I was just reflecting again about how short the time may be left in this Age Of Grace. It makes me very happy to know that we have a better Hope than this world. I love thinking about our real Citizenship in Heaven and the Promises of God. This world appears to be sinking into evil chaos, just as God's Word said that it would. For us, this simply means that we are getting closer to the Glorious Appearance of Our Lord and Saviour to take us Home.
Love In Christ,
Tom
I'll tell you what brother, I'm ready to go home (my real Home). I'm tires of living with pain every day. I know a lot of people are praying for me, and that helps but, at times the pain is unbearable. When it really starts hitting me, I end up popping morphine, and praying. I still haven't figured out why, I have pain all the time but the Lord knows and who am I to argue with Jesus.
It's only through Christ that I'm able to make it through the day sometimes. Other times I wonder how I made it through the day. I do want to leave y'all today with this note:
To human suffering is not easy because suffering is a mystery. What we know is that we all bear different amounts of suffering in our journey. Our questions about pain and suffering are essential because they disclose a struggle with our faith and they challenge us at the root of our personal spirituality. In the storms of our life, it appears that our options are few. We can become embittered asking, "Why did God do this to me?" Another choice is to give our struggles to God and accept the suffering with faith and dignity. Thus, the most obvious answer to questions of suffering is for us to completely let go of our troubles to the Grace of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
Every day and in every way, Jesus Christ is there to help us deal with any pain or suffering coming our way. Jesus passion and death were redemptive suffering. He truly did die for each one of us
personally
. Christ can show you the wisdom of totally letting your troubles rest in Him. Jesus is there to help is regardless of our suffering. He sends another of His loved one like our spouse or family members, all He asks us to do is to let go and relax.
Romans 8:18-39
For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
19
For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.
20
For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,
21
Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
22
For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
23
And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. 24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
25
But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
26
Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
27
And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
28
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
29
For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
30
Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
31
What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
32
He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
33
Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.
34
Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
35
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36
As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
37
Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
38
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39
Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Holding a cup of coffee, thinking and praying for y'all.
Your brother and friend in Christ
Bob

Hello Brother Bob,
You said it well, and you said it in a Biblical way. Many of us are in the same boat, and I give thanks that we have a better hope than this world. Not one of us has all of the answers, but the search as Christians leads to beautiful truths that we might have missed otherwise. I'm thinking of:
2 Corinthians 12:9-10 (KJV) 9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
Brother, you already quoted from one of my favorite Chapters in the Bible - Romans 8. We can live in Romans 8 right now. I realize that I'm not telling you anything that you don't already know. I also think of:
2 Corinthians 1:1-11 KJV 1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, unto the church of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints which are in all Achaia: 2 Grace be to you and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. 3 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; 4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. 5 For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ. 6 And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation. 7 And our hope of you is stedfast, knowing, that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation. 8 For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life: 9 But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead: 10 Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us; 11 Ye also helping together by prayer for us, that for the gift bestowed upon us by the means of many persons thanks may be given by many on our behalf.
Finally, I think of several of my favorite passages:
1 Corinthians 15:50-58 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. 51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. 55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? 56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
2 Timothy 4:5-9 KJV But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. 6 For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. 7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: 8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. 9 Do thy diligence to come shortly unto me:
Love In Christ,
Tom

Hello brother Tom, I pray that you've had a great day in the Lord. I would like to add, to what you've said;
Truths that are timeless often need only the time brushed away in order to reveal the polished stone that has gleaming all along.
We suffer because we live in a fallen world. When sin entered the world, death entered. Pain, illness, and disease are a form of death we all suffer, to one degree or another. But.............
Job 42:5
I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee. Job, who endured unspeakable suffering, said, "My ears had heard of you but now my eyes have seen you."
There's an opening of the soul that happens during times of stress or duress. During times of suffering, we experience God at a deep, profound level. We learn of refinements God has given us. Give praise to Him, for only He is worthy.
Isaiah 48:10
Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.
The meaning of this verse (to me) makes it clear that pain and suffering have a way of bringing our strengths and weaknesses to the surface. When the garbage floats to the surface, God skims it off, he purifies and refines us to be the radiant bride of Christ.
Suffering produces growth and maturity according to
James 1:2-4
My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
3
Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
4
But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
We turn toward God in our pain, He can use our suffering to mature our faith. We see this biblical truth illustrated through the persecuted church. After hearing their testimonies, few would deny that suffering produces beauty and maturity of spirit.
AMEN!!
As I have stated in Romans 8 above, suffering conforms us into God's image. As I stated above in Isaiah 48:10. We may be tempted to read these verses to say that God will bring good out of everything. While He can and does redeem pain in our lives, these verses speak of being conformed to God's image through our suffering. If we are willing to sit still and let God work, we will find ourselves being transformed into the image of Jesus.
When we seek God through His Word and prayer, we find Jesus. Jesus understands our pain because he, too, suffered.
We read the words of
Psalm 22:1
"My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, so far from the words of my groaning?"
Did God abandon His Son in His hour of need? We find the answer three days later, God raised Him from the dead. Because of this promise, we have hope for our future.
2 Corinthians 12:9
And he said unto me,
My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness
. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
If people would look, into the Bible reading God's Word they would find comfort and encouragement for everyday life. Those of us, who live with illness, disabilities, infirmities, already know, the Love of Jesus.
Resting in the hands, of the Lord.
Bob
2 Corinthians 1:6
And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation.
The above verse just came up, when I asked for a random verse. As you know, I don't believe in things happening by chance.

