Learn with your heart, for it teaches you truth.

I was recently reading literature that had the quote, "No one comes to the Father except through me". And I have, for a long time, believed this to be true. And the basis for a true Christian faith. Simply said you must have faith in Christ and believe in His existance {death, resurection, alive today}, and you cannot get to God, Heaven, Afterlife, without going through Jesus first.

But my Mother heard me saying this, and challenged me. She said "Oh really? Show me where this is stated in the Bible!

Now I am dumbfounded and cannot find this passage!
I had thought around John 14:16 or something. The whole of the passage went something like this:

Jesus speaking - red letter;
"I am the way the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me".

Please help me prove my Mother wrong or at least find my mistake!!! Help Help  Huh

Oklahoma Howdy to Skyreacher,

You are correct, the verse you seek is in the beautiful 14th Chapter of John, verse 6:

John 14:6  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Everthing after the first comma is "red letter", the words of Jesus Christ.

  "There is one mediator between God and man, the Man Christ Jesus."
  " Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is none other name given in heaven or earth whereby we must be saved." (Acts)
  "If you believe not that I am He, you shall die in your sins,"

Galatians 4:16   Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?

  "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ Jesus, according as He has chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world." Therefore, there is no spiritual blessing whatsoever but those blessimgs given in Christ.
