Staggering statistics....... This is the reason for the outcry of the majority of Americans. The bleeding hearts will call me a racist and will say these good people need to be treated humanely. They will say "as a Christians it is your duty to show love and compassion towards them".

I can still love them, when I deport them.

Here's a whopper for y'all....... One congressional liaisons got a call from a Senator who was insisting that his constituent be granted a work permit. The constituent was an illegal from a mid-eastern country. Background checks showed he was a suspected terrorist!!  Want to know the guys job............ DRIVING A SCHOOL BUS!!!!

One of the biggest reasons I can think of would be, so Americans can have their jobs back. We will work in the fields, restaurants, motels, construction, fast food, medical industry and etc......... Lots of Americans already work and have worked for minim wage. Our seniors, and lower and middle class workers and teenagers are hard-placed to find jobs. The top notch jobs only go to collage graduates. We would love to have our jobs back.

Hi David,

Jesus is to sure to welcome them into His family but He would also chastise them for breaking laws. The word "Illegal" is there for a reason. Jesus would also have told them of their need to repent and to turn from their ways.

I am not saying they should not be punished or whatever but they should be allowed to stay. Make them legal citizens. They go to the states or Canada for a reason. Don't throw them back to the wolves.

I welcome them as well.  I welcome them when they take the proper steps to come here legally.

As far as just punishing them for breaking the law and forgiving them and allowing them to stay...  Just as there are millions coming here illegally...there are millions more trying to come here legally.  How is it fair to allow those that came here through breaking the law to stay while we let those who are still waiting with the "wolves" wait?  It is not.  And it would do nothing but cost the tax payers more money if we placed them in "detention" facilities until we can get to them and check them out and allow them to come in.  Otherwise we know nothing of them or who they are or what their intentions are.  If they were willing to break the law to get here...how many other laws are they willing to break to stay here?  Could they be mass murderers?  terrorists?  child molesters?  who knows whatelse?  Just because they broke into our country does not mean we are stuck with them until we can figure it out....not while there are others who want to come here and are doing all they can to come here legally and correctly.

I don't believe this! Since when do Christians care more about money than human needs? Whatever happened to trusting God? Isn't he a God of second chances?

It isn't a question of caring more about money than human needs. No one here said that. It is a matter of what's right. Having to lock up law breakers that are not supposed to be here in the first place just doesn't make much sense when that same money could be used to help those that are willing to do the right thing.

Yes, many of them do come here for a reason. All too often it is to avoid prosecution in their own countries. This is not true of all illegals but many of them continue breaking the laws once they get here. Setting up homes in other peoples houses. I know this to be true as it happened to me. I left a home in Memphis, TN to spend time with family in N. Carolina. When I got back I found that a group of illegals had broken into my home and lived there without running water or heat. My home required extensive repair and clean-up. There are articles in the news that many of these are driving with no license or fake license. Robberies, murders, drugs and much more are involved quite heavily in the illegal community.

I have worked with many that have come here legally. I welcome them here with open arms. Like Brother Jerry said, it isn't fair to them to allow those that willingly break laws to come here and stay here.

My parents became Untited States citizens...they came from Italy and they felt it an honor to be come a citizen to be in this country that offered opportunity...They never called themselves an Italian american, but an american...I believe if one comes to this country, they have to be a citizen to receive any benefits..to learn the language and to live in this country 2 years before citizenship and benefit is given...

American taxpayers who have children have to wait to send them to school at the age of 4 due to children from other countries taking the place in the school system, who are not citizens but, with our taxes,  we are paying for them to go and our children cannot go...this is an issue where I live...And with this issue brings religions that are more accepted than that of christianity...but I know we can trust God to carry us through any situation and to give us the wisdom to do what we must do at that hour...This earth will pass away and all the troubles it has caused...But God's word will never pass away and it leads to life eternal and we can trust Him knowing He will do what He said He will do..

No it isn't fair. It isn't fair that murderers and thieves can go to heaven by confessing their sins and accepting Jesus, while people who neither accept or reject Jesus and live a very good life go to hell.

By human standards it does not sound fair.  But then Jesus explained that salvation is not a matter of doing works or how good you live or anything like that.  It is a matter of the heart.  Each person is given the same choice.  Believe in Him or not...All the other stuff does not matter.

