I agree, this won't happen. I do wonder what the people already living in South Carolina think about the idea. I appreciate living in America and would not like the idea of being told that I would not be an American any longer.
How about it ? Anyone from South Carolina ?

Yes it is for real, I doubt it happens though. The feds wouldn't like it, and would attack the nation. Because of breaking away from the United States. |

I would think Texas probably has to large a population for 50,000 (some odd) new voters to make a difference. Perhaps a less populated state would be more appropriate.
Can't Texas legally leave the union ?

According to the articles of annexation, Texas has two options available to it that cannot be abrogated by the feds. 1. To divide itself into no more than 5 other states, each state being a part of a confederation, and not requiring annexation by the US if they should so choose. 2. To revert to a sovereign Republic upon majority vote of the inhabitants of the state. DON'T mess with TEXUS! |

Any state with the Republic in front of the states name can do it. If memory serves me right there are 5 states with "Republic" in front of the states name. |
