Looks like it's time to stock up at the church. I'm suffering from sticker shock on coffee and tea. I tried to stock up on them before the prices increased very much. It didn't work too well. My family started drinking more coffee and tea instead of sodas because of the cost so I had to go buy more coffee and tea today. The price is now around 125% higher than it was the last time I bought some which was just about 2 months ago. Whew!
Brother Tom, I see those storms crossing your area. There is a line of them from Iowa down into Texas. If they don't die out first it looks like they will reach here sometime tomorrow. We hit 91 degrees today but it is supposed to be a bit cooler tomorrow. Then more storms hitting starting Monday. This pattern of weather reminds me of the 60's.

Hello DreamWeaver,
That was definitely a huge storm front, one like I've never seen. Our end result here was pretty good, and I know that many folks further North got hit much worse. We had some times without electricity, and we still have a city West of us without electricity. Overall, we give thanks that we didn't have it much worse. I don't think we even have any new damage, but many people lost it all further North. We just had 70+ mph winds here, lots of lightning, and raining buckets of water. Our little weather alert radio worked itself pretty hard over about a 24 hour period of time, and things seem to have settled down now.
We have much to give thanks for here and are praying for those in Minnesota and other places who lost so much. I firmly believe that we are going to see many more things like this, and it won't have a thing to do with global warming. In fact, I firmly believe there will be a global pattern of ever increasing disasters of all kinds. The world won't believe it, but Bible Prophecy foretells it. There won't be a single thing that man can do about it, and the same will be true of many other horrors yet to come. CHRIST WILL BE AND IS THE ONLY ANSWER FOR ETERNITY!
In the meantime, we CAN AND SHOULD all pray for each other. We can also yield ourselves for GOD'S Use until the last moment.

Well for Pete's sake! I've been running amuck around here all day and nobody to play with! I can tell by everyone's latest posts that you guys were up all night and have probably slept the day away! Hello GrammyLuv, Sister, my name isn't "Pete" You are so cracking me up today!! I got the mission van this morning and took some of our women to a new (to us) church. It's a church that I had visited a few years ago but I didn't care too much for the pastor. Well I'd heard that they'd gotten a new pastor and I wanted to check it out because when I move in a couple of weeks it will only be a couple of miles from my apt. I am happy to report that the service was great! I enjoyed it and 2 out of the 3 that went with me said they wanted to go back! So cool! It's even got a sweet little name: Church-By-The-Side-of-The-Road ! |
