My antivirus just pulled out a win32 trojan worm.
sounds alot like the error I had when extracting files

If you have the memory space try using FireFox: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/central/If some of the IE6 files are corrupt it will cause problems like that. Firefox is more stable and has much fewer security problems. It is also much easier to use. The link I gave here has self extracting simple to use files. If that doesn't work you may need to reformat your drive. |

It sounds like some of the supporting files for IE are corrupt. FireFox is a better browser anyway. As I said it is a whole lot more secure. There are a lot of extra extensions available for it too that really widen it's capabilities.
