~Daily Inspirational~ ~ WHO SHALL SEPARATE US?~ FEBRUARY 27, 2006

~WHO SHALL SEPARATE US?~
by C. R. Stam

"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?" (Rom. 8:35).

True Christians have been saved from the penalty of sin for one reason alone: because of "the love of God, which is [manifested] in Christ Jesus our Lord."

St. John wrote by divine inspiration: "Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation [satisfaction] for our sin. "We love Him because He first loved us" (I John 4:10,19).

Let us understand this clearly and remember it always. It is not our love to Him, but His love to us, that saves us -- and it is His love to us that keeps us saved. This is where we must begin the Christian life.

A wayward husband returned to his grieving wife one day, after many months of living in sin. Sobbing his heart out in remorse and shame, he told her how often he had longed to be home again with the wife he knew to be so true to him. Asked why, then, he had not returned sooner, he explained that he was ashamed; to which his wife replied: "John, I want you to know something and never forget it: I love you." John sobbed in response: "Who wouldn’t want to live for a woman like this!"

Just so it is the knowledge that Christ loves us no matter what; that nothing shall ever separate us from His love; it is this that makes the sincere believer determine, by God’s grace, to be always true to Him.

Thus the Scripture doctrine of the believer’s eternal security in Christ by no means leads to careless living. On the contrary, it affords the greatest possible motivation to "live soberly, righteously and godly in this present world" (Tit. 2:11,12).

~Daily Inspirational~ "ABOVE AND BEYOND" FEBRUARY 28, 2006

"ABOVE AND BEYOND"
By Pastor Jim Shemaria

WHETHER YOU ARE a sports fan or not it would have been hard not to be aware of all the interest in Super Bowl XL. Some people assumed the XL might stand for 'Extra Large' given all the attention being focused on the game, but we all know it really is the Roman numeral 40. I must  confess that on a normal year I pay little attention to this game and could not name the past five winning teams. Not that I don't enjoy football, it's just that by the first of February I usually am engrossed in watching basketball. This year, of course, was different because our team was in the big game.

I can remember the first Super Bowl when the presence of the AFL could no longer be ignored and it made sense to find out whom the best professional football team in the world was. Given the long tradition of the 'Bowl' games in college football it was necessary to find a new name for this ultimate championship game. Since there were only two professional leagues, NFL'and AFL, this would be the final and ultimate Bowl game between two teams vying for the championship. What better name than the 'Super Bowl' since in the English language the word, 'super', is a prefix indicating over and above. Maybe that first game could have been called XL but it was more than 'extra large', it was to be over and above all other games, and indeed is still the most watched sports event of the year.

The Greek equivalent of the prefix for super is one that the Apostle Paul uses often in his letters. The most interesting use of this prefix 'huper' (from which we get 'hyper') is found in the conclusion to the great doctrinal teachings of the first three chapters of Ephesians. In summation of all the great blessings from God, Paul uses this word twice in one sentence when he writes "Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us..." Ephesians 3:20 NAS. A very literal translation of this would be, "Now to the one being able beyond all things to do superabundantly above the things we ask or think." The word 'beyond' would be the first use of super or 'huper', and obviously the second use as a prefix in 'superabundantly'. Paul is here stretching the Greek language to adequately express the fact that God has limitless power to fully accomplish all that He wills. God's power indeed is over and above not only what we understand, but is over and above all that we could even begin to imagine. God's power and might are super and only the superlatives found in Ephesians 3:20 begin to explain it for us.

Maybe even more amazing is the fact that Paul goes on to state in Ephesians 3:20 that this same power ''works within us". The Holy Spirit has made us one with Christ, placed us into Him, and now fully indwells all who know Christ as Savior. This means that wherever we are, the Holy Spirit is there as well, as He is permanently dwelling within each believer. It is because of the presence of the Holy Spirit that the limitless power of God is available to work within us to accomplish His will. God is not only powerful, but His grace toward us is also 'super', above and beyond what we deserve and could imagine. Why has God chosen to call us, save us and give us His power in the person of the Holy Spirit? Could we ever begin to explain this super grace and mercy that we have been shown? If we were asked to explain this to the world what words would we have chosen? As Paul wrote these remarkable thoughts in Ephesians, he was empowered and inspired by the Holy Spirit and the words 'super' were what God wanted us to know regarding His power placed in us.

