontius Pilate. Jesus told Pontius Pilate, "This is why I was born and came into the world: to tell people the truth. And everyone who belongs to the truth listens to me."
Pontius Pilate mocked Jesus, saying, "What is truth?!" (John 18:37)
Each Christian also must know what is true. Each Christian also must stand on the Truth.
Are you girding yourself with truth? (Eph 6:14 )

Christ has no hands but our hands to do His work today;
He has no feet but our feet to lead men in His way;
He has no tongue but our tongue to tell men how He died;
He has no help but our help to bring them to His side. Flint

Praise be to God that the gospel is not old, for His mercy is new everyday...I am so thankful for the gospel that set a person like me free and has made my path straight that I can walk in the newness of life, to become a new creation that only God can do in my life and everyday, I am reminded of what Jesus has done for me. If you only knew what He saved me from, then you would know the love I have that offers no debate but to please Him in just my daily life that others can see Him through me and that is all i have to give for I do not know of any other way to repay Him than to live for Him...

Of all the many blessings
That our gracious Father send,
I thank Him most of all today
For loyal-hearted friends. Halse
