Our schools are still closed, so you know how disappointed my school teacher wife is about being out of school for the entire week.   Cheesy
I'm sure she is!!

I think that part of the value of reading books like Pilgrim's Progress is realizing how difficult things were for Christians before us. We have things easy and are spoiled in comparison. This is just something else to give thanks for.

Before us, and today, too. My family receives a free magazine from "The Voice of the Martyrs" (founded by a persecuted pastor), every month or so; it is a blessing and a challenge to read the stories of people across the world who are currently suffering for their faith and yet rejoicing.

"Pilgrim's Progress" is a Christian Fiction book.  Those among you who don't advocate Christian books, what say you of this?

Josprel
When "Pilgrim's Progress" was published, the author's friends and family couldn't believe that he had come out with such a foolish book.  Grin Grin Grin Now we call it Great Christian Literature...

I HAVE A CAT NAMED SUGAR. SHE'S A LONG-HAIRED DOMAIN CAT WITH A PINK NOSE. SHE LOVES TO TAKE HER PAW AND MOVE HER TOYS NEAR HER WATER. SOMETIMES SHE MANAGES TO GET ONE OF HER TOYS INTO THE BOWL. COULD SOMEONE SHARE WITH ME WHY SHE HAS THIS STRANGE BEHAVIOR.

DONNA
Water is fun. Toys are fun. Toys with water are very fun. Food is also fun, and cats will sometimes drop food in their water for the pleasure of scooping it out. (Just hope that she does not discover the toilet bowl; toilet bowls are very, very, very fun, and they have room for more fun things than ordinary water bowls do.)
Human Children also like to combine toys and water, and are also fascinated with toilet bowls.

Nice to meet Sugar! I have a gray cat named Eek who sleeps in desk drawers and tears up envelopes for nests. She also likes toilets; we keep the lids down and the bathroom doors closed.

Or maybe, "When is the World going to get out of the Church"?

This brilliant young man was standiing under the stars one night, when the Spirit of God came upon him, as he reasoned there must be a God as he stared into the stars.
That is how my dad was 'saved' at the age of 3 or 5; he was staring at all of those stars, and he thought, "somebody must have made all of these". (His parents did not bring him to church until he was in Junior High).

Happy Thursday everyone!

Tonight we have company coming to our house, which means we have to clean, and even dust. I dusted, everyone else cleaned. Now Dad is outside, blowing Snow with a Leaf Blower. He is doing a very good job, considering the tool.

I was thinking of folks at ChristiansUnite last night, especially Tom and Maria, and Pastor Roger and Dreamweaver, as well as a few names that I have not seen in a long time. I'm sorry that I have been neglecting this fellowship. How are you doing?

The oven timer just beeped. Mom asked me, "Has it been ten minutes already? Check the muffins. Do they look firm?"
I checked the muffins. They were still on the counter where I left them, and they looked raw, just like I left them. I will try setting the timer again, this time with muffins in the oven.

It would be wonderful not to have a litter box but that wouldn't work for me as my two girls and a guy have all been declawed and wouldn't be able to survive out side. At least that's what I was told by my vet. Cheesy
Yes, we had to sign papers at the vet's office stating that our cats would never be allowed to go out-of-doors after being declawed.
(The cats did not agree, and they have performed several amazing feats of property patrol, including bringing down hummingbirds and chasing dogs and climbing a few trees)

Tolorah, I am sorry to hear about your cat. My black cat died over a year ago, and I still think about him nearly every day. Some pets give more love than their people can repay.

We only had one person bring a dog back. It was a small puppy that consistantly walked into walls and closed doors. It wasn't blind, either. It would also trip over a grain of sand and fall down. After going to several homes and being returned a little boy finally showed up that took him and kept him. The boy had MS and fell in love with the pup because he was just like him. The pup was perfectly house broken and stuck with the boy almost every where he went.

Hey Willow, good to see you how have you been?
I have been uncommunicative but otherwise good!  Cheesy

The only problem I remember in taking care of them is some preventative measures in making sure they don't get a condition called "ich". I think that's spelled right. It was little white spots that formed on their skin, and they died shortly after getting it if you didn't put the right medicine in the water.
I was told to put pennies, or other substances containing copper, in the tank to help Ick. Or maybe that was another fish-disease...chronic gambling, maybe, I don't know...