You may not feel that you are empowered with the supernatural power of God but the truth is this power is within us in the presence of the Holy Spirit. God will never ask you to bear any burden He will not empower you to bear. He will never call us to a task that He will not enable us to accomplish. He will never present an obstacle before us that He will not provide a way around or over. Is it any wonder that the Apostle who daily faced such challenges and saw God at work concludes with the words "... to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen." Ephesians 3:20. Indeed, with Paul we say a hearty, a super, and an extra large 'amen' to such a loving and wonderful God that we have come to know and love.

Pastor Shemaria is my pastor at home church in Seattle, just love his teachings, Paris

~Daily Inspirational~ ~EPHESIANS 1:21~ MARCH 1, 2006

~EPHESIANS 1:21~

"Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come"

In the book of Ephesians, Paul has much to say about the "powers" in heavenly places. The Greek word translated "powers" in Ephesians 1:21 and 3:10, speak of DELEGATED AUTHORITY and refers to political authority like that of a magistrate. Thus, in these passages, Paul is speaking of the delegated authority of magistrates who are ruling in the heavenlies. These "powers" are the same "powers" with whom we "WRESTLE" (Ephesians 6:12). These "powers" are the fallen angels to whom Satan has delegated authority to rule over God's creation. Today, Satan, as the "God of this world" (2 Cor. 4:4) and as the "Prince of the power of the air" Ephesians 2:2), has usurped the positions predetermined by God to be filled by the Body of Christ, the Church of this dispensation (Ephesians 1:22,23).

Even though Satan has his magistrates ruling over God's creation today, he has not won the victory, for Ephesians 1:20 and 21 states that Christ has been raised into heaven "far above all principalities, and powers." One day, very soon I believe, Christ will call an end to this dispensation of the Grace of God and will call the saints of his age up unto Himself in the heavenlies. At that time, Satan and his host of fallen angels will be removed from those  "seats" of authority and these "seats" will be given to the members of the Body of Christ, for we have been promised that if we suffer with Him we will also reign with Him (2 Timothy 2:12).

Today, the ministry of the Body of Christ is to "make all men see what is the fellowship of the Mystery" (Ephesians 3:9) "to the intent that - the powers in heavenly places" (Ephesians 3:10) might know the manifold wisdom of God. They will know this "wisdom" by the position that has been given to the Church, the Body of Christ.

~Daily Inspirational~ APPRECIATION, NOT DEPRECIATION MARCH 2, 2006

APPRECIATION, NOT DEPRECIATION

"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly" "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly"

As believers we rejoice in the fact that the Lord Jesus died for us, but few are affected by the fact that He arose for us. Fewer still realize that we died and arose with Him. Learn the facts! There will be continual struggle and failure until we gain adequate understanding of the liberating truth.

"The Lord Jesus on the Cross removed the barriers which separated me from God - my guilt, my sin, the law; and He dealt with my enemies - the world, the flesh, the devil. These six things were dealt with, so that we need no longer be in bondage through fear and that we may come boldly to the throne of grace.

"Have we given a hearty assent to these things which the Lord Jesus did for us? Or have we, as we read the Word, drifted by them, taking it all for granted? Let us lay hold of that for which God has laid hold of us. Let us gird up the loins of our mind and consent to that which He did for us. Let us enter into all that which being united to Christ as our Life means. Let us rejoice in all that was accomplished for us on Calvary." - L.L.L.

"It is necessary that the truth conferred by grace should be known as a possession and the virtue of it apprehended, before there can be any walk in keeping with it. For if there be ignorance or misapprehension, the truer the conscience, the more defective is the practice." - J.B.S.

"Set your affection on things above" (Col. 3:2)

~Daily Inspirational~ GRACE AND GOOD WORKS MARCH 3, 2006

COLOSSIANS 3:23-25

"And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons."

