Israel vs. the UN

Comments by me, who is mad at the UN again!!
In 1948, when the armies of five surrounding Arab dictatorships invaded tiny, newborn Israel in what the secretary general of the Arab League announced was a "war of extermination" against "the Jews" the United Nations sat on its butt. And did not send a fact-finding mission.
But, oh, how the U.N. has been making up for that oversight ever since. For more than 50 years now, the Israelis have been its favorite subject.
There has been a genocide in Rwanda, an ethnic cleansing in Yugoslavia, periodic and horrifying communal "strife" in Indonesia's East Timor, the "disappearance" of a few hundred thousand refugees in the Congo, a decades-long and culturally devastating occupation of Tibet by the People's Republic of China but none of those U.N. member states has ever been subjected to the rebuke of a General Assembly "emergency special session."
Israel has, though, repeatedly, simply for refusing to surrender in the face of terrorist attacks that have killed hundreds and injured thousands of its citizens murders that no U.N. resolution has ever so much as mentioned.
Among the nearly 200 nations represented at the U.N., only Israel has ever been assigned special reduced membership privileges,
its ambassadors formally barred, for 53 straight years ending only recently, from election to the Security Council.
Meanwhile, and right up to the present day, that same Security Council has devoted fully a third of its energy and criticism to the policies of a single country,
Israel.
The U.N. Commission on Human Rights, which regularly and unreprovingly accepts delegations from any number of homicidal tyrannies across the globe, has issued fully a quarter of its official condemnations to a single democratic country, Israel.
Israel is the only UN member not permitted to stand for election to the full range of UN bodies. So while membership of the UN Human Rights Commission now includes Cuba, Libya, Sudan and Syria, four of the seven states designated as state sponsors of international terrorism by the U.S. State Department Israel cannot even be a candidate.
No fewer than four separate administrative units within the U.N. two of them directly supervised by Kofi Annan's governing secretariat do nothing but spend millions of dollars annually on the production and worldwide distribution of propaganda questioning Israel's right to exist.
The "Special Committee to Investigate Israeli Practices Affecting the Human Rights of the Palestinian People and other Arabs of the Occupied Territories," for example, "investigates" Israel's continued "practice" of "occupying" not just the territory taken in the 1967 war, but also the land within its internationally recognized, pre-1967 borders.
And then there is the
United Nations Relief and Works Agency
,
an operation originally established in December 1949 to assist those Palestinian refugees created by the Arab world's botched attempt at a second Final Solution.
UNRWA, as it happens, is centrally relevant to its parent organization's latest outburst of naked
Israelophobia.
All by themselves, Annan's personnel choices here are a genuine scandal. That will be perfect justice, we think. The
"world community"
will howl, of course, and Israel's many enemies will believe the worst. But they believe the worst already. And they will continue to believe the worst no matter what. And, quite apart from the controversy over what its staff should look like, the whole idea of a U.N. fact-finding mission to Jenin is scandalous to begin with, it seems to us an assault on Israel's honor, even its basic legitimacy as an independent nation, that no similarly situated democracy would ever be expected to endure.
Okay I am finished venting, for the moment.
Bob

Brother all that you have said is indeed fact. The UN's primary objective is to have a one world government and an evil one at that. They are going to attempt to obliterate any nation that stands in their way of achieving that objective. That is one of the reasons that the U.S. is also being pushed out of many these "seats" of these councils and those seats being given to countries that violate more human rights, even of their own people, than any other countries do.
(Note here that I say countries but the UN calls them states.)

The shame is brother, many people fall for the UN actions. These actions take away individual rights, and don't give anything back.

Thar's a fact.
Did you know that the eminent domain argument in our courts was actually started by the U.N. ?
The UN started getting control of a lot of our National Monuments and Parks through a U.S. agreement with UNESCO. This put the UN's regulations on this land under their rules. Part of this ruling caused many people to lose their land that had been in their families for many generations all in the name of protecting these monuments and parks. Yet they made sure that the UN Headquarters would not be taken through an act of eminent domain.
UNITED STATES HEADQUARTERS AGREEMENT, PUBLIC LAW 80-357,
4 AUGUST 1947
(PUBLIC LAW 357 - 80th CONGRESS,)
(CHAPTER 482 - 1st SESSION)
(S. J. Res. 144)
JOINT RESOLUTION
ARTICLE II - THE HEADQUARTERS DISTRICT
SECTION 3
The appropriate American authorities shall take whatever action may be necessary to assure that the United Nations shall not be dispossessed of its property in the headquarters district, except as provided in Section 22 in the event that the United Nations ceases to use the same; provided that the United Nations shall reimburse the appropriate American authorities for any costs incurred, after consultation with the United Nations, in liquidating by eminent domain proceedings or otherwise any adverse claims.
At one point in time the UN tried to get us to agree to replace our constitution with their own. This failed fortunately but I see them trying to do it again in the future.

