I hate all the updates I have to do on my laptop. Maybe if I had it online once in a while other than when I travel I would not have this trouble. For instance, none of the option buttons for posting work (smilies and such) If I can remember the text for them I can type it and see it later from a different computer........sheesh:roll:  |

You should be able to update directly, from microsoft. XP is the only software microdumb is updating any more. Make sure you update to security pack 2.

It sounds to me like you have some missing or corrupted files as it should show such things as smilies automatically. Which web browser are you using?

tried to get 7 but it will not extract the files???