GRACE AND GOOD WORKS
By Pastor R. Hanna

Lest we mistakenly relegate the position of good works only to dispensations other than the dispensation of the grace of God, it will behoove us to take note of some of the apostle's admonitions as well as his personal example "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. Wherefore WE LABOR, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of Him. FOR WE MUST ALL APPEAR BEFORE THE JUDGMENT SEAT OF CHRIST; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done whether it be good or bad" (2 Corinthians 5:8-10).

Note the terms, so clearly set forth. "If any man's work abide which he hath built (upon the foundation of Jesus Christ), he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned (having been "tried by fire), he shall suffer loss, but he himself shall be saved: yet so as by fire" (1 Corinthians 3:14-15). These words clearly delineate between loss of reward for lack of good works and loss of salvation, which is a free gift apart from good works.

Again offering his own personal example for our edification, "the apostle looks back over his career of service for Christ as he approaches the end of his mortal years. "I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing" (2 Timothy 4:6-8 ).

~Daily Inspirational~ THE ONENESS OF PRAYER MARCH 4, 2006

THE ONENESS OF PRAYER
By M. Stanford

"And we have an assured confidence that whenever we ask anything in accordance with His will, He listens to us" (1 John 5:14, Wey.).

The Christian life is the expression of the Lord Jesus Christ through the believer to men in the world, and in the church. The prayer life is the expression of the Spirit of Christ through the believer to the Father in Heaven. As there is growth in Christ, there will increasingly be prayer in the Spirit (Rom. 8:26).

"Through the Lord Jesus every true believer is united to God in Heaven by a life-link. We are not praying down here on earth to One who is a long way off in Heaven. We are one with Him there and He is one with us here! The devil is all the time trying to create a sense of distance between us and the Lord: but there is no distance between if we abide in Christ, for no one can be closer to the Father than the Son, and we are in Him!" - T.L.M.

"Efficacious prayer is to the glory of the Father (John 14:13), in the Name of the Son (John 14:14), and in the enabling power of the Holy Spirit (Rom. 8:26, 27). Compliance with these conditions insures that the human will is in agreement with the divine will. Transforming things, mighty indeed, are wrought by prayer, but only such things as comport with the will and purpose of God." - L.S.C.

"If we want our own way we will find that everything is against us; but if we have chosen that God shall be sovereign in our lives then everything is for us."

"And since we know that He listens to us, then whatever we ask, we know that we have the things which we have asked from Him" (1 John 5:15, Wey.).

~Daily Inspirational~ ~THE RAPTURE & THE REVELATION~ MARCH 5, 2006

~THE RAPTURE & THE REVELATION~
By Pastor J. Finck

Scripture Reading: Matthew 25:31;
I Thessalonians 4:16,17

As we "rightly divide the word of truth" (II Tim. 2:15), one of the key distinctions that emerges is the difference between the rapture and the second coming of Christ. Bible teachers have long mixed the two and have lead their hearers into needless confusion.

The second coming of Christ (also known as the "revelation" of Jesus Christ) was prophesied throughout the Old Testament, and it involves the return of Jesus Christ to the earth to set up His throne in Jerusalem. Zechariah writes, "And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives which is before Jerusalem on the east" (Zech. 14:4a). This, of course, is the same location from which He left the earth two thousand years ago (Acts 1:10-12). "When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory" (Matthew 25:31). This will signal the beginning of Christ's earthly kingdom. All of this takes place "immediately after the tribulation" (Matthew 24:29).

The rapture was a secret, not revealed in Old Testament times. Paul includes it as part of the great mystery revealed to him (see I Corinthians 15:51). The rapture, or catching away of the Body of Christ, involves Christ's coming in the air (I Thessalonians 4:17), not to the earth as the second coming. The rapture will occur before the tribulation period when God's wrath is poured out upon the earth, "For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ" (I Thessalonians 5:9).

