Oklahoma Howdy to Justme & Tibby,
Justme,
Our war was going long before you got here. I actually believe that you and others who are thinking about this are part of the solution. We can choose to ignore war threads and they will die by themselves. We can and should all pray about how we treat each other, Christians and non-Christians. It is obviously more difficult to communicate with each other in Christian love, but that is what Jesus commanded us to do. We will all fail from time to time, and then it would be time to pray for some more for guidance and wisdom. Justme, I can assure you that I've failed many more times that you have. We can also pray for each other.
Tibby,
I don't think that we can write a rule for everything. The rules would be a 500 page manual if you left plenty of gaps.
I think the easiest solution is for all of us to pray about what fuel we add or remove from potential fires. You may not be old enough to have heard the old saying, "It takes two to fight". Another analogy might be creating a bonfire when one person has the matches and another person has the logs. Once you have a fire, three to five more people adding logs to it can make a pretty big and hot fire. I'm positive that debate is possible without name calling, hate, humiliation, and a 40 foot bonfire.
It is more difficult, of course.
Love In Christ,
Tom
The above options just sound way too mature and logical!
