I was just wondering, if anyone had seen this movie. What you thought of it. 'Bout fifteen years ago, I think, Steve Martin, Debra Winger, Liam Neeson(as the Sheriff)...

Great movie. The ending surprised me only because it came out of Hollywood. I figured Martin would change eventually but was shocked to see they actually allowed a no-holes-barred miracle do the trick. Very atypical for them.
Film industry 'reform' is usually done without any explicit reference to God.

I don’t know, last minute saves are just Hollywood’s style, I think. This was a classic Hollywood/Fairy Tale ending.

Tibby, is that good or bad, a classic "Hollywood/Fairytale" ending?
Yes, that was my thought, too, Corpus. I was surprised. I really liked it. But really only after I'd seen it the second time. I decided to chalk up any "pollyannaishness" to my own notion that God's glory may increasingly be popping up in the unlikliest of places.
What do you think, Tibby?

Both! lol, it depends on the movie. Some movies pull of these great last minute rescues that shock and awe the audience, while other movie cut off the half-done ending the wrote at the last second. I am just saying, it just the kind of thing Hollywood, and Martin, would do. Even the Bible has a few of them. Some stories, like that of Ruth, are great endings, the perfect Romantic Comedy, a lonely poor girl meets a Rich guy, happy ending. Don’t some of the stories in Judges (Not all, some) they are like “And he saved the kingdom, the end” And your like WHAT!?
So, is a good or a bad thing? In the case of Leap of Faith, it is a good thing. People like happy endings. People spend money on what they like. Hollywood likes money. Therefore, Hollywood will produce more Fairytale endings.

Thanks, brotherlove. Yep, I liked Leap. I saw Ghost only once--had some good points to make, seemed like to me.
Why did you like it(Ghost)?

Symphony,
There's only one thing I remember about "Leap of Faith" - it made me laugh.
Gee, was it really that long ago? Now that makes me want to cry.

"Leap" seemed so out of character for Hollywood, to me, when it came out, about 15 years ago(?). It had such a pleasant ending.
But, maybe it was just,"Oh, let's throw another bone to the religous right, just to keep'm happy," or, "more opiate for the masses".
But even so, Jesus' message still gets through, even if maybe Hollywood intended it otherwise. That's the way I see it.
Believeing in miracles; what God is going to do today. Today is a new day. There never be another like it. Just this only one.
Thank you, Jesus.
