Why Do People Go To Hell?

Most believe it is because of sin. But this is not so.
People go to hell because of unbelief.

There are two issues here.

1. Christ has paid (past tense) for all sin, for all men for all time.

This is evident for the scripture says, Heb 10:10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

All of our sin was in the future when Christ died. The issue is belief and trust.

2. Belief of the truth is what God is looking for. Notice:

1 Tim 4:10 ... because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.

Those who will not believe that Christ paid for their sins will have to pay for them themselves, for eternity, in the lake of fire.

The choice is yours but I beg you in Christ stead to put your trust in HIM and HIM alone.

I agree the answer is unbelief.

 If people choose not to accept Jesus they don't really WANT to go to heaven and be near him do they?
   Jesus said "In my Fathers kingdom are many mansions,I'm going there to prepare places for you,so that we'll all be there together" (John 14:2)
Therefore,because the only alternative to heaven is hell,they're SENDING THEMSELVES to Satan by their own free choice!

I,ve been posting on another forum for over 3 months now and I'm telling you what; I now know that hell is a fair and just punishment for unbelief because these people are PROUD of the fact that they don't believe. They are very glib about God and havd blatantly said they would rather die than accept God. So yes, God' punishment is fair and just. That forum has shown me why.

He that BELIEVETH on the Son of God hath [already has] everlasting life

And he that BELIEVETH NOT the Son shall not see life, but THE WRATH OF GOD ABIDETH ON HIM. (Jn.3:36)

Anyone reading this who does not have absolute assurance of eternal life should BELIEVE, REPENT, AND RECEIVE CHRIST. He is the ONLY WAY out of hell!