Hello Everyone,
I just want to share a few thoughts. You know that most of the news these days is bad, and it indicates more and more evil and chaos. God's Word tells us these times will come, and we should know that things are going to get much worse. I mention these things because it's easy for even Christians to feel down about what we see happening in this world. It's too easy to think that we no longer have an impact for good and against bad, so these are things we should think about often and realize that God hasn't changed our mission one bit.
God's Word still accomplishes His Perfect Will and Purpose because He Promised it would. Millions are still accepting Christ around the world, regardless of how bad and evil this world is becoming. Truly, we may be living in the last days of this Age Of Grace. There are signs around the world that justify these thoughts, so a Day of Rejoicing for all Christians may be drawing near also.
Now is the time for:
Ephesians 5:19-21 KJV Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; 20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; 21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.
Now is also the time for knowing that this world isn't our home, and we have a better hope. Those who study Bible Prophecy should recognize some disturbing things in Israel and Jerusalem. Bluntly, this world is a mess, and it's going to get worse. BUT, where is our HOPE - not in this world.
Our HOPE is in One who never changes and never fails - JESUS CHRIST.
So, as Christians, what should we do?
Put our eyes on JESUS and KEEP LOOKING UP!
What did the Christians of Paul's days do? Did they have pleasant lives and encouraging world news? No, they were being persecuted and killed. Think about the peace and joy of Stephen as he was being stoned to death. I doubt that any of us are facing trials and tribulations of such magnitude, but things are definitely getting worse and harder.
2 Timothy 2:1-3 KJV Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. 2 And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also. 3 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
Love In Christ,
Tom

Amen and AMEN! It is these upcoming times that we as Christians need to be working not only to help enlarge the body of Christ but also to be supporting one another in prayer and in fellowship more than ever. As the old saying goes it is these times that try men's souls and it is never more true.
We hear on the news daily how the economy is getting better. I am not easily fooled. Personally I think that food pantries are an excellent means to judge how poor the economy is. A better gauge than the manner in which the government does it. The food pantries in this area are really getting used and are being stressed out. I haven't seen lines at them as long as these have been. People standing in long lines for several hours just to get a days worth of food.
With our government doing the things that they are it really looks like it will be getting worse instead of better in more ways than just the economy. Praise God we have a much better hope for times ahead through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Stand up and keep looking up for that better hope.

It appears that our current administration's agenda is to BREAK everything that was our way of life. What they are doing in a time of economic down-turn is absolute insanity. NOTHING they are doing makes a bit of sense - UNLESS they want to completely BREAK the system and rebuild it with communist and socialist principles. They aren't smart enough to realize that the states and the people will not tolerate their agenda.
There are many people suffering with all kinds of needs, and this administration has ignored them to fulfill their communist and socialist dream programs. I think that all of the food pantries and shelters are beyond capacity, and the needs continue to rise. Regardless, all of the things this administration is concentrating on are job-killing programs that add additional burdens to business and individuals. The next items of insanity on the agenda are cap and trade and immigration - not jobs. The result will be huge increases in energy prices that will effect prices on everything and footing the bills for millions of illegal aliens.
The answer must be NO! - Just as the answer is still NO! for ObamaCare - regardless of what the loony toons in Washington pass or don't pass.
THE NEWS FLASH REMAINS THE SAME: NO!
As Christians, we also know there are many strong moral issues involved in the attempted communist takeover of our country. It's much more than just FREEDOM and huge expenses that we can't pay. There is a lengthy list of moral issues that Christians can't ignore, can't allow, and won't allow. For starters, try taxpayer funded abortions and government propaganda education. Bluntly, there are many things from the psychopaths and sociopaths in Washington, D. C. that the states and the people will NEVER tolerate.
THE ANSWER IS NO! - AND THE ANSWER WILL REMAIN NO!
As Christians, we will start by speaking BOLDLY against wrong and evil.

