It's just a form of irony, that's all.
2  Fellowship / You name it!! / Re: Former witches, now Christians on: June 05, 2007, 02:28:13 PM
Good to know, thanks. I heard that statement on Bill O'Reilly so maybe I misunderstood. Thanks for the correction.
3  Entertainment / Movies / Re: Praying for Hollywood on: June 05, 2007, 05:17:19 AM
God has laid it upon my heart to pray for Hollywood, also.

I once had a dream after praying and I saw the studio where the Exorcist was film. Suddenly there was fire out of heaven come down on it burning it until there was nothing left.

God is working in Hollywood. Just keep praying. Entertainers need the Lord, too.

We are under attack daily by television, by movies, by magazines, by newspapers, by the radio, by the computer telling us that occultism and witchcraft is a desirable and acceptable thing. And trying to explain to someone in Wicca or Heathenism, or anyother -ism that does not promote Christian beliefs, the dangers of dabbling into demonic things is dangerous, well they just don't see the danger. They don't see the harm of using "white" witchcraft.
And some churches have allowed in secular music into their worship. I saw on TV where one church was worshiping using the music of Bono. The world sees him as a savior type.
One of the most difficult things to be today is a Christian. The devil is attempting to wear us down and he really knows how to pull the strings.
Christianity is under attack in our homes, our schools, our colleges, our work places and in our churches. There is an all-out attempt to change Christian holidays and erase all references to Christ or Christianity. Rosie O'Donnell has compaired radial Christianity to radical Islamism saying they are just as dangerous. When was the last time you saw a Christian strap a bomb to their baby and throw it in a car?

Christ, Christians and Christianity is looked on as something to be eliminated. But this is nothing new. The cross is looked upon as an offense by the world but we who are saved look upon it as life.

How do you refine gold? By putting the gold into fire and heating it, the goldsmith knows when the gold is pure when he sees his own reflection in it.

God is turning the heat up. He wants His children to reflect Him. That's all that's going on.

Pray, Rejoice and Praise because our Lord is coming soon. You know how I know? I looked in the back the book!! Guess what? HE WINS!!!!
5  Theology / Prophecy - Current Events / A Generation on: April 12, 2007, 02:55:01 PM
This morning as I was listening to the anointed singing of Jason Upton I really felt a cry from the Heart of God go out to the world. It was as though God is sending warning to everyone and so I sent it out to everyone in my e-mail address and even sent it to every single person I have on my Myspace.com account. I have family there as well as people from all walks of life and beliefs. I may alienate some of them but I must say what the Lord has but on my heart. Here is what I sent out:

__________________________________________________________________________ __________________________________

For those of you who have an ear to hear listen.

"A generation that's not neccessarily an age group but a generation of the church. This is a generation that God is drawing into intimacy with His Heart. The sound of the passion of the Heart of God is rising drawing us into a deeper intimacy than before."
--- Jason Upton

This is a drawing that will supercede all religious beliefs, all man-made fears and all bondage to sin and its consequences. Never before in the history of mankind will there ever be a movement towards the Mercy Seat of God as this will is.

Scoffers Be Warned!

God is getting ready to shake the earth like it has never been shaken before. Those who are lukewarm or are playing alongside the River of God will drop to their knees and cry out for mercy. Be ready to run into the Arms of God. If you miss this you will miss eternity.
Don't listen to the so-called religious leaders who are hirelings and wolves that seek to deceive. Listen to the cry of your own heart as it cries out to God. Don't let anyone or anything get in your way or hinder you.

Run to God because your life will depend upon it.

6  Fellowship / You name it!! / Cartoonist, Johnny Hart, dies at 76 on: April 08, 2007, 07:56:02 PM
I was saddened to hear about the death of cartoonist Johnny Hart who was the creator of the comic strip "B.C." who died at his storyboard at his home.
He was a born again Christian who's faith was expressed through his comic strip.

My favorite comic is one where one of the characters stands on a rock and yells out:
"Let everything that has breath Praise the Lord!"
And behind him some fish in a pond poke lift their heads up out of the water and say,"Praise the Lord!" He looks at you and says - "Lung fish."

We will meet him once again when we get to heaven.

7  Theology / General Theology / Passover as a Christian holiday? on: March 31, 2007, 06:50:36 PM
In the Spring of the year when we celebrate Easter the Jews celebrate Passover. Can a Christian also celebrate Passover or any Jewish holidays in a Christian way?

If so, how?
8  Fellowship / Witnessing / Whatever you call your vehikcle on: March 31, 2007, 06:42:40 PM
I once heard Mike Warnke tell this story and I have used it to get others to thinking.

I was driving down the street in my car when I suddenly started having car troubles. I pulled along side the road  just as my car engine stopped . I tried to start it over and over but I could not get it to start again. I had no choice but to get out of the car and go search for help.

Now the question is, when I got out of the car did I cease to exist?

Of course not, I did not cease to exist. I simply traded one reality for another.

The first reality was, I was driving down the street. The second reality was, I was walking down the street.