~Daily Inspirational~ ~THE GOSPEL - IN POWER~ MARCH 6, 200

1 THESSALONIANS 1:5
For our gospel came not unto you in word only,
but also in power,
and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance;
as ye know what manner of men
we were among you for your sake.

~THE GOSPEL - IN POWER~
By Pastor R.S. Miller

How blessed these words, penned by the Apostle Paul to those dear saints at Thessalonica, Think of it, his "gospel came unto you in word only" Paul's "words" were not merely his, and certainly not the words of some philosopher. They were the divinely inspired "word" of God to the Thessalonians, and as such, they are God's Word to us as well. This is why his word "came in power."

If the Reformation, that period in history from which we got our Bibles, shook all of Europe and England, most assuredly this "revelation of the Mystery," that gospel which Paul calls "my gospel," should shake the whole world today. Indeed, if such a shaking is done, the visible church should be shook to its foundations with "the PREACHING of Jesus Christ according to the revelation of the mystery" (Romans 16:25,26).

"And in the Holy Ghost" indicates the force with which the Gospel came, and carries the same power today. For men and women are convicted and challenged by this gospel. Their lives and destinies changed by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. "And ye became followers of us, AND OF THE LORD, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost" (1 Thes l:6).

The law of Moses could not produce such fearlessness (Heb. 12:18-21) which even Pentecost did not alter, but we may "boldly" enter God's presence with "assurance" because, having followed Paul's ministry "ye became followers..of the Lord."

"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind...be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel." (2 Timothy 1:7,8.)

~Daily Inspirational~ ~INEXPRESSIBLE JOY~ MARCH 7, 200

~INEXPRESSIBLE JOY~
by C. R. Stam

Have you ever noticed that the Apostle Paul never speaks of his love for Christ? Rather he keeps talking about Christ's wonderful love to him. Neither does he exhort us to love Christ, but keeps telling us how Christ loved — and loves, us. This is consistent with the message specially committed to him: “The Gospel of the Grace of God” (Acts 20:24).

The Law said: “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God” (Matt.22:37). This is the very essence of the law. And we should love God, but the law cannot produce love, so God comes to us in grace and say: “I love you”. This is why Paul’s epistles are so filled with “the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus” (Rom.8:29).

The fact that God deals with us in grace does not mean that believers should not, or do not, love Him. The very opposite is true, for love begets love. It is when men come to know the love of Christ that their hearts respond to him in love.

Peter, like Paul, had once been a strict observer of the Law, but had since come to know the love of Christ in growing measure. The result: A deep love for Christ and the overflowing joy that accompanies such love. This is why we find in I Peter 1:8 those touching words that naturally overflow from the heart and lips of one who has come to know the love of Christ: “Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see Him not, yet believing ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory”.

Yes, knowing and loving Christ does indeed bring inexpressible joy, but we cannot love him by trying. We must accept His love for us in faith so that our hearts may naturally respond.

 ~Daily Inspirational~ ~DESERTS vs GRACE~ MARCH 8, 200

~DESERTS vs GRACE~
by C. R. Stam

It is an interesting fact that in this day of godlessness and lawlessness so much is being said about what we all deserve! Ads in the newspapers and commercials on radio and TV ask:

"Don’t you deserve the very finest automobile?"

"Don’t your children deserve the best?"

"Doesn’t your baby deserve Pampers?"

And even, "Doesn’t your dog deserve Alpo?"

Well, do you really deserve the finest car? Please don’t answer that! Do your children deserve the best - always? If so you surely have model children - not at all like their parents! And does your baby deserve Pampers? That’s funny! And does your dog deserve Alpo? That’s ridiculous! Dogs do not "love" or obey you from any moral consideration, nor, for that matter, does your baby, lovable as the darling is. And as to you and your children - including the baby, the Bible has something to say on this subject.

The Bible says that "by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men for that ALL have sinned [i.e., in Adam]" (Rom. 5:12). You and I were "in Adam" when he sinned. When he sinned, we sinned. Deny this and you might as well agree with the murderer who argued: "My feet and legs didn’t do it; my ears and nose didn’t do it; only my one hand and one or two other parts of my body did it, so the rest should go free."

