Thanks!  I wasn't planning on killing them though...just slightly maiming and incapcitating them...badly.   Cheesy Grin

Oh, pardon me!  So I guess you weren't thinking S.S.S.?
48  Fellowship / What are you doing? / Re: Good example? on: May 03, 2007, 08:04:01 PM
I really appreciate everything that's been stated.  We are mere mortals, but that brings a question to mind.
As I show my willingness to admit my faults to both my children and God (and any others I may have wronged), is there some way of also putting across the point that we strive to do better?  I mean in a "real" way.  I don't think I'm putting this across the way I mean it.......let me think a minute.................

O.K.  I show, by readily admitting when I'm wrong, that I can see I'm wrong and my children then learn to admit their faults and not cover them up in some "superiority" blanket.
Now, they learn we are all humans.  By my (and others, of course) example.  How do you "show" a striving to do better?  How do they learn, by example, not to just settle for the "oh, well, no big deal, I'm just human" excuse?
49  Theology / Debate / A debate on: May 03, 2007, 07:47:47 PM
Since this is going to be a debate, I thought this would be the place to post the link for information about it.  I read about it on another Christian site I'm on, and it looks like it would be interesting to watch.  It's in just two days!

50  Theology / Debate / Re: Reality of sexual Abstinance on: May 03, 2007, 03:43:00 PM
Sexual Abstinence = Self Control

Part of the Fruit of the Spirit is self control, right?  I think all of the fruit goes against our sin nature, but with the presence of the Holy Spirit, grace abounds in order to live as a child of God.  If God says the flesh will war with the Spirit, then we should not be surprised that it does, and be armed and ready when this form or any other form of temptation comes along.  We are not perfect, no, but we dare not make excuses for sin or say it's impossible to have victory over sin.  That would be calling God a liar.  IMHO anyway.

Being the perfect role model for our children is a difficult thing to do when none of us are perfect. Praise God we can point out the perfect role model to our children that God has provided for us, Jesus Christ.

There are many things that we can do to be a better example for our children. Teaching our children the ways of the Lord is one of the most important things we can do. Having family devotions and prayers is one of the biggest steps we can take to achieve this.

My prayers are with you in this as well.

I totally agree.  Prayers appreciated, thanks.

Many of the older dogs start doing some really funny things.

Yeah, I have a sixteen-year-old dog as well.  Only I don't find it funny!  Wink
53  Fellowship / What are you doing? / Good example? on: May 02, 2007, 08:40:10 PM
Well, I'm trying to be a good example to my children.  I don't always get it right, and there are things I want to do better at, and am often reminded of when Paul said "I do that which I would not, and that which I would I do not" (in my words).

I'm having to be the spiritual head of our home, and could really use alot of prayer.  I have quite a few people who are praying for us already, and am very blessed in many ways, but could always use more prayer.

Any advice is welcome as well!

An important thing to note:  They say Wicca is the fastest growing religion among teenagers!!

Frightening thought!  But it makes sense.   I think "Christianity" has become so watered down it doesn't satisfy.  We are literally too ashamed to stand for the Truth and minister that Truth to this lost and dying world.  They need fed, and not just coffee and doughnuts.

Congratulations Allinall!

I'm no Annie Oakley, but I have "removed" a couple of different prospective suitors from the scene.  You don't need to kill them to get rid of them.  Then again, someone else's daughter becomes victim..........................Hmmmmm............may have to rethink this!

I absolutely love Southern Gospel and Celtic music.  There's something about the Celtic that just reaches the soul.
57  Entertainment / Music / Re: Amy Grant one of your fav. Christian artists or not? on: May 02, 2007, 01:00:32 PM
Nope.  Don't listen to her.  Because.

I WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND HOW ANYONE CAN HARM THE INNOCENT!!!!

I certainly hope there is a "rocking chair ministry" in Heaven where we can spend eternity taking care of all the precious babies/children/adults who are attacked in this world.

This makes my heart just sick.  I have to force myself to remember "Vengeance is mine, declareth the Lord, I WILL repay!"
59  Entertainment / Politics and Political Issues / Re: Hillary changes planes - constantly on: May 02, 2007, 12:26:30 PM
I just heard her referred to as the Queen.

It's a good lesson-story for me about pride and arrogance and what we can assume ourselves to be.
60  Entertainment / Politics and Political Issues / Re: Supreme Court: Motorists Fleeing Cops Can't Sue on: May 02, 2007, 12:20:47 PM
What I find even more disturbing is the fact that an illegal alien drug smuggler can sue.

AMEN!
