Hamas politburo chief Khaled Mashaal has said he would be willing to set up a Palestinian state side-by-side with an Israeli one based on the 1967 borders, Israel Radio reported Monday.
In an interview with the Italian newspaper Republica, Mashaal also offered Israel a ten-year cease-fire deal.
The Hamas leader added that he was not prepared to recognize Israel, since that would grant legitimacy to the occupation.
