He knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold. Job 23:10

He knoweth our frame. Psa. 103:14

He doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men. Lam. 3:33

The foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work. II Tim. 2:19-21

He shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness. Mal. 3:3

Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths. Psa. 25:4

Moses said unto the LORD, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee. And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest. Exo. 33:12-14

He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel. Psa. 103:7

The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way. What man is he that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose. Psa. 25:9, 12

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Psa. 3:5, 6

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psa. 16:11

I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. Psa. 32:8

The fruit of the Spirit is temperance. Gal. 5:22

Every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: but I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway. I Cor. 9:25-27

Be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit. Eph. 5:18

If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. Matt. 16:24

Let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. But let us, who are of the day, be sober. I Thess. 5:6

Denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ. Titus 2:12, 13

Grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ. Eph. 4:15

First the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear. Mark 4:28

Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ. Eph. 4:13

They measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise. But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth. II Cor. 10:12, 17, 18

The body is of Christ. Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which fie hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, and not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God. Col. 2:17-19

Grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. II Pet. 3:18

The goat shall bear upon him all their iniquities unto a land not inhabited: and he shall let go the goat in the wilderness. Lev. 16:22

As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. Psa. 103:12

In those days, and in that time, saith the LORD, the iniquity of Israel shall be sought for, and there shall be none; and the sins of Judah, and they shall not be found: for I will pardon them whom I reserve. Jer. 50:20

Thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea. Micah 7:19

Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity? Micah 7:18

All we like sheep have gone astray: we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. Isa. 53:6

He shall bear their iniquities. Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong, because he hath poured out his soul unto death; and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors. Isa. 53:11, 12

The Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. John 1:29

Who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? I Cor. 4:7

By the grace of God I am what I am. I Cor. 15:10

Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth. James 1:18

It is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. Rom. 9:16

Where is boasting then? It is excluded. Rom. 3:27

Christ Jesus.... is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: ... He that glorieth let him glory in the Lord. I Cor. 1:30, 31

You hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. Eph. 2:1-3

Ye are washed.... ye are sanctified.... ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. I Cor. 6:11

Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins In his own blood. Rev. 1:5

Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it. Love is strong as death. Song 8:7, 6

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13

Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. I Pet. 2:24

In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace. Eph. 1:7

Ye are washed.... ye are sanctified.... ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. I Cor. 6:11

Ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light. I Pet. 2:9

I beseech you . . . brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. Rom. 12:1

There are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. I Cor. 12:5

Over the king's treasures was Azmaveth the son of Adiel: and over the storehouses ... Jehonathan: and over them that did the work of the field for tillage of the ground was Ezri: and over the vineyards was Shimei. 'these were the rulers of the substance which was king David's. I Chron. 27:25-27, 31

God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of hearings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. All these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will. I Cor. 12:28, 11

As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the abilitv which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. I Pet. 4:10, 11

Moses wist not that the skin of his face shone while he talked with him. Exo. 34:29

Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory. Psa. 115:1

Lord, when saw we thee a hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? Matt. 25:37

In lowliness of mind, let each esteem other better than themselves. Phil. 2:3

Be clothed with humility. I Pet. 5:5

[Jesus] was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light. Matt. 17:2

All that sat in the council, looking stedfastly on [Stephen], saw his face as it had been the face of an angel. Acts 6:15

The glory which thou gavest me, I have given them. John 17:22

We all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. II Cor. 3:18

Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Matt. 5:14, 15

There are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. I Cor. 12:6

There fell some of Manasseh to David. And they helped David against the band of the rovers: for they were all mighty men of valour. I Chron. 12:19, 21

The manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. I Cor. 12:7

Of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do. I Chron. 12:32

To one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit. I Cor. 12:8

Of Zebulun, such as went forth to battle, expert in war, with all instruments of war, fifty thousand, which could keep rank: they were not of double heart. I Chron. 12:33

A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. James 1:8

There should be no schism in the body; but ... the members should have the same care one for another. And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it. I Cor. 12:25, 26

One Lord, one faith, one baptism. Eph. 4:5

Call upon me in the day of trouble, I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me. Psa. 50:15

Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God. Psa. 42:11

LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear. Psa. 10:17

For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee. Psa. 86:5

Jacob said unto his household, . . . Let us arise, and go up to Bethel; and I will make there an altar unto God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way which I went. Gen. 35:2, 3

Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits. Psa. 103:2

I love the LORD, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications. Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live. The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow. Then called I on the name of the LORD. Psa. 116:1-4

Yet a little while, (Gr. how little, how little,) and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry. Heb. 10:37

Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. Hab. 2:2, 3

Beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. II Pet. 3:8, 9

Thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth. Psa. 86:15

Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down. For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him. Isa. 64:1, 4

I know that thou canst do every thing. Job 42:2

The things which are impossible with men are possible with God. Luke 18:27

He doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou? Dan. 4:35

There is none that can deliver out of my hand: I will work, and who shall let it? Isa. 43:13

Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee. Mark 14:36

Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord. Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you. Matt. 9:28, 29

Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. And Jesus put forth his hand and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. Matt. 8:2, 3

What is the thing that the Lord hath said unto thee? I Sam. 3:17

He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? Micah 6:8

To keep the commandments of the LORD, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good. Deut. 10:13

As many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for the just shall live by faith. Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made. Gal. 3:10, 11, 19

God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son. Heb. 1:1, 2
