And I'm not referring to the old Electric Light Orchestra song, either.

Undoubtedly many of you are familiar with Fernando Ortega, the worship leader/recording artist.  I've just discovered him.  On his CD "Storm", he has an extremely moving, haunting rendition of the ancient hymn "Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence".  It's based on the 4th century Liturgy of St. James, with a French melody (minor key).  The third verse is my favorite:

Rank on rank, the host of heaven spreads its vanguard on the way;
As the Light of Lights descendeth from the realm of endless day,
that the powers of Hell may vanish as the darkness clears away.

This is downloadable at Wal-Mart for 88 cents.  I'm not promoting Wal-Mart, but it's worth your 88 cents.  A wonderful worship experience!

Yes I do remember E.L.O., I didn't really care for them though.   The only time I really liked anything they did, was with Olivia Newton-John in Xanadu.  But I use to enjoy Olivia Newton-John, and saw her in concert at Disneyland, in 1974.

 Undecided

Hi, everyone . . . a clarification . . . I was NOT referring to ELO here, only to my original subject header.  That's what happens when you try to get cute (although, to risk further confusion, Jeff Lynne -- founder of ELO -- is a musician of fantastic talent).

I was referring specifically to Fernando Ortega (described in my second paragraph) and his version of Let All Mortal Flesh.  Anyone with an interest in a modern reinterpretation of hymns . . . especially good ones . . . would be making a good investment of 88 cents to download this one.

Hope I made myself a little clearer this time.
