All this talk about eggnog makes me want to go out and buy some or make some. I made some one time. Pretty tasty. About the only time that something that I made turned out right. Well off to the cook book.

I don't have eggnog, and I don't feel like making it.
Me and the cat eat breakfast together sometimes - not out of the same dish. I have my cereal or leftovers, and she has a few bites of my food and some of her own munchies. I pour her a bowl of water - she's funny about water, she thinks its a special treat if she can have it fresh and wriggling. (She's fortunate when she gets samples of my meals. Usually I just tease her with my food and don't give her anything.)
I saw a guy in the checkout lane the other day. His cart was full of name-brand pet food, you know, the good, expensive stuff. But his people-food consisted of donuts and some other cheap, low-nutrient snacks. Why is it that American pets eat better than their owners?

Don't forget that it is also only in America that animals have more rights then people.

not out of the same dish Why is it that American pets eat better than their owners? B/c 'mericans are spoiled rotten. I buy the cheapest dry catfood - my two kitties really like it. And they get table scraps. I quit eating ice cream, so they got the remainder of that. O Happy Day!!

Yes, Kris, I've made egg nog too. It was okay. I really like the commercial stuff, now, tho.
I'm not sure I trust using raw eggs, like I'm thinking just about any home recipe would call for, these days.
Use to you could taste the cake or cookie batter; when I was kid Mom let us lick the beaters. But now they say cuz of bacteria risk not to eat raw eggs.
So I don't know how folk who make their own egg nog are working around that one.
Maybe some recipes require you to cook the nog a little? I dunno.