The Bible teaches us that once we accept Jesus we are born again.  We are given a second birth.  And that our transgressions are covered by the blood of Jesus.  From that point on what we did in the past does not matter.  The Bible teaches that everyone has the same decision to make.  What is a shame is that many feel that just because they did good and lived what most would consider a good life...they still made the decision to not believe.  And because that one thing they are in Hell today.  It may not sound fair...but it is just.  Fair is what we humans want to think of and we often try to twist justice to fit fairness when justice is the pure form of God is fair.  There is no unfairness in God...there is only justness.

And I would trust in His justness over anyones fairness any day of the week.

I consider myself to be a compassionate and loving Christian.  As such, I am not a racist, nor do I hate anyone.  Believing our laws should be enforced is not un-Christian, nor is it being harsh.  Should we ignore other laws as well?  Should we excuse American citizens who are poor and rob a convenience store or a bank, because they can't feed their family?  Should we ignore American citizens who are guilty of identity theft or document fraud, and have ruined the lives of their victims?  Should we embrace pedophiles, rapists, murderers and gang members, due to dysfunctional or impoverished lifestyles, because we have the love of Christ in our lives?

Yes, there are many impoverished people entering our country from Mexico and other countries south of the border.  There are also many vile criminals who enter as well.  In addition, there are many who wish to use our country simply as a giant piggy bank, and have no intentions of ever becoming citizens.  There are millions of people throughout this world who are far more impoverished than those who have entered our country illegally.  We simply can't be the welfare state for the world.  The U.S. has by far, the most generous 'legal' immigration policy in the world, and admits more people legally than all of the other countries combined.  We are also one of the most charitable.  Irrespective of a country's status as friend or foe, we are always one of the first to offer assistance in response to disasters.

The pro-illegal crowd, conveniently fail to differentiate between legal immigrants and illegal aliens.  There is a HUGE difference.  I welcome those who enter our country legally, who desire to become an American citizen, who abide by OUR laws, learn English, and assimilate into the culture of THIS country.  I resent people who have entered this country illegally, and have the audacity to march in OUR streets and 'demand' rights reserved for legal citizens, while proudly waving Mexican flags, and simultaneously burning or carrying inverted U.S. flags.   Rather than showing appreciation for the generosity of the American taxpayer, there is a demeanor of arrogance and entitlement.

I vehemently oppose the amnesty bill due to the fact that it rewards those who entered our country illegally, and makes a mockery out of those who chose to abide by our immigration laws.  An acquaintance overheard a young man brazenly admit to being in this country illegally, and referred to those who have chosen to play by the rules, as ‘suckers.’

It is not racist, nor un-Christian to value the sovereignty and the culture of this country.  It is not racist, nor un-Christian to resent the depression of wages due to cheap illegal labor.  It is not racist, nor un-Christian to resent the closure of local hospitals due to burgeoning costs resulting from unpaid medical bills of illegal aliens.  It is not racist, nor un-Christian to love my country, and to resent those who wish to transform it into a third world cesspool.  It is not racist, nor un-Christian to expect our laws to be enforced.  Nor is it racist, or un-Christian to expect those who choose to break our laws to be punished, rather than rewarded.

God will not find faultless, those so-called religious leaders who are exploiting the name of Jesus, to further their illegal immigration (greed) agendas.  It is absolutely disgraceful, and true Christians will not be swayed by their deceptive and blaspheming tactics.   I can possess Christian love for others without condoning or endorsing their actions.

I saw the following comments posted online, and feel they are worth sharing:

Let's say I break into your house. Let's say that when you discover me in your house, you insist that I leave. But I say, "I've made all the beds and washed the dishes and did the laundry and swept the floors; I've done all the things you don't like to do. I'm hard-working and honest (except for when I broke into your house).

According to the proponents of illegal immigration, not only must you let me stay, you must add me to your family's insurance plan, educate my kids, and provide other benefits to me and to my family (my husband will do your yard work because he too is hard-working and honest, except for that breaking in part).

If you try to call the police or force me out, I will call my friends who will picket your house carrying signs that proclaim my right to be there.

It's only fair, after all, because you have a nicer house than I do, and I'm just trying to better myself. I'm hard-working and honest, um, except for well, you know.

And what a deal it is for me! I live in your house, contributing only a fraction of the cost of my keep, and there is nothing you can do about it without being accused of selfishness, prejudice and being an anti-housebreaker. Oh yeah, and I want you to learn my language so you can communicate with me.
