A man has deprived himself of the best there is in the world who has deprived himself of the Bible.
- Woodrow Wilson

The church is the only conscience the government has. When the church is silent, the state can have no conscience.

I have read Plato and Cicero sayings that are very wise and beautiful; but I never read in either of them: "Come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give thee rest."

"The true man of God is heartsick, grieved at the worldliness of the Church, grieved at the blindness of the Church, grieved at the corruption in the Church, grieved at the toleration of sin in the Church, grieved at the prayerlessness in the Church. He is disturbed that the corporate prayer of the Church no longer pulls down the strongholds of the devil."   Leonard Ravenhill}

"God has honored this generation as He has never honored a generation before. He has thrown dazzling opportunities before it. He has flung wide open for it the doors of access to all parts of His world and has laid at its feet every possible advantage and facility." —  J. Lovell Murray

"You have nothing to do but to save souls. Therefore spend and be spent in this work. And go not only to those that need you, but to those that need you most…It is not your business to preach so many times, and to take care of this or that society; but to save as many souls as you can; to bring as many sinners as you possibly can to repentance." —  John Wesley

And we ourselves are 'saved to save'-we are made to give-to let everything go if only we may have more to give. The pebble takes in all the rays of light that fall on it, but the diamond flashes them out again; every little facet is a means, not simply of drinking more in, but of giving more out." —  Lillias Trotter

Perhaps one reason God delays His answers

to our prayers is

because He knows we need to be with Him

far more than we need

the things we ask of Him.

We need never shout across

the spaces to an absent God.

He is nearer than our own soul,

closer than our most secret thoughts.

Time is too swift for those who fear,

Too long for those who grieve,

Too short for those who rejoice,

But for those who love - time is eternity.

Adversity is not simply a tool. Its God's most effective tool for the
advancement of our spiritual lives. The circumstances and events that we
see as setbacks are oftentimes the very things that launch us into
periods of intense spiritual growth. Once we begin to understand this,
and accept it as a spiritual fact of life, adversity becomes easier to
bear.----Charles Stanley

Knowing as famous 19th century preacher

Charles Spurgeon said;

The trouble with us is to bring our

expectations up to the high level of God 's

willingness to bestow.

Anything big enough to

occupy our minds

is big enough to hang

a prayer on.

God does not offer us a way

out of the testings of life.

He offers us a way through,

and that makes all the difference.

Renewing the mind is a little like refinishing furniture.  It is a two stage
process.  It involves taking off the old and replacing it with the new.
The old is the lies you have learned to tell or were taught by those around
you.  It is the attitude and ideas that have become a part of your thinking
but do not reflect reality.  The new is the truth.  To renew your mind is to
involve yourself in the process of allowing God to bring to the surface
the lies you have mistakenly accepted and replace them with the truth.
To the degree that you do this, your behavior will be transformed.
