Apparently, it is real.  There is a story on WorldNetDaily about it today:
http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=38571

Interesting concept.  I for one don’t think the Feds will ever let it happen.

I agree, this won't happen.  I do wonder what the people already living in South Carolina think about the idea.  I appreciate living in America and would not like the idea of being told that I would not be an American any longer.

How about it ?  Anyone from South Carolina ?

Yes it is for real, I doubt it happens though. The feds wouldn't like it, and would attack the nation. Because of breaking away from the United States.

I would think Texas probably has to large a population for 50,000 (some odd) new voters to make a difference.  Perhaps a less populated state would be more appropriate.

Can't Texas legally leave the union ?

God Bless !

I did hear of some inexpensive land in Guyana.  Also a joke I can't quite remember, the punch line was very long.  Lips Sealed

We are. A whole 'nother country.

According to the articles of annexation, Texas has two options available to it that cannot be abrogated by the feds.

1. To divide itself into no more than 5 other states, each state being a part of a confederation, and not requiring annexation by the US if they should so choose.

2. To revert to a sovereign Republic upon majority vote of the inhabitants of the state.

Oh yeah, Texas is a Republic. Any state with the Republic in front of the states name can do it. If memory serves me right there are 5 states with "Republic" in front of the states name.

Apparently point one is (partially) true but point two isn't:
Quote
Another Texas-related legend holds that the Texans negotiated an annexation treaty which reserved to them the right to secede from the Union without the consent of the U.S. Congress, but the terms of Texas' annexation contain no such provision.

"Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature" (Mark 16:15).

Jesus called Herod a fox. Daniel managed the affairs of state of Babylon and Persia. Samuel proclaimed that God had taken the kingdom from Saul and given it to David. Elijah proclaimed that Jezebel the queen would be fed to the dogs and Ahab killed, and anointed Jehosophat the new king.

There is a time for everything. America has now removed the Bible, prayer, the commandments, and God, from the schools, while saying "Hath not God said..". It has butchered tens of millions of innocent babies in sacrifice to its God Molech. Its kings and priests have blessed sodomy and hedonism, framed injustice by a law, it has blessed the persecutors of Christianity, its governors and presidents and kings say "The temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord are these", but "do not the things that I say". Its "ministers" are like those wicked of Ezekiel 8 that God showed His prophet were worshipping the sun.

Following a false doctrine in the face of John 3:36, it has gladly followed its leaders in blessing a land that suppresses Christians with all its might and turns around and says "Thou hast a devil. Who goeth about to kill thee?" God says they are "smoke in my nostrils". (And with all that, He begs his detractors to repent and live)

God is about to strike some blows against the Evil Empire.

I myself am not innocent. God help me.
