I saw a billboard yesterday in central Kansas that said
"ACCEPT THE LORD JESUS CHRIST OR REGRET IT FOR ETERNITY!"
Why is the word of the all-loving son of God being pressed upon the world in such a hateful, fear-inducing manner?
Is this not in contrast to the teachings of Jesus?
Why do so many Christians say to homosexuals and those who partake in premarital sex that they'll "burn in hell?"
Isn't it the job of The Creator to judge our sins?
What has happened to Christianity?
Do you think that the modern political world may have commandeered the word of God for its own benefit, using the loyalty to faith and Christ that so many share in the US as a basis for doing so?
I'm so scared and confused!

Keanon,
I can see you are confused, and maybe you should be scared.
Many will reject Jesus and die in their sins. They will most definitely face the eternal wrath of God.
However, there is GOOD NEWS. Jesus Christ died on the Cross for us. The blood of Jesus will wash us clean of our sins, and HE will save us from the wrath to come.
Today would be a good day for you to accept Jesus Christ into your heart as Lord and Saviour.

What has happened to Christianity?
The answer is simple, man keeps trying to water down the message that is preached, but heres a little of what God has to say:
Num 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
Deu 4:24 For the LORD thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.
Deu 6:15 (For the LORD thy God is a jealous God among you) lest the anger of the LORD thy God be kindled against thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth.
Nah 1:2 God is jealous, and the LORD revengeth; the LORD revengeth, and is furious; the LORD will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies.
Mal 3:6 For I am the LORD, I change not;
Pro 24:21 My son, fear thou the LORD and the king: and meddle not with them that are given to change:
2Co 11:2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.
Psa 145:17 The LORD is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works.
Pro 9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
Eze 18:25 Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. Hear now, O house of Israel; Is not my way equal? are not your ways unequal?
The good news is:
Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Isa 55:7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
Isa 55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
REPENT OR PERISH IS STILL THE WORD OF GOD.

You may think the billboard is harsh and in America today we are taught to except others "differences" and that no one is wrong we just all have different opinions this is where that feeling comes from. But the billboard speaks the truth and the truth always helps. Also God says almost the same thing why should we not tell people what God will do.

Brothers and Sisters,
We've been talking to a group of trolls who pre-planned to come here, act like Christians, stir things up, and go back to a larger mob to share their Christian hunting exploits.
We were a subject of much laughter, mocking, and labeling with various terms of cursing and filth. The game was to act like Christians, push our buttons, play with us, and report back to a larger mob.
11 have been banned - 9 or more belonging to the same mob. The mob probably numbers over 200.
The person starting this thread was one of the worst of them.

Why do these people or groups do stuff like that? I am still fairly new to all this, but just don't understand it. I have to and hate to admit it, but I used to be someone who would make fun of Chrsitians and what not (but not proud of it. In fact I'm very ashamed of it), but I would never go to the lengths that some of these people will go to just to try and get a laugh.

Simply because of arrogance and having little self worth. It makes someone feel better when they can belittle others. For a little bit they feel like they have an up on you.
It's really sad actually.