We believers in Christ should thank God that our blessed Lord took upon Him our just deserts when He died for our sins at Calvary. This is why God’s Word says:

"We declare, I say, at this time, His righteousness for the remission of sins... that [God] might be just, and the Justifier of him that believeth in Jesus.

"Where is boasting then? It is excluded" (Rom. 3:25-27).

~Daily Inspirational~ ~POWER TO OVERCOME~ MARCH 9, 200

~POWER TO OVERCOME~
by Cornelius R. Stam

Every true Christian knows by experience that the Holy Spirit does not, upon saving us, take possession of us and thenceforth supernaturally cause us to live lives pleasing to God. Rather, as with salvation, so with the Christian life, He operates in the believer “by grace through faith”.

Powerful assistance to overcome sin is freely provided by grace, but this help must be appropriated by faith in each individual case. There is no blanket provision for continuous victory throughout our whole life. We must look to Him in faith for the help we need in each separate battle.

Thus the Scripture teaching with regard to victory over sin is not that it is not possible for the believer to sin, but rather that in any given case it is possible for him not to sin. Thus too, the question in times of temptation is generally whether we truly desire to overcome, for deliverance is freely provided by grace if we will but appropriate it by faith.

But just how is deliverance provided? The answer is: BY THE HOLY SPIRIT. No longer need the believer remain enslaved to sin; for the Holy Spirit within, who imparted spiritual life to begin with, will also impart strength to overcome temptation. When tried and unable even to pray as we ought, “the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities” and “maketh intercession for us” (Rom. 8:26). When weak and ill, we may be “strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man” (Eph.3:16). Indeed, the Spirit even strengthens God’s people physically to overcome sin, for we read:

“But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken [strengthen] your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwelleth in you” (Rom. 8:11).

And the following verse goes on to say:

“Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh” (Rom.8:12). The thought is that, since believers have the Holy Spirit to help them overcome sin, they are debtors — and not to the flesh, but to God, to live pleasing to Him.

 ~Daily Inspirational~ ~FROM MILK TO MEAT~ MARCH 10, 200

~FROM MILK TO MEAT~
By M.Stanford

"By people who live on milk I mean those who are imperfectly acquainted with the teaching concerning righteousness. Such persons are mere babes" (Heb. 5:13, Wey.).

Promises and blessings have mainly to do with the milk of the Word. In order for a believer to grow in grace and in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus, he must fellowship with Him in the Word. There is general Bible study, and there is feeding upon the Lord Jesus in the Word of life. The former serves for foundation, the latter is needed for growth.

"People may receive 'blessings' and temporary 'deliverances' in answer to prayer, for God is merciful to His children and His Spirit refreshes and blesses us even apart from the real walk of faith. But it is of greater benefit finally to us, and much greater glory to God, if we simply accept His Word and learn to walk in the power of it by naked faith; which asks no longer certain ecstasies, but being sure of God's truth because it is His truth, maintains an attitude of faith therein; attitude - a fixed heart.

"Faith, when once we see the truth, consists of a believing attitude of the will toward God. This involves a negative attitude toward all doubt of His promises or anything that would raise a doubt; and it also involves a continued refusal to rest upon appearances or feelings, even though these may come in great abundance. It is God's written Word that supplies strength to the heart of faith." - W.R.N.

"It is an easy thing to set sail and get fairly out into the ocean; but when many days have passed and no land is in sight, one is apt to weary. If the heart is not fully occupied with the Lord in the Word, something is taken on board to fill up the void."

"Nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine" (1 Tim. 4:6).

 ~LIVING TO THE GLORY OF GOD~ MARCH 12, 2006

~LIVING TO THE GLORY OF GOD~
by C. R. Stam

"Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God" (I Cor. 10:31).

This is the great guiding principle of the Christian life.

The Apostle Paul points out in the preceding context that what may be perfectly right for one person to do may trouble another’s conscience. The sincere and gracious believer, therefore, will not carelessly violate his brother’s conscientious scruples, offending him by indulging in that which he considers wrong. In Paul’s day, this particularly involved the foods of which men partook, but from both Romans 14 and I Corinthians 10 it is evident that Christian conduct in general is involved.

