I understand most things during it but after is confusing. Satan is put away and all those who accepted the mark go to the lake of fire. Earth is made new and Jesus reigns 1000 years. After 1000 years satan is released and causes chaos again and is finally destroyed. Do I have that right? How long is satan out before he is finally destroyed?

Just going to say Jesus a few times because I had only said Jesus once. Jesus needs more attention because Jesus is our Lord. Praise Jesus  Grin

After the tribulation Jesus sets up His 1,000 year reign on earth, but the new earth and new heaven are not created at that time. Satan is bound for that 1,000 years and can't do anything. After the 1,000 Satan will be released and will wage war against the King and lose of course. Then he will be cast into the Lake of Fire and tormented forever. Then the old earth and old heaven will be destroyed and everything made new. Remember He said that he will cast our sins into the depth of the sea? There will be no sea on the new earth.

I was searching for posts on the Tribulation and found this. I noticed something I didn't before. You said earth and heaven would be destroyed. Not true, they will simply be made new.

Brother David, this is exactly what Brother Tom meant when he said that this is a very difficult subject and requires a great deal of study. And this is just one small item in the entire subject. I am not trying to discourage you in studying this subject in the least. I am simply letting you know that much is required to understand this subject and must be studied through many portions of scripture.

2Pe 3:10  But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
2Pe 3:11  Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
2Pe 3:12  Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
2Pe 3:13  Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

David,

Brothers Tom and Pastor Roger are correct when they say, this is a very difficult subject and requires a great deal of study and prayer.

David, understanding of prophecy is not easy, but it takes alot of prayers, and patient time. I always pray before I open my Bible, that I understand what God is saying.

The reason Bible prophecies are not spelled out in plain terms is due to several factors. One being that they were written in a time when what the prophets saw in visions and dreams did not look familiar. Therefore they had to try and describe things unknown to them. More importantly the messages from Jesus about these times are for His servants and not meant for anyone else. They are especially not meant for Satan to understand. God purposefully hid the then future events in symbolic form and each generation would be able to interpret the meanings based on revelation through the Holy Spirit and historical and current event context.

Reading and understanding Bible prophecy can be very challenging. Referring to other sources for interpretation is helpful but be careful because I have noticed that many people who interpret Bible prophecy apply different methods of interpretation.

I like using Strong's Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible. Mine has Hebrew, and Greek Dictionaries, as well as Cross references.

1 Corinthians 2:14 "But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned."

I'll let you in for a very important lesson. The method that God intended for us to interpret Bible scripture is with Bible scripture. If you search the scriptures you will find confirmation of their meanings by using other scriptures somewhere else in the Bible. It is helpful to use a Bible that lists the cross references for you under each scripture.

Be sure to get help with interpretation and meaning of scriptures is to listen to pod casts, watch videos and read material from Bible prophecy teachers. I have my favorites but I do not follow any one teacher as the sole expert and final word on prophecy.

Be careful!! There are a lot of questionable people out there who claim to be "experts".

The most important thing David is, to pray and read your own Bible daily.

Thank you Brothers.

Maybe I'll stick to being a light to people. It is hard tho. Sometimes I feel like a candle in a thick dark cloud.
