16  Theology / Prophecy - Current Events / Re: Rick Warren, Purpose-Driven Pornography? on: May 07, 2007, 12:56:38 PM
Don't get me started on Rick Warren........
17  Fellowship / Just For Women / Re: god does answer prayers in his time not ours on: May 07, 2007, 12:50:06 PM

in christ's abiding love,  i know jesus loves me, but i also need the physical love, someone to hug me, someone to hold me, someone to share my life with.

gina

Gina, I understand.  My heart is with yours on this whole situation, and I am praying.  Please know you are not alone.  These are very normal desires that God has given us women.  We are designed to be protected, and when our protector does not do as he should, those desires do not just go away.  But God CAN and WILL minister to you as you poor all your needs on Him.

Praying, praying, and praying more.........

Just wanted to jump in here and say thank you, Pastor Roger, for posting these.  I'm getting alot out of them.
19  Theology / Prophecy - Current Events / Re: Anti-God Starbucks cup has customer steaming on: May 07, 2007, 11:01:44 AM
Faithin1 - I agree with enjoying my own coffe a whole lot more.

I tried Starbucks one time, and wouldn't go back.  Too expensive.  Coffee was horrible.

Wonder why Starbucks feels so "big" as to need to delve into the public philosophy realm.  Who owns them, anyway?
20  Fellowship / What are you doing? / Re: Good example? on: May 07, 2007, 10:35:28 AM
For one thing when we do not continue making the same mistake over and over again. We correct those things we did wrong and let them see it.

Amen, AMEN!  I agree.  I just can't stand the thought of spending eternity without them.  That's really my "issue".
21  Fellowship / Just For Women / Re: god does answer prayers in his time not ours on: May 07, 2007, 10:30:25 AM
Was just wondering how you are doing, Gina.
22  Fellowship / You name it!! / Re: Coffee Time! on: May 07, 2007, 10:26:38 AM
def, I just wanted to say congratulations on being so brave!  I think one of the hardest things about approaching this lost and dying world is that we have to love them more than we love ourselves.
Rejection?  Very real.  But being willing to endure that affliction makes the avenue open to saving even one soul from an eternity in Hell.  NO, we do not save them, but we can be used by God to make them aware of the opportunity to be saved from their sins.
Blessings to you, Sister!
23  Fellowship / Just For Women / Re: Submitting to Husbands on: May 07, 2007, 10:14:41 AM
I agree with alot of what's been written here.  If God's Holy Word teaches none other than a woman is to submit to her husband in all things, then that is what she is to do!  And if the Bible also teaches we are to submit to each other as a body of believers, then go for it!
Submitting willingly is the issue.  We all want our own way, and selfishness is a very harmful thing.  Noone in leadership should be selfish, and noone following their lead should be selfish.

I, myself, have had the struggle of submission in an abusive situation, and I honestly believe God has set up the proper order for a reason.  If the husband is not leading the way God says he is supposed to, it puts the whole thing out of whack.  If there is abuse going on, then safety has to be considered.

If a woman is allowiing herself to be abused, then that is her choice, but when she allows children to be abused, then the blame for it must somewhat rest on her shoulders.  I know.
24  Entertainment / Politics and Political Issues / Re: Christian College Wins Suit on: May 07, 2007, 10:01:18 AM

The settlement said Geneva could use the CareerLink site because the college did not receive federal Workforce Investment Act funding.

WAKE UP CHRISTIAN SCHOOLS!!!!!  It is the acceptance of federal funds for books, etc. that lets them get a foot in the door of our precious Christian educational organizations!
If we accept "their" money, we MUST play by "their" rules!
25  Entertainment / Politics and Political Issues / Re: Maine Christians outraged over ministers' support for abortion-on-demand on: May 07, 2007, 09:56:55 AM
UNBELIEVABLE!  I am so disgusted!

Makes me wonder if these (yo-yos, no, that's not nice.........idiots, no, that's worse........prostitutes - yeah!) prostitutes of God's Word have a "side business" going in the abortion business.

Mods - delete or "prune" as necessary!

I was just wondering if the cat is some part of an inside joke here  Huh .
27  Entertainment / Books / Re: what's your favorte quote from a book you read? Share it with us! on: May 06, 2007, 05:32:39 PM
mine is this:

Les grandes personnes ne comprennent jamais rien toutes seules, et c'est fatigant, pour les enfants, de toujours leur donner des explications.

Which in English is: Grown-ups never understand anything by themselves, and it is tiresome for children to be always explaining things to them.

oh by the way that's in German. This quote came from the book "The Little Prince"

I'm looking forward to knowing your favorite quotes~

Father Ira, I was just wondering if you're sure about this being German.  I'm no language expert, but it reads like one of the Romance languages to me.  Possibly Spanish?  Or actually, I was thinking French.

A quote I enjoy from an allegory called "Hinds Feet on High Places" by Hannah Hurnard reads, "Even if the way up to the High Places appears to be obscured and you are led to doubt whether you are following the right path, remember the promise, 'Thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand and when ye turn to the left.' Always go forward along the path of obedience as far as you know it until I intervene, even if it seems to be leading you where you fear I could never mean you to go."

Rich and full of God's promises.............

Coffee makes the world go round
The world go round, the world go round
Coffee makes the world go round
The world go round, the world go round
Coffee makes our world go round
It doesn't matter if you're up or down
Coffee makes the world go round

Say what you will because you know it's true
No cups of coffee, no fun for you
Dream of your life as your days go by
Trapped with no coffee 'til the day you die
Those with the coffee are those with the power
Getting more clearer every minute and hour
Keep on your path hanging on by a thread
With anyone's luck you might get ahead

Coffee makes the world go round
The world go round, the world go round
Coffee makes the world go round
The world go round, the world go round
Coffee makes the world go round
The world go round, the world go round
It doesn't matter if you're up or down
'Cause coffee makes the world go round

I wish it was love, I wish it was love
I wish it love, but it's not. it's coffee
I wish it was you, I wish it was me
I wish it was us, but it's not, it's COFFEE!!!! Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

OH!  He's missing his wife AND  the coffee!!!
29  Fellowship / You name it!! / Re: Coffee Time! on: May 06, 2007, 04:52:30 PM
Coffee is nice,
It is better than spice,
but Jesus is the only light,
He makes the world turn without a fight.

Coffee tastes good,
but for the best food
turn to Jesus' word
you won't need to brood.

 Wink  Amen!
30  Fellowship / You name it!! / Re: Coffee Time! on: May 06, 2007, 04:29:08 PM
Can't enjoy the flavor through an I.V. so I guess a cup will do.   Grin Grin

Ha!  I was just trying to get the caffeine to you the quickest way possible!

Hmmm.....reading all this has brought on the need for a good ol' cup-a-jo.
