High School Officials Assign Racist 'Gay' Porn

WASHINGTON, (christiansunite.com) -- Deerfield High School in Deerfield, Illinois, had assigned the pornographic book "Angels in America: A Gay Fantasia on National Themes" to students as required reading. When a group of outraged parents found out, they filed a formal complaint. Now the book has been changed to an "optional title," meaning kids may still select the book for peer study under the direction of a teacher.

The book is replete with profanity, overt racism through multiple uses of the N-word, an explicit description of a sex act involving Mother Theresa and some of the most graphic, vile and vivid depictions of homosexual anal sodomy every put in print.

"After almost 15 years of school advocacy and reviewing many objectionable books and curricula, I have never seen anything this vulgar and harmful to students," Lora Sue Hauser, Executive Director of North Shore Student Advocacy (NSSA), told Concerned Women for America (CWA).

NSSA complained to the State Attorney's office of Lake County, Illinois, and they agreed that the book violated Illinois' obscenity statute prohibiting adults from "distributing harmful materials to minors." But, amazingly, Hauser was told by the State's Attorney's office that state and federal obscenity laws exempt school officials from prosecution.

"It takes a lot to shock me," said Matt Barber, CWA's Policy Director for Cultural Issues. "My jaw hit the ground when I read what's in this book. This isn't a First Amendment issue; this is about school officials betraying the community trust. Heads need to roll here. Assigning this racist, pornographic smut to high school kids is nothing short of child abuse. Don't forget, this was required reading until parents complained.

"If Deerfield High School Principal Sue Hebson, Superintendent George Fornero or any of the teachers responsible for this outrage had any sense of responsibility, they would now resign on their own rather than making parents and taxpayers force them from their positions. Shame on them, and shame on Illinois School District 113.

"It's disgraceful for these people, who have been entrusted to help mold the minds of Deerfield's impressionable youth, to have abused those youth by ostensibly violating the very laws intended to protect them. To hide behind some inexplicable exemption is just plain cowardly. Deerfield parents should seriously consider every possible legal option to ensure that these people are held accountable," concluded Barber.

One might read a story like this and think it deals with some city known for sex in Europe, but this is in the Bible Belt of America. Many parents are totally oblivious to what is being taught in the schools their children are attending. They have become to entangled in their lives attempting to make more money to have the "easy Life" and letting their children's "education" be controlled by others. It is each and every parents responsibility to insure their children are being brought up in the ways of the Lord. God will hold us all accountable for our own children's welfare if we do not do all that we can to insure that they are being taught correctly. No school is immune to the influence of the devil. Even some supposed private Christian schools are experiencing this evil. Inform yourself, insure that you are fully aware of what is being taught to your children. Teach them yourselves if necessary to accomplish this.

What I don't understand is why the officials responsible for this can't be prosecuted. Schools in most states fall under State Law because most of their funding is dispensed from the State. If I lived in that school district, I would keep looking for the appropriate office to prosecute. I would start with the Attorney General's Office for the State. One simply has to solve the jurisdiction problem in each specific state and determine the right court this should be filed in. As far as I know, there is no such thing as immunity from criminal prosecution. Failure to prosecute so far in this case sounds like an EXCUSE and DERELICTION OF DUTY. The appropriate court might not like getting a case like this, but it would be their duty to handle it anyway. Someone simply needs to take the bull by the horns and force folks to do their jobs.

Illinois has become a very liberal state. From the governor on down the line. None of them want to prosecute these people. Illinois has also become known as a welfare state and many of the people continue to vote these people into office thinking that it will keep their welfare money coming in to them and as such continue to overlook the atrocities being done for this reason. As we see in many different ways money has become more important than God. A long time church deacon told me he had to continue voting for them in order to keep his Social Security coming in. It didn't matter that he was voting for immorality at the same time, he couldn't help that part. It is a sad situation.

I'm listening to the news while working right now, and I just heard perfect illustrations of what you are saying being completely TRUE. We are living in evil times. Our public figures and other authority figures are going down in the flames of all kinds of scandals. The so-called sports heroes are good because of illegal drugs. I just heard a news spot with statistics of 50% of teens in some school systems have STDs. BROTHERS AND SISTERS, WHAT'S LEFT IS FALLING APART AS AN ABSOLUTE DISASTER! THINGS DON'T WORK WELL WITHOUT GOD! The wages of sin are pretty harsh and horrible even in this short life. Sin and evil don't appear to be much fun, and it looks like a TON OF MISERY to me. Some of these STDs the teens have will cause them problems the rest of their lives, and some of the STDs will be FATAL! The devil enjoys watching the suffering of mankind, and it appears that we are giving him plenty of entertainment.

Brothers and Sisters, all of this should make us all very sad. We know that JESUS CHRIST is the answer for all of these problems. The MORAL COLLAPSE of what we have left should be a matter of prayer for all of us. We won't win these battles, but our LORD will. The best we can hope for right now is that GOD will help us SAVE a few more for HIM! We can pray, pray some more, and yield to whatever GOD wants to do in and through us.
