Thought this was a neat story.   Smiley

Evel Knievel Dares to Live for Christ
By Steven Little
CBN News

CWNews.com–-The motorcycle daredevil known as Evel Knievel risked his life countless times for the rush of adrenaline and the roar of the crowd.

But nothing compares to his newest thrill: Jesus Christ.

Evel Knievel the motorcycle daredevil is now Robert Knievel, bold follower of Christ.

“I want to scream to the world I'm a born-again Christian,” Knievel said.

He shared his amazing transformation at Robert Schuller's Crystal Cathedral on Palm Sunday.

“I know there's more to life than what I had,” he said. “I wrote a book saying I had a life better than anyone, better than any president. Hogwash, because I didn't have Jesus Christ in my life.”

Knievel says that many people have prayed for him over the years and sent letters asking about his belief in God.

“I don't know what in the world happened,” he said. “I don't if it was the power of the prayer or God himself. The power of God in Jesus just grabbed me. All of a sudden, I just believed in Jesus Christ. I did. I believed in him.”

His message moved the audience, as he shared from his heart.

“If you don't believe that Jesus Christ is what He says He is, you will surely die you'll die in your sins,” he said. “Believe me, you've got to believe. You've got to believe in Jesus Christ.”

Afterward, Rev. Schuller prayed for Knievel and baptized him.

Schuller's son, Robert, also one of the church's pastors, then looked out into the crowd. So many were moved, they were sobbing.  So he decided to drop his scripted remarks and give an alter call.

Hundreds of worshippers streamed forward for prayer and baptism. Crystal Cathedral doesn't have exact numbers but reports between 500 and 800 people committed their lives to Jesus Christ that Sunday morning.

Rev 21:4  And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
