Has anyone else seen this movie?

What did you think of it, if you did?

Personally, I thought it was great Smiley (but maybe thats just because I like Gabriel Byrne!)

            Broken;
       I don't know who Gabriel Byrne is, but I did see the move and thought it was well done, as well as eye opening.

Hey Forrest,

Gabriel Byrne played the priest Smiley
I liked it too, I don't know how well the religious messages were done (though I liked the "split a piece of wood and I am there" quotation from the Gospel of Thomas), but it was a good story, and an interesting film. And I liked the introductory music too Cheesy

Current-ish, Symphony, it came out a few years ago.

The basic story is that there is a girl, an atheist, who is given an old priest's rosary beads by her mother. She develops stigmata, the pierced hands, feet, crown of thorns, scourging, etc. She's completely puzzled by whats going on and the Vatican sends a priest down to see her. He gets fond of her and sticks around, and she gets sort of possessed by this dead priest, and starts writing in Aramaic on the walls, and talking in it, without being able to remember it. Then it goes into a big conspiracy theory thing about the Gospel of Thomas being covered up by the Vatican, who take her away once they realise what she's telling people, and a cardinal tries to kill her. She gets rescued by the priest, and does a Francis of Assisi(sp) thing with some birds at the end.

Thats a rather short summary Smiley its better when you watch it!

HEHEHEHE symph,

I found there to be only two good things about the movie.
1) It pointed out the herasy and fallacy of the RCC
2) It finally ended

I didn't like it.  I did like Gabriel Byrne in Millers crossing.  It is a beautiful movie about friendship.  Really.