One of the United States’ most worthwhile accomplishments has been its consistent regard for the plight of the Jewish nation. No nation in the history of the world has a better record of treating individual Jews with respect than does America. The same can be said for our befriending Israel as a nation. America has committed many sins for which we may well deserve judgment, but as a nation, we have been a consistent friend of the Jews and the nation of Israel, as well as a benefactor.
I am also appalled by Obama to undermine the Jewish people. Jews may then have tried to avoid Obama’s anti-Semitism, but they cannot now avoid the consequences of avoiding Obama’s anti-Semitism. He has unleashed an evil in this world the extent of which we are only now beginning to see. He has made the world safe for haters, killers, and worse I'm sure is coming...........

I wish everyone a Happy and Blessed Easter.
Yes, HE IS RISEN and LIVES TODAY!
Matthew 28:1-7 KJV In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. 2 And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. 3 His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow: 4 And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men. 5 And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. 6 He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. 7 And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.

OUR LORD JESUS, IS RISEN!!!
I had a dream last night where I was being Raptured. As I was being Raptured, I was thanking Jesus.
I was sad when I woke up.
Amen Brother David!
You and I were thinking almost the same thing at the same time. I like to think about the Rapture every day. In fact, I like to think about the beautiful and precious Promises of God every day. I anxiously await His Glorious Appearance. Brother, we will spend Eternity together in Heaven with our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
Love In Christ,
Tom

While drinking my coffee, I thought I would post this here. I'm relaxing, looking at today's times in the world. I think there is little support for Israel. We
NEED
to remember as Christians, God is in control, and Israel is
His
. The land belongs to God, not man.
Christians should be supporting Israel!!
Christians should definitely support the nation of Israel. We must remember that Israel, the nation, is very special to God.
Deuteronomy 7:6-8
For thou art an holy people unto the
LORD
thy God: the
LORD
thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.
7
The
LORD
did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people:
8
But because the
LORD
loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath the
LORD
brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.
God's eternal purpose is to bless the world through Israel. Already He has done so in measure, for "salvation is from the Jews", but the fullness of future blessing is indicated in the wondrous promise of;
Isaiah 27:6
He shall cause them that come of Jacob to take root: Israel shall blossom and bud, and fill the face of the world with fruit.
John 4:22
Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.
The declaration that "
salvation is from the Jews
”
suggests our immeasurable debt to Israel
. All that we have worth having has come to us through the Jews.
Our Bible is a Jewish Book, and our Savior is a Jewish Savior. Let us never forget to pray for God's chosen people. It is true that Israel, today, is in the place of rejection. The nation is a secular, unbelieving. Some Jews are being saved and are becoming members of the body of Christ through faith in their Messiah.
Romans 11:5
Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.
Jews are, biblically speaking, the "chosen people of God" and dearly loved by Him. Another reason for Christians to support the nation of Israel is because of the Abrahamic Covenant. We read of God’s promise in
Genesis 12:2-3
And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
3
And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
Genesis 27:29
Let people serve thee, and nations bow down to thee: be lord over thy brethren, and let thy mother's sons bow down to thee: cursed be every one that curseth thee, and blessed be he that blesseth thee.
Numbers 24:9
He couched, he lay down as a lion, and as a great lion: who shall stir him up? Blessed is he that blesseth thee, and cursed is he that curseth thee.
In 1948, President Harry Truman helped persuade the United Nations to recognize Israel as a nation. Since then, the United States has contributed billions of dollars in aid to Israel.
From the biblical declarations of God's love and care for His chosen people, the nation of Israel, and from the history of nations being destroyed because of their evil dealings with God's chosen people, the Jews, Christian believers should give support to the chosen people of God. This is not to say that we support necessarily the methods they use in their relationships with the Arab nations. The Bible warned that conflict would always characterize the relations between the descendents of Isaac and Ishmael. Sadly, this conflict will continue until Jesus comes back to judge the nations and sets up his 1,000 year reign of peace on earth. We must look at the "big picture” with a biblical worldview. While we do not have to support everything Israel does as a nation, we most definitely should support Israel’s right to exist. God will fulfill His promises and covenants with Israel. God still has a plan for Israel.
Genesis 12:2-3
And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
3
And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
I
staggered
by the speed with which Obama has sought to
undermine the Jewish people
. Jews may then have tried to avoid Obama’s anti-Semitism, but they cannot now avoid the consequences of avoiding Obama’s anti-Semitism. He has unleashed an evil in this world the extent of which we are only now beginning to see. He has made the world safe for haters and killers. We have to be able and willing to make moral distinctions and stand up for the good and fight evil, and that is something that both the Europeans and Obama refuse to do.
How the United States will hold onto a friendship to Israel. I don't know but, I will say all Christians need to be praying for Israel today, right
NOW!!
Bob
Judges 3:9
And when the children of Israel cried unto the LORD, the LORD raised up a deliverer to the children of Israel, who delivered them, even Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb's younger brother.
