Brothers and Sisters, It is wonderful to be a part of this discussion of encouragement! Praise Jesus! NMC, brother know that you will be in my prayers! Brother may I add to this discussion that our Lord always provides a way out of our temptations and may you always remember Ephesians 6:11 (putting on the full armor of God). Dream Weaver once suggested something that I continue to remember to this day. Memorizing a verse from the Bible and when tempted, repeat the verse over in your mind. It has helped me with a lot of different temptations I have faced. Also brother, remember that there is our daily earthly work, and then there is our daily work for the Lord............ Just do the work you have to do and then shut it down. I did that for the first time in quite a while today and found myself face-to-face laughing with a silly four year old who was very glad to have me not working. Thank you all.
Blessings to you! -Am-

Yes, I am enjoying reading this thread. Hello Amorus, Brother, I did have some help with a list that someone else had already done. I've seen another list called "100 Free Things In Christ", and I thought that I had saved it on my computer. It might even be on the forum somewhere, but I can't find it. I really think that list could easily be expanded to 200, or maybe 500 if one took a strong look at atonement, sanctification, purification, redemption, inheritance, fellowship, strength, freedom, prayer, and the list goes on and on. Love In Christ, Tom John 14:6-7 NASB Jesus *said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. "If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; from now on you know Him, and have seen Him." Yes brother and I'm thankful that the list goes on and on!

Gary, my prayers are with you both brother. There is a reason for all things for God's ways of working in us are on purpose. I have had a similar situation in my life and with my wife, for she faced a great evil. Even when she was saved she battled with this demon for years, and I would even hear her calling on the name of the Lord to help her. It was hurtful, and sometimes I questioned if the hurt was deliberate. lt was extremely troubling, however, through this process I learned a very important lesson. There was a time when I felt I could not deal with the situation any longer and then I realized just how much I hurt the Lord with my earthly ways, how many times I told him I would change to bring my relationship with him closer, all the while falling back into the ways of my past. I couldn't imagine the frustration the Lord must have had with me, but he always stood with me, encouraging me to continue forward, always forgiving me when I sincerely asked for it. What I was doing to the Lord was probably much more hurtful to the hurt I was experiencing from what my wife was going through. I wasn't deliberately trying to hurt the Lord, but I wasn't thinking about Him either (what a patient Lord we serve!)...........so I stuck by my wife and prayed and prayed and got my family involved and they prayed. She is a good woman and through her trials has come to great wisdom and shines the light of the Lord where ever she is. I believe she has become a powerful witness for the Lord and for that I am most thankful! At any rate, sorry to babble on, just felt some similarities! May peace and the strength of Jesus bless your heart. -Am-

Ewww...... Code Liver oil, although I take them in a capsule form now, much like vitamine E.....very good for the organs! I remember when Dimetap was by perscription only, and my Mom would give us that for every form of sickness! That and vix vapor rub....haha! The good ole days (to me anyway)! OK - I remember the cinnamon tooth-picks like it was yesterday, so you guys must have been in the TWILIGHT ZONE during the 50s. Nearly every drugstore sold cinnamon oil. If they didn't where you lived you must have been in a different dimension - possibly somewhere near the OUTER LIMITS of the TWILIGHT ZONE. 1950's? Sorry brother, I missed that decade, along with the one that followed and half of the one that followed that!

Anyway, I'm still alive. Still fighting the Devil for every inch of ground I can gain. It's hard to hold on most days, but when I feel like letting go, I reach up to God. My spiritual journey continues, but I feel changes coming over me. Small, yes, but good none-the-less.