And that is how it will be when we die. We simply exchange realities.
One day these fleshly Fords, these chivalrous Chevys, these Portly Pontiacs, or whatever you call your vehicle, will one day pull over to side of the road of life, stop and never start again.
The outside will die but the spirit lives on.

Now where will you go?  We will all live eternally but where will you live?

I has helped me to open up the conversation to speak to others about Jesus and what He has done for me and where I will be living eternally.
You may not always get a positive response but you at least get them to thinking and an opportunity for the Holy Spirit to work on their thoughts.
9  Theology / Debate / q! on: March 31, 2007, 06:11:33 PM
This topic is purely hypothetical, so please don't start off by saying "aliens don't exist" or anything to that effect. This topic DOES NOT deal with UFO sightings or alien abductions, so let us not concern ourselves with those kinds of things. This topic is FILLED with hypothetical scenarios, so don't take it too seriously.

Let us take a consideration. Let us assume, that since the Universe is so extremely large, God has decided to create life not just on planet Earth, but also on other planets as well. Let us also assume that some of these life forms are as intelligent as, or even more intelligent than, us humans. Assuming (purely hypothetically) that such a scenario is true, I ask your input on several questions:

1) Does human-like or superhuman intelligence automatically denote an ability to distinguish between right and wrong? Or could superintelligent aliens, despite being so smart, not be able to comprehend true morally?

2) Would God give such intelligent aliens an immortal soul and moral responsibilities? Or would they be nothing more than something like 'smart animals' which simply cease to exist when they die?

3) If such aliens did have an immortal soul and moral responsibilities, would Jesus need to come in their form and die for their sins too? Or would his death on the cross on Earth be sufficient for all intelligent life in the Universe? Would aliens go to the same Heaven as humans, or a different Heaven?

Even though the Bible doesn't tell us that there is life on other planets, that doesn't necessarily mean that it doesn't exist. Maybe we simply weren't meant to know about each other. It is possible, that intelligent aliens are so far removed from us that we will never have an opportunity to hear radio signals from them before the end of this current era. In such a case, we would isolated from them and then it really wouldn't matter much whether God told us about them or not. After all, if obedient humans can make God happy, then couldn't he also create aliens that could be just as obedient as humans?

10  Fellowship / What are you doing? / Encouraging Eachother on: March 29, 2007, 10:56:18 AM
Encouraging eachother in the Lord is one of the things God has really impressed upon me to do. So saying that please allow me to share with you a story I read by Andrea Doering.

"TEND MY SHEEP" --- John 21:17

When I was growing up we lived near open fields tall and thick with grass. Twice a year a herd of sheep would appear and spend a month or so grazing – the latest in organic fire prevention efforts!
The shepherd would park his little camper under a tree and disappear. I rarely saw him but I did see his sheep. I had to go through the fields to get to my best friend’s house.
Most days we did just fine, the sheep and I. I raced down the hard dirt path on my Schwinn as they grazed in the field. But I learned the truth about sheep one day. As I rode over the hill and into the field the sheep had decided to stop in the middle of the road.
I thought they would  move when I rode near them. They didn’t. I tried shouting. No response. It was as if I didn’t exist. Which from their point of view, I didn’t. I had no claim on them and they knew it. And if they weren’t sure before I spoke they were sure after. My voice gave it all away – I wasn’t the shepherd!
Finally the shepherd stepped out of his trailor, saw me and said a word. One word from him and the sheep moved. They knew he was in charge and they could trust him.
There are times for all of us when we stand in the middle of our own fields listening to voices giving us direction. You may wonder how you can tell which voice is from God. I take heart from my memory of those sheep. We are the sheep of God's pasture. We know the Good Shepherd's voice, because we belong to Him, and we have "heard" it before, in His Word. When He speaks, you'll move and not a moment before. Trust me.

Be encouraged! When God speaks you will know His voice and trust Him.

11  Entertainment / Movies / Re: Whats the last movie you watched?? on: March 29, 2007, 10:04:47 AM
I just watched "Saints and Soldiers". A very touching story about 5 men that survived the Malmedy massacre during World War 2. One of the characters I think is a Mormon but they don't actually say so. The only reference is that he doesn't drink coffee or smoke. But he does read a little black book in the shape of a Holy Bible and he prays. The story is very touching and moving. And it's based on history. I'm a history buff so I like that kind of thing.

14  Entertainment / Television / Re: What TV Show Would You Bring Back on: March 09, 2007, 02:43:51 PM
The Dick Van Dyke Show.
I always laughed at Dick, Laura, Buddy and Sally.
Clean, funny jokes and one-liners as well as prat falls.
Morrey Amsterdam always kept me in stitches.
15  Entertainment / Television / Re: Addams Family or Munsters.... on: March 09, 2007, 02:34:45 PM
I voted for the Addams Family but it was hard as I love them both.
But my favorite cartoon is Futurama. They call the time that Fry is from - the late 20th Century to the 21st Century - the Stupid Ages.
If you think about it they're right. We do live in the Stupid Ages.

*note - Futurama is rated M for mature
