CNN documentary may equate 'Christian Right' with Islamic terrorists

A media analyst fears an upcoming CNN special will attempt to create a moral equivalency between all religions. Bob Knight says it appears the network is trying to equate Muslim homicide bombers with evangelical Christians.

Starting August 21, CNN plans to air a three-night, six-hour documentary in prime time called God's Warriors. The special, hosted by chief international correspondent Christiane Amanpour, will purportedly discuss "the impact of religious fundamentalism as a powerful political force around the world."

CNN says the documentary will feature what it calls "patriot pastors who seek to change American culture through the ballot box," "parents who reject science education in conflict with their religious principles," and Muslim "suicide martyrs who are revered as iconic heroes."

Knight, director of the Media Research Center's Culture and Media Institute (CMI), says any series that equates "conscience-based resistance to liberal programs" with Islamic extremists is a blatant attempt to equate Christianity with Islam and to say "a pox on both their houses -- they're all bad."

"It looks very much like what the media had been up to all along, which is to push a secular viewpoint and to tar all religious believers with the same brush," says Knight -- and that includes resorting to "vilifying Christians" using any method they are able, he adds.

"They never seem to get around to explaining that the only reason there's a free press in America is because it was founded by Christians who believed in freedom of conscience," says the CMI director. "They instead paint the picture of all religion threatening fundamental civil liberties."

CNN says its God's Warriors series also includes an interview with former President Jimmy Carter about "the political impact of the Christian Right in the United States." Examples of religious fundamentalists in the CNN documentary include the non-violent Christian youth group "Battle Cry." The CNN special also includes interviews with the late Dr. Jerry Falwell and the founder of the Israeli settlement movement.

Yep. A fundy who VOTES is as dangerous as a terrorist who kills.  Nice to know we have such an unbiased media.  But they can't help themselves. They're blind to the Truth. They still think the universe revolves around MAN!! Think how ridiculous that prospect is.

This is just another demonization of the Church. It only gets worse from here on out.

Here is the sad truth. Funny how they define the point from which change is measured to a time when their agenda items are accepted.... rather than at some point in history.... like the 40's/50's.............

Pornography

Pornography was considered perverse and degenerate.
Porn only sold in crime ridden areas of town.

It was a crime to send porn through the US mail.

Porn is a 13 Billion dollar industry
There are more retail stores that sell porn in one form or another than there are McDonalds.

The general public considered abortion murder.

Abortion is protected by laws.
One in four of all pregnancies ended in abortion.
1.6 million babies murdered annually by abortion.
US Government provides $1,000,000's to the abortion industry.

Fornication

Pre-marital sexual relation seen as sinful.
Two sexually transmitted diseases had been identified.
Sex Ed promoted chasity!!
Unmarried couples forbidden to stay in hotel rooms together.

Fornication now accepted as normal.
54 sexually transmitted diseases have been identified.
Entertainment glorifies fornication.
Public schools hand out condoms to students.

Mothers had approximately 4 children on average.

You wouldn't have the room here to describe the horrible erosion in little more than 50 years.

Many young people have nothing to compare today with and have no idea how much better things were in the 50s. Some would point out advances in medicine and other positive things, but the negative of today would break the scale.

It's also true that worldly people of today like to blame many things on Christians, and it doesn't matter whether we had anything to do with it or not. In reality, the world is getting what it wants now, more and more every day. The price and misery index is high. If the world wants to blame Christians for something, let them criticize us for not fighting harder and longer to keep filth contained in the sewers. All Christians DO bear part of burden of blame for this, even though the world was determined to overcome us. BUT, another way of thinking indicates these could be the last days of this Age of Grace. If so, it would be Bible Prophecy unfolding, and no power can stop it. I know that I've said this before, but I'll say it again:  Christian responsibilities remain the same regardless. GOD will relieve us of our responsibilities when HE takes us home. Until then, we have work to do and a testimony to live.

I remember my first years in law enforcement very well, and many people would be surprised to find out what was against the law and how hard the penalties were. As an example, adultery and homosexual behavior were felonies (i.e. prison sentences). Fornication was called "Unlawful Habitation", and that was a misdemeanor involving a high fine and jail time. It was against the law for businesses to be open on Sunday, and this law was enforced almost up to 1980. Please keep in mind that I'm talking about the 1970s and 80s. Many Biblical principles were also law, and things were more so as one looks at earlier times. As an early example, death sentence offenses in law books were listed with the Book, Chapter, and Verse of the Holy Bible that was the authority for that law. By the way, did I tell you that forcible rape was a death sentence offense in most of the country, even into the 1950s?

Brothers and Sisters, don't let anyone think there is something wrong with you because you have moral standards based on the Holy Bible. This is nothing to be ashamed of at all and nothing to apologize for. JUST THE OPPOSITE - others should be ashamed and apologize if their behavior immoral. MORE THAN THAT - their behavior is sin and it's something to ask GOD for forgiveness. Biblical morals will never become outdated or out of style. GOD is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Plainly and bluntly, immorality is the world's way - the way of the devil.

I don't want the world to approve of me, and I will quickly say that Christians shouldn't be interested in having popularity contests. I'm happy that the devil dislikes me, and I really want him to hate me. If not, it would mean that I conformed to the world and was pleasing the devil. Does any Christian want this? If so, it might be time to check and see if you are really Saved.

If our societies took a hard look at death, disease, and misery - many might wander why they ever turned their backs on GOD. On the other side of the coin, many would be blind to the comparison and continue to march into the stinking pit. As Christians, we can pray, pray some more, and try to do GOD'S Will in our lives.
