Palestine calls for peace conference

A Palestine diplomat called on Wednesday in Kuala Lumpur for an international peace conference to be held immediately to discuss the Palestine issue and stop Israel's continued aggression in the Gaza Strip.

The Palestinians were in dire need of international protection, Palestinian Ambassador to Malaysia Abdelaziz Aboughosh told local reporters here.  (When the aggressor breaks the law, they are the first to cry when things don't go the way they want....... DW)

The international community can provide protection in the Balkans and some other troubled areas before, why it is not doing so for the Palestinian people, he said.

The Palestine diplomat also said that such an international conference was necessary to realize the two-state solution as envisaged in the roadmap towards peace in the Middle East.

Israel is bombarding Palestinian schools, streets and buildings and damaging the electricity supply. It is destroying the core elements of infrastructure for the Palestinian state, he said. (And they haven't fired rockets Israel schools, bull.........  DW)

This showed that Israel is not interested in the two-state solution, he said.

The Palestinians, he said, are more eager than anybody else to work towards peace and stability. (Thats why, they started this mini war. .... DW)

It is not a hobby to fight, it is not a hobby to die, Palestinians are not terrorists, and Israel's occupation is the " highest degree of terrorism", he said. (Right is that why over the past 2 months over 200 rockets have been fired in to Israel, from Gaza?....... DW)

Malaysia, as chairman of the 57-member Organization of Islamic Conference and the 116-strong Non-Aligned Movement, has urged the United Nations to call upon an emergency meeting to press Israel to cease all forms of military action in Gaza.   (Yup muslims at their best trying to show, Israel is the aggressor.  When Hamas had the chance to return their soldier they didn't, so Israel took action into their own hands. ..... DW)

Palestine calls for peace conference
============================================

I read this as a propaganda play, from the muslim world.

I agree Bob.

Seems that subversion, terrorism and outright naked and blaitent agression is the norm for Palistine. I think that they will have a difficult sell at the UN.

I also find it interesting (and about normal) that the UN is practically powerless and nothing but a bunch of blow hards......EVEN OMONG ITS OWN MEMBERS?Huh

Why is Isreal allowed "special" membership to a "united" nations coalition when it (and Palistine) continues to violate the policies it took an oath to support?Huh

(on a bit of a tangent here)

If the UN can not even influence its own members to stand fast to the agreement how can they influance non-member nations??

If Isreal can not maintain a higher standard to allow the UN to work without circumvention then they should be removed. Past actions (or lack of) action is not a good reason to maintain special treatment, when so many other nations are suffering far greater travisties thatt could be settled for far less human and monitary cost.

Peace spreads.........if you settle the easy issues you have more assets available to concentrate on the big ones.

never an easy answer to politics though...........Glad Christ will ultimatly settle this Grin

Brother, Palistine has all the right of a normal membership, they can vote on issues. Israel has only the right to listen, but not vote. That is the special membership for Israel, no right but just to be blasted.

Actually if the UN follows their norm they will probably buy into it and put the blame on Israel.

Seems as though the UN is more Muslim biased........maybe it should be Oil for votes.....not food.

This is nothing against you brother. You are just uneducated brother (on the UN), it is something you can learn. Just hang around Pastor Roger,  that is an education in itself.... Grin Grin

Yup, you hit the nail on its head, the first time brother.  Though I have been against the UN, for the past 15 years, when I saw the changes orginally coming.

Your thread on Israel VS the UN is quite informative.

I guess if I had really thought about it more, it is something I have known, or rather suspected, since desert storm and the gulf war.....the US had to take action because the UN wanted to continue to turn the blind eye at a Muslim nation, in spite of the terror it supported inside its own boarders and outside.

That's a fact. Although it has been the output of the UN for many years before that it did not become overly apparent until then. The Un supports Islam and Communism more than it does freedom. Their face is democracy but their agenda is socialism/communism.
