Love Letter to Thee
How must I have looked through the darkness
Beaten and bruised by the delusions of my mind
Never seeking that which was pure
Embracing desires of every kind.
Yet you reached into the depth of my soul
Determined to bring life where death had it’s reign
Never giving up when my progress was slow
Always encouraging love in the midst of pain.
You showered me in Grace
And not one part of me was deserving
You lavished your blessing upon me
Your abundance of love always the more rewarding.
I want to say I love you but the words have no meaning
Showing my allegiance with works that are now fleeting
And yet, You desire most from me, to be made real
Lord, let my faith express the devotion that I feel.
Giving lyric to my rebirth is provoking
The power of my Savior in this place
So I surrender all, though it be a vapor
Take my life and leave your trace.
I commission myself to Jesus
And this my love letter to Thee
The greatest passion I have ever known
Cost Him everything, and set me free.
