(IsraelNN.com) Indian diplomat Shashi Tharoor, known for anti-Israeli views, is a top candidate to succeed Kofi Annan as secretary-general of the United Nations. As the international body's chief information official, he recently refused to cancel a program promoting only the Arab side of the conflict with Israel, according to CNN.
Israel asked Tharoor to call for a new resolution at the conference that would promote co-existence, cooperation and mutual programs between Israel and the Arabs, but there was "no will" to make a change, according to a Foreign Ministry official.
