Unfortunately its not the thread I was looking for. I had done a indepth verse by verse study of the Book of Revelation and left off a chapter 11.
I was going to send it to a friend of mine serving in Iraq, and start working on completing the study.
It looks like I'm going to have to start over. What a shame to lose that study, I spent many, many hours on that so far.
Well maybe I'll make it better this time around.
Heres a portion of a letter my friend in Iraq sent me the other day...
I had a pretty close call yesterday. I should be dead but for some reason I'm not. I was out on a mission and I was standing up against this huge 10 or 12 foot cement wall in the city. I couldn't see over
it. I stopped to drink some water and catch my breath. Well some Iraqi ran up
on the other side of the wall and dropped a grenade on me. (maybe he saw
the 15 foot antenna thats on my radio and knew I was there) I was stunned and I kind of froze up for a
second. When it blew up it flattened all the tires of the vehicles all around me and put little holes through the doors and sides of the vehicles.
It kicked up a ton of dust too. All the shrapnel just wizzed by me and
never hit me. But it hit everything around me pretty good. I wasn't even slightley
wounded by it. Well after the blast I kind of just stood there thinking
to myself..."what just happened". It took a second to pull myself
together but as soon as I saw all my buddies getting up off the ground
and climbing the wall, I knew it was time to go after the guy who did it.
We never got him, he must have dropped the grenade over the wall and took
off, knowing that it would take us a second to get over the wall. Then he
just blendid back in with the people on the streets that day. Crazy man. I
don't know how close you've been to a grenade blowing up, but its pretty
scary.
