Reconciliation Through Christ

For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. Rom. 5:10

Let us love, and sing, and wonder;
Let us praise the Savior's name:
He has hush'd the law's loud thunder,
He has quench'd Mount Sinai's flame:
He has wash'd us with his blood,
He has brought us nigh to God.

Adoption Through Christ

As many as received him, to them gave he the power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. John 1:12

Let others boast their ancient line,

Strength Through Christ

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Phil. 4:13

Spiritual Freedom Through Christ

If the Son shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. John 8:36

Peace with God Through Christ

Being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Rom. 5:1

Access to God Through Christ

In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him. Eph. 3:12

Come boldy to the throne of grace,
Where Jesus kindly pleads;
Ours cannot be a desperate case
While Jesus intercedes.

Victory Through Christ

Thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Cor. 15:57

Thus strong in the Redeemer's strength,
Sin, death, and hell we tranple down,
Fight the good fight, and win at length,

Indwelling of the Spirit

Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 1 Cor. 3:16

Think what Spirit dwells within thee;
Think what Father's smiles are thine;
Think that Jesus died to win thee:
Child of heaven, canst thour repine?

Intercession of the Spirit

The Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Rom. 8:26

Let pure devotion's fervours rise,
Let every holy feeling glow;
Oh, let the rapture of the skies
Kindle in our cold hearts below.
Come, vivifying Spirit, come,
And make our hearts thy constant home.

Sanctification by the Spirit

Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus. 1 Pet. 1:2

Can aught beneath a power divine
The stubborn will subdue?
'Tis thine, eternal Spirit, thine,
To form our hearts anew,
'Tis thine the passions to recall,
And upwards bid them rise;
And make the scales of error fall
From reason's darkened eyes.

The Fruits of the Spirit

The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. Gal. 5:22, 23

'Tis God himself the ground prepares,
His Spirit sows the land;
And every pleasant fruit it bears,
Is nurtur'd by his hand.

Inheritance Among the Sanctified

Brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified. Acts 20:32

From earth we shall quickly remove,
And mount to our native abode;
The house of our Father above,
The palace of angels and God.
