1  Theology / Apologetics / Re:Intolerance on: September 17, 2003, 04:43:20 AM
Yes, isn't it interesting that those who are "free thinkers', atheists, homosexuals, and such, will tolerate anything that is evil. Their mantra is "Choice" and "who am I or you to judge another".

What a ludicrous assertion. Do you really believe that.?

2  Fellowship / Just For Women / Re:Plastic surgery on: September 10, 2003, 10:57:54 AM
Please can someone give me an educated/reliable answer on what God's or the bibles views are regarding christianity and plastic surgery (ie: breast enlargements).  Is this a sin?

If you believe beauty is truth it is.
There is much materialism in the world today ,people think your worth ultimately measures on how good you look and how much money you have, wanting plastic surgery wanting a bigger house wanting a new car wanting bigger breasts it never stops, that’s what God calls greed.

If you want to know what God cares about. He cares about the poor and needy the humble. And he wants us to be happy with who we are, and not to worry about the way we look.
3  Theology / Apologetics / Re:Does God choose people? on: September 02, 2003, 04:44:12 AM
What I believe is that God chooses people who are most Godly like, then leads them to the Gospel in which he gives them salvation through Jesus Christ, that’s what I believe.

I was not a godly person, far from it. I wasn’t a criminal but I wasn’t godly.

Good point! And I don’t think there is any such thing as a Godly person I think I said it wrong. As someone said before, God calls on sinners to come to repentance and he knows their hearts.
4  Theology / Apologetics / Does God choose people? on: September 01, 2003, 04:44:41 AM
I often wonder does God choose people he wants saved. Some people say that he doesn’t` and that it’s` up to us to preach the gospel that they might choose salvation, others say God chose people before creation.
What I believe is that God chooses people who are most Godly like, then leads them to the Gospel in which he gives them salvation through Jesus Christ, that’s what I believe.
Anyway I think about this all the time and I would like to hear what you believe.

Thanks

God Bless.

5  Prayer / Prayer Requests / Re:This board on: August 31, 2003, 09:27:15 AM
As brothers and sisters in Christ, we all need to pray for each other and encourage each other. This is an evil world, but this life is short and nothing in comparison to the Glory that will be in JESUS FOR ETERNITY.

The Bible makes it clear that Christians will have their trials, troubles, and persecutions here. Christians Unite has a specific purpose of fellowship between Christians, but it is not immune from the problems of the world. The peace and quiet here goes up and down, much like real life. However, there is a core of strength and sweetness here who are Christians. It is nice when that core grows and fellowship grows.

It is amazing how much good is done here, despite the efforts of those who are here to disrupt or destroy the good. If you subtract the trolls and those here for evil, it's also amazing that over 500 people of various faiths and denominations are getting what Christians Unite is really for, fellowship. Yes, we have varying disagreements from time to time, but the fellowship is still there.

There will come a time on this earth when Christians will have trials and be persecuted like no other time. Maybe that time is approaching. Our fellowship with Christ and each other will become more and more dear.

In Christ,
Tom

7  Welcome / About You! / Re:How God absolutely turned my life around in less than a year and a half! on: August 29, 2003, 07:25:21 AM
WOW. This post has made my day thanks Smiley
I’m glad you posted this today because I have had some big struggles and mistakes in my life and I’m a Christian well try to be. But God will never let go of you and I have noticed that when I fall away from God its hopeless I can’t go back. But the time comes when I’m in a humble state I need his help. And I feel the need of God so strong that nothing else is better than the grace and mercy of God,
Your post is a good testimony to people it shows that being a Christian isn’t all flowers in the air, you said that Many times during your teenage years you had contemplated suicide me too. There is a lot of wisdom in what you said and I think you should keep telling people for it tells the truth.

God has us all on a short leash doesn’t he
BTW Where in Australia do you live? I live in Melbourne victoria

GOD BLESS Wink

Anyone who honors the Scriptures on the subject of gay behavior would quickly determine it is a sin, an abomination, and the prescribed punishment in the Old Testament was stoning to death. If the gays think their open sin and abomination is going to be accepted and respected, they are one fry short of a happy meal. Respect and acceptance can't and won't be legislated.

Opposition to homosexuality is being aimed at behavior; not people. It is the duty of individual Christians and Christ's Church to bring the gospel to homosexuals and to speak out against the acceptance of sin in the culture. Efforts to convince society that homosexual behavior is normal should be opposed for fear of the judgment of God on individual homosexuals, society at large, and on the nation.
