I will give this one more day so that others might see this and have a bit of time to join in. In the meantime I will post one of my favorite OT verses that mention Jesus.

Gen 1:1  In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

Joh 9:4  I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.

Pastor Roger,  I think I know the answer but will you please explain your verse.  I almost used this one but then I wasn't sure how to explain it if someone would have asked me.

The following verses will explain it all.

Joh 1:1  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Joh 1:2  The same was in the beginning with God.

Joh 1:14  And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Col 1:15  Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
Col 1:16  For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
Col 1:17  And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

And this ties back to the previous posted question "According to John, what teaching identifies an antichrist?"

We see through this that Jesus Christ, although He is the Son of God, is also the Creator of all things. The He is also very God. He has planned His Salvation for us from the very beginning. This brings me to my next question ...

Was Salvation available to those before the cross and what two words in the Bible give us this answer?

Was salvation possible pryor to his Death on the Cross?
No...
Because, That would mean that Jesus came here & Died for Nothing.
Jesus(the word) would'nt have been sent here to Die for nothing...
Sorry, just typing out loud Grin
Now, I have to find this condensed to 2 words, See ya Later

Answer:  Jesus Christ

1 John 5:11-12 And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. The one who has the Son has this eternal life; the one who does not have the Son of God does not have this eternal

John 3:16-For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not parish but have everlasting life.

That was not exactly the answer I was looking for but it is a factual answer. The two words I was looking for is "hope" and "faith". Even those before the cross had the hope of salvation through faith in the promises of God through the coming event of the shed blood of Christ.

Heb 11:13  These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.
Heb 11:14  For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country.
Heb 11:15  And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned.
Heb 11:16  But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.

That's correct.

Which prophet said that God "foils the signs of false prophets and makes fools of diviners"?

Hi guys and gals!  This is just a little notice that I will take the thread back over starting Wednesday!  I'm getting settled in my new digs now.  I'm encouraged by the number of responses this thread has gotten and the fun that you all are having on here.  I usually only do one per day and Pastor Roger has a standing invitation to post his questions any ol' time he feels like it.
Thank you sooooo much PR for filling in for me!  You are a blessing and a wonderful brother to have!   Grin

In Christ,

Hi Gang!  Sorry I missed yesterday.  I ended up leaving early in the morning and stayed gone all day, treating myself to a haircut and a new outfit!  Whoohoo!
So if we're ready....here we go!  This first one is a tricky one!

What king, mention 1118 times in the Bible is the second most mention man?  (Jesus is the 1st most mentioned)
