Greece protests to Turkey over disco band at Sumela monastery
Mon, February 7, 2022

ATHENS (Reuters) - Greece's foreign ministry said on Monday images showing a band dancing to electronic music at the former Orthodox Christian Sumela monastery in Turkey were "offensive" and "a desecration" of the monument.

The ministry called on Turkish authorities "to do their utmost to prevent such acts from being repeated" and to respect the site, a candidate for UNESCO's list of world heritage sites.

"The recent images that were displayed on social media, in which a foreign band seems to be dancing disco in the area of the Historical Monastery of Panagia Soumela, are a desecration of this Monument," it said.

2 Sundance Staffers Resign in Response to Flap Over ‘Jihad Rehab’ Documentary
Brenda Coughlin and Karim Ahmad quit during the film festival after Meg Smaker’s documentary was slammed as Islamaphobic

Brian Welk | February 9, 2022 @ 3:43 PM

Two Sundance Institute employees have resigned in response to the hot-button documentary “Jihad Rehab” that played at last month’s Sundance Film Festival, a Sundance representative confirmed.

Brenda Coughlin, director of Impact, Engagement and Advocacy with the Sundance Institute, and Karim Ahmad, director of the Outreach & Inclusion Program, both resigned following the festival in the wake of criticism that “Jihad Rehab” is Islamophobic and promotes jingoism and other stereotypes. And some associated with the movie have sought to distance themselves from their involvement via social media.

Muslim groups are pushing for a 'Christchurch amendment' to be added to the religious discrimination bill.
Published 9 February 2022 at 8:05pm
By Eden Gillespie

Muslim groups say the religious discrimination bill does not yet provide ‘a shield’ to protect people of faith from vilification.

Muslim advocacy groups are pushing for a ‘Christchurch amendment’ to be included in the federal government’s religious discrimination bill to protect people of faith from vilification and endangerment.

The proposed amendment would use a higher threshold than section 18C of the Racial Discrimination Act and squarely focus on preventing the endangerment of people.

This is how Islam takes over countries, by getting bills passed that make it impossible to prosecute them in a court of law

Caption: Party leader

In a Twitter posting, the Islamist party Nyans declares that is on the way "to taking over all of  Skåne” and that  Malmö is the first out.

Seeking to test underground border barrier, Hamas ups terror tunnels construction
Defense officials say the terrorist group controlling the Gaza Strip has been stepping up its effort to breach the underground barrier Israel dug on its border with the coastal enclave.
By  ILH Staff  Published on  02-13-2022 12:34

Hamas is accelerating the construction of terror tunnels seeking to breach the underground barrier Israel dug on its border with the coastal enclave, a military official told the Walla news website on Sunday.

In early December, Israel announced the completion of a sensor-equipped underground wall on its side of the Gaza border – a counter-measure developed after Hamas terrorists used tunnels to blindside its troops during Operation Protective Edge in 2014.

Stretching 65 kilometers (40 miles), the barrier also includes an aboveground fence, a naval barrier, command and control centers, hundreds of cameras, radars, and sensors, as well as a range of other defenses. Over 140,000 tons of iron and steel were used in its construction, which took over three years to complete.