If, in my daily conduct, I consider not only my own, but also my brother’s conscience, it does not follow from this that I am disobeying Gal. 5:1, failing to "stand fast... in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free." True, I have no right to give up my blood-bought liberty, but I do have liberty to give up my rights. This the world about us is slow to do, but it is one of the signs of true regeneration.

My aim in life should not be to gratify my own desires, much less to show up my brother’s weaknesses by vaunting my liberty in Christ. My one aim should rather be to glorify God in all I say and do.

All this, of course, has to do only with the conduct of believers in Christ. The unbeliever can do nothing to the glory of God. His very rejection of Christ is a continual offense to God who, in love, gave His Son to die in our place. The only way in which the unbeliever can honor God is to turn from his unbelief and trust Christ as Savior and Lord.

~Daily Inspirational~ .~OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO THE BIBLE~ MARCH 13, 2006

~OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO THE BIBLE~
by C. R. Stam

There are four passages in the New Testament where adjectives are used to describe "the Word of God" and where we are informed of our responsibility toward it as such.

For example, in James 1:21 it is called the "engrafted" or "implanted" Word, and as such we are advised to "receive" it "with meekness" since it is "able to save [our] souls." The Word of God, indeed, does have a way of getting down underneath, of getting "under our skins," so to speak. It is not merely sown, it is planted into men’s hearts and often makes them miserable as it convicts them of sin and of their need of salvation through Christ. When it does this, says the Apostle: "receive" it "with meekness" for it is "able to save your souls."

Then, in Titus 1:9, it is called "the faithful Word," and as such we are urged to "hold it fast." "God is not a man, that He should lie, neither the son of man, that He should repent." We can safely count on His Word and act upon it.

Next, in Philippians 2:16 the Bible is called "the Word of life," and as such we are to "hold it forth." The Word of God alone has power to regenerate and give spiritual life. St. Peter says that believers are "born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the Word of God, which liveth and abideth forever" (I Pet. 1:23). Thus we should "hold it forth" to lost men as their only hope of eternal life.

Finally, in II Tim. 2:15 it is called "the Word of truth," and as such we are told to "rightly divide it." If we fail to rightly divide it, we can change the truth into error, for God has not always dealt the same with mankind. Abel had to bring an animal sacrifice for salvation (Heb. 11:4). The children of Israel were told to "keep" the law "indeed" to find acceptance with God (Ex. 19:5,6). But later Paul declared by divine inspiration: "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Spirit" (Titus 3:5).

~Daily Inspirational~ ~GOD WILL DO IT~ MARCH 14, 200

~GOD WILL DO IT~
By M. Stanford

"For it is God who works in you both will and deed" (Phil. 2:13, Cony.)

As we mature we come to see more and more clearly that our Father just as fully controls our lives as He does the universe. As CA. Fox said, "Climb on, and you will find the correcting, the chastening, the cleansing, the calming of the deep affection of God."

"All the testing and trying is to first deal with, by the Cross, that which can never stand the stress and which must be forever failure to the Lord, and then to develop that which is Christ within us. That is the spiritual life - Christ in us in all His fulness. 'I will make him a pillar.' 'I will write upon him the name of my God.' He is going to do it. All the striving will never bring that end about, but He will do it.

"The great majority of us would say, 'If it all depends on me, then it is a bad lookout! ' Well, of course, that is true, but let us look at the blessing of Joseph - The arms of his hands were made strong, by the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob. . . even by the God of thy father' (Gen. 49:24, 25)." - CO.

"Let a man renounce himself, and see himself as crucified with Christ, and soon another Himself - the Lord Jesus Christ - will take the central place in the heart, and quietly bring all things
under His sway."

"It is a great thing to offer the Lord Jesus Christ as the Saviour to sinful man, but it is still greater to express Him in a world where He is rejected"- J.B.S.

"According as His divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness" (II Pet. 1:3).
