Not that I believe this has anything to do with the end times, but it is freaky and interesting to say the least.

Noon turns to night as cloud blacks out sun
(China Daily)
Updated: 2004-11-12 08:57

newsphoto.com.cn

Day turned to night across Shenyang when a freak cloud formation 8,000 metres deep blanketed the northeastern city.

For over half-an-hour noon was as black as midnight. Cars, buses and lorries went someway to breaking up the darkness.

Tremendous lightening flashes accompanied the phenomena, reports the website www.sina.com.cn.  <----(chinese text only at this link)

Convergence of two cloud fronts formed the 8,000-metre-thick connective cloud cluster.

With sky and sun effectively blocked out, visibility was reduced to near zero, according to an expert from the provincial capital's meteorological bureau.

The marvellous spectacle was also reported in many other areas of Liaoning Province and lasted for half an hour in some places, he said.

The meteorologist warned that temperatures are likely to plummet in the coming days.

How strange is that?

It would seem that this is not a freaky as I first thought.  8,000 metres is roughly 25,000 feet I believe?   Some dry storms in western US can easily reach 50 to 60,000 feet.  Having been under a few of these, it can seem very dark indeed.   Maybe rare for China, but not so here in the US.  That is.........unless a large UFO is doing experiments over there... Tim, there was an article several years ago in U.S. News with a map showing a large area in India and Asia where smog is gathering.

Much from, believe it or not, cooking fires.  With such growing pop'n density, more and more people cooking...

China and India alone have 1/3 the pop of the world, over 1b each.

This may dovetail with one of the seven trumpets, or seven bowls, of revelation...

I have always thought it would probably be due to major volcanoes or more likely, nuclear exchange.   Evidence for the latter is even hinted at in scripture.

When I first saw this article it jumped out at me, but after thinking about it (converting meters to feet) I realized it was probably just overblown speak in the article....such as the black as midnight quotes.   Being an avid storm chaser I have been under many storm clouds where the use of lights due to darkness was necessary right here in the Midwest.