So do I brother, when it does happen, I pray we won't be here. That we be, looking down on this evil world.

The United Nations has been working diligently for decades to implement the one world government and one world religion as prophesied in the Bible. Although I don't believe the UN will succeed, I look to the EU for that brother. Hiding behind words such as, sustainable development, global warming, global consciousness, and civil liberties, they are busy implementing the plans laid out in the UN Charter, the Earth Charter, and many other UN resolutions.
These plans include a globalization effort that would eliminate state sovereignty, and place the world's people and resources under the direct control of the United Nations, the same organization that seeks wisdom from spirit guides through new age meditation. It is important for Christians to be aware of these subtle changes in our policies and government.

I agree the UN has been failing although I am not so sure that it will be the EU. If it is the EU it will be under the control of islam. I still see the islam Khalif (sp) being the ones to take over. Their numbers fit the Bible more precise than the EU does.

Daniel, Chapter 2, presents the dream Babylon’s King Nebuchadnezzar had, which provides the basis for my understanding that history’s final system of government will try to establish total global dictatorship.
Daniel, the young Hebrew prophet, asked for and received permission to interpret the king’s dream of a gigantic metallic statue of a man. The prophet did so, after praying with friends to ask God for details of the dream and for the meanings of the dream. Daniel told Nebuchadnezzar that the statue’s head of gold represented the king’s kingdom. The chest and arms of silver represented the second kingdom. The belly and thighs of bronze represented the third world kingdom. The fourth world kingdom to come upon the earth would be, Daniel prophesied, symbolized by the two legs of iron. The final world kingdom would be shown as the statue’s feet made of iron mixed with clay.
History has proved, that the first four world kingdoms prophesied through Nebuchadnezzar’s dream have come and gone. Nebuchadnezzar’s Babylonian kingdom was the first. The Medes and Persians comprised the second world empire. The Greek Empire under Alexander the Great was the third. The Roman Empire, which split into two, with capitals in Rome and Constantinople (now Istanbul, Turkey), was the fourth great world kingdom.
The EU today is made up of over 25 countries, however the ten nations of the Western European Alliance have a separate status as full members, while those nations who joined subsequent to the original 10 have only associate membership, or observer status.
This 10 nation military wing of the EU may very well fulfill the prophecy of the beast with 10 horns from
Daniel 7:7-8 and Revelations 13:1.
On this beast’s back will ride the woman that symbolizes a global religious system that is to appear before Christ returns to set up His kingdom.
The purpose of the EU’s creation was and is, ultimately, to create a European super-state or “United States of Europe”, as some have suggested naming it, that would eventually rival the United States in influence and military might. In 1999, Javier Solana became the High Representative for the EU’s foreign and security policy, and through recommendation
666
, he was given emergency powers over the military wing of the EU in 2000. All that currently remains to create a truly revived Roman Empire is the creation of a permanent executive branch of government and the full integration of the new Euro currency. With the introduction of the new EU constitution, the groundwork is being laid for just such an executive branch and economic system. The only country from the old Roman empire not in the EU, is Turkey. Turkey wants to join the European Union to be a bridge for Islam and its desire for integration into the EU.
The twentieth century began with Europe, the heart of what was the ancient Roman Empire, in decline. The upstart, America, was coming on strong as a world leader among nations. This circumstance, some historians propose, was a major factor in setting in motion movement toward World War I. Following that war, Europe was in chaos, but with great determination set about to put its house in order.
It’s interesting that, prior to the war in Iraq, France, Germany, and Belgium threatened the EU nations that sided with the U.S. with serious consequences if any EU partner joined the coalition to remove Sadam Hussein.
Recent events may point to the position that the future antichrist will fill in his rise to power. In addition to creating an EU constitution, plans are being discussed for an EU presidency that will replace the current 6 month rotating presidency, creating a powerful international leader with great influence at the United Nations and on the global stage. The new president would be elected by government heads of EU members and would hold office for five years. Tony Blair believes this new president “will become the public face and driving force of Europe”. German Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer has gone so far as to say that the Euro was the “first step to a federation”, and he went on to say that he wanted a powerful president of the EU as head of a European government with full legal and executive power.
He welcomed the progress made in removing the “sovereign rights” of nations.
The EU is definitely becoming a world power of clay (diversity) and iron (power) with striking similarities to the fourth kingdom or fourth beast of Daniel’s prophecies. A world power of so many ethnic groups and representing so many states could easily become a very influential leader at the United Nations and the world. It’s possible that the U.N. is a beginning for this world government that will eventually be ruled by a revived Roman Empire and the Antichrist.
