In waiting upon God, the first thought is of the God upon whom we wait. We enter His presence and feel we need just to be quiet, so that He, as God, can overshadow us with Himself. Just be still before Him, and allow His Holy Spirit to waken and stir up in your soul the childlike disposition of absolute dependence and confident expectation. Wait upon God as a Living Being, as the Living God, who notices you and is longing to fill you with His salvation. Wait on God till you know you have met Him; prayer will then become so different. -- Andrew Murray

There is no situation so chaotic that God cannot from that situation, create something that is surpassingly good. He did it at creation. He did it at the cross. He is doing it today. -- Handley C. G. Moule

Are you trying to change a situation by yourself? Are you using the enemy's devices to do it with – lies, deceit, manipulation, pity? If you are, then you are showing a lack of trust in God's ability to take care of you and all that you are going through. Which way do you think is better? Which course of action should a child of God take – trusting in God to work it out, or resorting to the practices of your adversary? – Author Unknown

If you want to discover the "gold" in Scripture, take your time. If you are accustomed to reading through the Bible in a year, you will have to learn to read slowly. The goal isn't to read the Bible but to let the Bible read you. That doesn't normally happen when we rush through the pages.
Madame Guyon described it this way:
"If you read quickly, it will benefit you little. You will be like a bee that merely skims the surface of a flower. Instead, in this new way of reading with prayer, you must become as the bee who penetrates into the depths of the flower. You plunge deeply within to remove its deepest nectar".

HONORED GUESTS
Some feel honored when they are put at the table where the best linen and china are laid. But the ones who are really honored are those who are set at a table where the dishes don't match and the eating utensils are recruited from the kitchen. They are the true and trusted friends who do not need to be complimented or impressed and who would never think of criticizing. And, therefore, the most honored. Author Unknown

"Great God, make me decent, orderly, appreciative, useful, courageous, and kind in the work of the day. Let me not weaken myself by anger, cheapen myself by boasting, or play the fool by lying. "Give me to remember that there are others in the world besides myself, and that they are men like unto me. Teach me to observe the rules of the game; to come out of victory unspoiled; let me not be unmindful of the gift of a friend or foe for both are much of my own making. "For my own sake and the sake of my brethren, keep me wholesome and cheerful, but if the devil of error should grip me at times grant me the sense to go quietly along until the impulse to act wrongly shall have passed. "And at the end of each day bring me to my bed with a knowledge that greed, and malice, and envy, and hatred have played a lesser part in my thinking and are the results of well-being.

As Christians, we know that the ability to
think is a God-given gift.
But sad to say, we can misuse it by
entertaining thoughts that are
vulgar, foul, and mean.
Paul told us to meditate on whatever is
true, noble, just, pure, lovely, virtuous,
praiseworthy,
and of good report - Philippians 4:8.
Lord, help us to discipline our thoughts.
