IN TODAY’S EDITION
After an Islamic terror attack in Barcelona, CNN dares to compare it to Charlottesville. There was no collusion between Trump and Putin. The CIA says so. Aborting Down syndrome kids isn’t the same as eradicating Down syndrome. Daily Features: Top Headlines, Cartoons, Columnists and Short Cuts.
THE FOUNDATION
“The care of human life and happiness, and not their destruction, is the first and only legitimate object of good government.” —Thomas Jefferson (1809)
TOP RIGHT HOOKS
CNN: ‘Say, Islamic Terrorists Just Copied White Racists’1
Europe experienced yet another outrageous terror attack on Thursday — and again it was carried out by suspected Islamic terrorists who drove a van into a crowd of pedestrians, killing 13 and injuring more than 50 others in Barcelona, Spain. Clearly, plowing vehicles into crowds is the new Islamist terror tactic of choice. This attack comes only five days after the Charlottesville riot where a young woman was killed when a white supremacist rammed his car into a crowd of protesters.
So we’re not surprised that this was CNN’s “in-depth reporting” on the Spain terror attack: Correspondent Jim Sciutto said, “In light of the uproar of the last several days, five days apart you have a white supremacist in Charlottesville use a vehicle to kill, and here you have attackers at least following the modus operandi of terrorists using vehicles apparently to kill as well, and those shared tactics that should be alarming.” Anchor Wolf Blitzer, rather than questioning Sciutto’s obviously faulty and ridiculous assertion, chose instead to reinforce the flawed connection, responding, “Yeah, there will be questions about copycats. There will be questions about what happened in Barcelona. Was it at all, at all a copycat version of what happened in Charlottesville, Virginia? … They used the same killing device, a vehicle.”
Clearly CNN has an agenda to connect2 the murderous act of a white supremacist with the terrorist attack of suspected Islamic terrorists. But it’s utterly ridiculous to suggest that those who perpetrated the terror attack in Barcelona were inspired by the Charlottesville attack. The idea that the use of a vehicle as a murder weapon is somehow a novel concept first seen in Charlottesville is flat-out absurd. What of Nice, France, or London, England? Barcelona is the eighth such vehicular attack in Europe in 2017 alone.
But CNN’s fake news commentary wasn’t limited to its reporting on the Spain terror attack. Earlier in the week CNN published a dubious map of “hate groups” in the U.S. We say dubious because CNN relied on the grossly biased and left-leaning Southern Poverty Law Center3 for its listing of such “hate groups.” The SPLC profits handsomely from its efforts, including a $1 million donation4 from Apple just this week. But however well-intentioned the organization began, it’s now little more than a left-wing hate group itself. Its listing wrongly classifies several conservative groups as hate groups simply because their political positions aren’t leftist-approved. With alt-leftist hate groups like antifa5 justifying violence against those they claim promote hate, CNN has put conservatives at risk6. At CNN, it’s less about reporting the news and more about promoting leftist propaganda.
Publisher’s Note: August Break Next Week
Fortunately, Congress has adjourned for its August recess, though the din of the Beltway Demo/Leftmedia rancor7 will take no holiday. Because The Patriot Post team operates on a very tight budget, both in terms of manpower and financial resources, our content and quality would suffer if we were a man-down during the year while providing our editors and staff a week off with their families. Thus, as they all need a break from the rigors of relentless publishing deadlines, we pause our operations for a week in August.
Of course, our Top Headlines8 and Right Opinion9 sections will be updated throughout the coming week. Our Patriot Humor edition will be delivered on schedule Monday, and you’ll hear from Mark Alexander next Wednesday. (If you’re not subscribed to Patriot Humor or Alexander’s Column, log in to your account10 and select those options.) We’ll be back on the regular publication schedule on Monday, Aug. 28.
Busted: CIA Refutes Demo/MSM Collusion About Collusion11
By Mark Alexander
According to Daniel Hoffman, former CIA Station Chief in Moscow from 2012-2017, there is no evidence of collusion between Donald Trump12 and Vladimir Putin — as we have asserted repeatedly13.
Hoffman told NPR14, “Overall I haven’t seen any evidence of anyone actually colluding with the Russians — of Russian intelligence colluding with a campaign to cause harm to another.”
In his New York Times op-ed, “It Wasn’t About Collusion15,” Hoffman says Putin deliberately left a trail of breadcrumbs from Trump Tower to the Kremlin.
On the meeting with Trump Jr.16, Hoffman says, “It pointed to a discoverable influence operation rather than some effort to establish a clandestine channel for collusion.”
Hoffman told CNN, “I think the evidence from that meeting points to an effort by the Kremlin to influence rather than some sort of a covert back channel for collusion. Vladimir Putin wants to soil our democratic institutions, and I think he found the best way to do that would be to tie us to the Kremlin.”
In other words, as we have also repeatedly argued, the whole “Trump/Putin collusion” charade has been propagated by the Demo/MSM propaganda machine7 to undermine the legitimacy17 of Trump’s election.

FEATURED RIGHT ANALYSIS The ‘Brave New World’ of Down Syndrome Eugenics32
By Brian Mark Weber
In the novel “Brave New World” by Aldous Huxley, readers are presented with a dystopian vision of the future in which the whole process of conception and birth is delegated to the scientific community. Parents have no emotional connection to their children, and motherhood itself is considered embarrassing and obscene.
The novel, written in 1931, seemed far-fetched at the time. Yet it wasn’t long after Huxley penned his dark and frightening tale that science and politics began to consider the implications, and the possibilities, of playing God with human reproduction in order to bring about desired results.
Columnist David Harsanyi writes33, “[‘Negative selection’ eugenics] was the rationalization behind the coerced sterilization of thousands of mentally ill, poor, and minorities here in America. It is why real-life Nazis required doctors to register all newborns born with Down syndrome. And the first humans they gassed were children under three years old with ‘serious hereditary diseases’ like Down syndrome.”
